  7. +jeranism __ You have reminded me to do something which I've been putting off for (now) a couple of weeks. I've got a lot of distractions going on but will get to it soon. *I saw a recent video you had posted that was titled [something like] "I've changed my mind about space".*
  8.
  9.
  10.
  11. I even wrote a characteristically lengthy comment (but never got around to sending it - distractions, distractions).
  12.
  13.
  14.
  15. I just checked and that video is no longer up (or it has been made private/unlisted). *Is there a reason for it being taken down?* Such as a copyright claim?
  16.
  17.
  18.
  19. I thought it was a pretty good video. It was certainly a video that had the potential to cause new people to ask: *"Why am I certain about something I can have no experience with?"*
  20.
  21.
  22.
  23. __
  24.
  25.
  26.
  27. On the use of CGI. Some say we are already there - but at some point it will be undeniable that CGI/technology will be able to recreate "reality" so accurately that at no time can we trust that what we are watching is genuine/authentic. This is within the next 50 years (though probably closer to a decade).
  28.
  29.
  30.
  31. When that time comes it will be possible to fake any kind of video footage and it will not be possible for us in the audience to discern between what is footage of reality and what is CGI of reality.
  32.
  33.
  34.
  35. *Such a situation is going to mess with the heads of many good people* (the heads of crazy people will be messed with regardless).
  36.
  37.
  38.
  39. A time will come when "truthers" are going to be debating whether a video is genuine or CGI - *for every video.*
  40.
  41.
  42.
  43. And so an approach to scrutinising footage is going to be needed.
  44.
  45.
  46.
  47. A rule for video analysis that I have is: *"If what we see does not need to be faked/CGI then we must not think of it as faked/CGI".*
  48.
  49.
  50.
  51. I.e., if what we see "can be real" and nothing requires that it is not then we must - *as a strategy* - treat it as real knowing that it will not be possible to always be correct but that when we get it wrong it won't cause damage.
  52.
  53.
  54.
  55. As I say - it is a *strategy* - there is no flawless way to examine footage that we did not ourselves create/produce. In boxing the winner often gets his head pounded along the way. It is not realistic to expect a "boxing strategy" where the victor never gets hit. But the boxer - _despite getting hit in the head_ - still *wins.* That is the idea. To win while acknowledging we will inevitably receive a few knocks - but they won't be disastrous or fatal.
  56.
  57.
  58.
  59. An example: a lot of people talked about the "pregnant woman hanging from the window at the alleged Paris Attack (Bataclan)" as being CGI. Certainly, the video footage was worthless and indistinguishable from CGI - but we could also see her standing on the window's bars. Except for "mental illness" there is no reason to exclude the possibility it wasn't real footage (of street theatre).
  60.
  61.
  62.
  63. The problem I am trying to help good people (and also the stupid, unobservant and mentally ill) avoid making is this: *If something is real but perceived/categorised as CGI - then that person is "translating reality" incorrectly. They are watching real footage and thinking of it as CGI.* This is dangerous to their mental health.
  64.
  65.
  66.
  67. If something we see *does not have to be CGI* then we can avoid this by adhering to a simple rule: *"If what we see is indistinguishable from real and does not require the use of video magic - then we should not spend any of our time thinking of it that way".*
  68.
  69.
  70.
  71. a) Something real that appears real and does not disobey reality that is perceived as CGI = harmful to our mind. (It is closer to insanity than sane.)
  72.
  73.
  74.
  75. b) Something fake that appears real that does not disobey reality is perceived as real = safe to our mind. (It is closer to sane than insanity.)
  76.
  77.
  78.
  79. I.e., "if it *could have* been of something real - then as a *strategy* (mindful we cannot always be right!) - we should accept for our purposes that it is real *if* we are going to examine it. _It's potentially hostile footage after all._
  80.
  81.
  82.

  84.
  85. __
  86.
  87.
  88.
  89.
  90.
  91. [An aside: One of the primary reasons the flat Earth topic should be of interest to all people is because it is an example of how we were all primed to accept proof's appearances as proof. Despite what people might say - we all believe the Earth is round. That belief is deeply rooted in our heads and how it came about must be recognised. The belief of a round Earth was rooted in children's minds by showing them fake images [indistinguishable from CGI] of the Earth as allegedly seen from space. We were all shown images that in hindsight remain indistinguishable from CGI - and this is what fractured our mind - creating a category in our head for *"things that appear fake but are accepted as real"* - this is what prepared our minds for lies and the lie system has been filling up that category ever since. By accepting proof's appearances at an age before we knew we could even doubt or resist we made ourselves vulnerable to accepting proof's appearances in place of proof for other things.]

  98.
  99.
  100.
  101.
  102.
  103. There will of course be moments when we look at something that's CGI and incorrectly conclude it is real - *but it will only for those brief moments where what we see is indistinguishable from reality anyway* (thus no harm is actually done to our minds - we are not being driven further insane - we are making a mistake but it does not come with a detrimental consequence; whereas the habit of processing reality as CGI is to be psychologically abused and driven increasingly insane - and to begin perceiving reality itself as CGI.).
  104.
  105.
  106.
  107. Anyway! I'll have something for you elsewhere as I can get to it (because I tend to deal with things "as they arise and as I see them" if you want my attention on something - just jump on an existing thread).
  108.
  109.
  110.
  111. It is very easy for me to let an old thread/message slip further and further behind to the point where it gets "forgotten". This has the potential to upset some people (and some of those people have mental breakdowns about it). I know that you must know what this is like _and so everything in your good time._
  112.
  113.
  114.
  115. If you can let me know what happened to that recent "space" video - it would be appreciated - it was well done.
