  1. Hi all, I am from that state in India where majority of people who came to US usually work for desi consultancies. I personally know some people who worked there and I did enough research to understand how they scam the H1B policy. The findings are much worse than I initially thought.
  2.
  3. You don’t need any technical skill to join a consultancy. All you need is a valid visa (CPT or OPT) to work and live in US.
  4.
  5. You join a consultancy and they collect your real details. They have contacts with Vendors who usually can get contract projects with clients (ex: Verizon). But the client wants someone experienced and with a valid visa. So the consultancy fake the resume adding many years of experience, fake H1B document (yep), fake everything else that client would want.
  6.
  7. For contract jobs, clients usually don’t background check so adding fake experience works. Even if the client wants to do background check on the candidate, the listed fake experiences are just other desi consultancies who they have ties with.
  8.
  9. When client wants to conduct an interview, the consultancies help you hire a “support”. These supports take attend the interview in background while you try to lip sync. Support sometimes even use speech to text, and you just read it loud. This is all possible because most of the contract jobs interviews are remote only.
  10.
  11. You get hired with a fake name the desi consultancy created with little to no skill required for the job. So, you pretend like you are working in the office or during office hours. But in the off hours, you connect with a guy in India who you hired for $1000 per month to do your work in US. You share screen with them and give the requirements you collected in the daily standup. They do your work.
  12.
  13. There are 1000s of such consultancies with 100s of people working in them. Even if you take $2000 cut every month from a candidate, consultancies usually earn around $500,000 per month. They can afford any lawyer they want and fight any USCIS report against them.
