Lumen Sonnet

 When curse is put upon my name
 And those I claim my dear
 Though it is pierced with wretched fear
 My heart burns with gentle flame


 To fight and wound 'til I be lame
 To make my heart-touched clear
 To search all lands on the sphere
 And make this curse be put to shame

 Then I will back to this fair place
 And live my fair life
 Until my days have passed
 To touch my daughter's gentle face
 Seek out a father's wife
Until my life reaches its last.
