✧personality: haekyung can be a little bit cocky from time to time, confident in himself. he knows where he's lacking and where he's strong and he uses it to the best of his advantage, training his weaker spots so they become stronger as well. he speaks harshly in short, snappy sentences which comes across as rude. which he is; he rolls his eyes and always talks back and is just over all rude. despite this he's easily flustered and if you say anything about something nsfw or compliment him he comes to a loss of words; a stuttering, blushing mess. he's very easily distracted and can be pulled away from his work by just about everything. he has a short attention span so it's also hard to keep him focused on you for more than an hour. he gets defensive of things he cares about and will fight you if he thinks or knows you're wrong. he had an accident when he was 12 that left his right leg paralyzed for three years and even now he gets sharp pains in his knee and ankle when he does anything for an extended period of time. his knees buckle out from under him a lot as well. when this happens he has to stay in bed for a few days or weeks and he hates it because he can't move and has to depend on other people. haekyung is very independent and does things by himself his own way and doesn't ask for help bo matter how much he might need it. it's not easy to gain his trust either and you can only get really close to him over the span of at least three years.

✧background: his mother "had no choice" but to run away from their cozy and happy little town when she gave birth to haekyung because she wasn't his rightfully wedded wife, leaving him with his father. haekyung hadn't been allowed out of the palace ever until he was 12, which is when the big disaster struck and he was stuck inside the palace for another three years. his brothers never trusted him or liked him because their mother wasn't technically his mother. in fact, he would often get teased and bullied by them. only a few towns people knew about this but some of those who did shut him out, refused to call him prince or pretended he didn't exist which was fine by him because then he was able to slink around with less interactions easier. his father would sometimes forget about him for days and days because he was busy with his older brothers and haekyung always felt like an outcast. he liked it in the town, not in the palace and as soon as he was able to be up and moving again he moved into the town, buying himself a cozy little house near the marketplace. at this his father got enraged because he was supposed to spend his life in the palace and doing what his father told him to and not to act on his own will.
