4. So because the minecraft thread is pretty general and weighty at this point, I figured there wouldn't be too much harm in my creating my own thread specifically to dicuss issues that occur on the dedicated minecraft server that stew is hosting for me. Any notifications, rule changes, etc will be posted here, as well as a list of the current admins on the server.
5.
6. Before we begin with the actual content, everyone make sure to thank stew for hosting this server for us. He is doing it for free, and for the enjoyment of the community, and he deserves any gratitude you may be feeling.
24. No Griefing:
25.
26. The following types of griefing will net you a warning the first time, and a permanent ban the second time.
27.

Random Construction
- Placing random blocks all over the map.

  28.
Random Destruction
- Destroying other people's work as well as destroying random blocks from the environment.

  29.
Offensive Constructions
- While some things are tolerable, A 64 block high racial slur will be frowned upon.
30.

  31.

32. These types of griefing will be dealt with an immediate permanent ban:
33.

Lava flooding
- Keep buckets of lava off your use bar until you actually need it.

  34.
Forest fires
- Do not set fire to a tree to get rid of it when it's next to another tree, which is next to a forest.

  35.

36. No Duping
37.
38. No duping is allowed. Ever.
39.
40. PVP/PVE Rules
41.
42. Until this new bug is fixed, when you die (no matter how you die), you must log out and log in. If you don't, you'll be invisible. Anyone found to be invisible will be kicked and possibly banned depending on what they were doing with their invisibility.
43.
44. Be courteous. There's nothing wrong with raiding another tribe/player's house, killing him, and taking all his shit. It is kind of a dick move, however, to blow up the person's house when you're done unless it's a full scale tribal war.
45.
46. Finally, no killing in a 35 unit radius around spawn. If you don't know what 35 units are, use your best judgment. If the dude barely spawned moments ago, don't run up and kill him.
47.
48.
49. Signs
50.
51. Put a sign next to everything you build and put your name on it. Signs help us indentify who buildings belong to. A structure that has no sign nearby is considered public domain, and can be used by anyone, or destroyed by operators. Signs also help us acknowledge good creative builders. In case of map resets people who build decent looking things are more likely to get whitelisted, but we need to know it's yours!
52.
53. Clean Up
54.
55. If you built a built a house then decided to move to a different location, destroy the old house first. If your house was burnt down by a griefer, it is your responsibility to clean up However usually the community will help you clean up and rebuild, as well as the operators. Do not set fire to a building you don't want anymore. Not only is there a risk of starting a forest fire, it usually doesn't get rid of all blocks and it will look even worse than if you had just left the building as it is. This rule also applies to man-made abandoned mines (not natural caverns), fill those babies back up or place a sign saying that it is abandoned and can be used by anyone.
56.
57. Mines
58.
59. There is no need to start a completely new mine when there are a couple of public mines already hanging around near the spawn. Ask around if anyone wants to share a mine with you before starting one. You can start a new mine as long as you keep the underground area close to your structure. Do not make straight stairs all the way to bedrock, as you will end up miles away from your house and will probably intrude into someone's underground area or private mine. Use a spiral staircase, or look up on how to make a water-ladder.
60.
61. TNT
62.
63. On the off-chance that you find a dungeon with gunpowder and make TNT with it, do not store it in chests. This leaves it open to people taking it and duping it. You probably won't even realise that they took it because they'll dupe it and place it back in the chest and keep the duped ones. Anyone caught with TNT in their chests will be warned the first time, banned the second.
64.
65. Eyesores
66.
67. Eyesores are anything that does not look pleasing to the eye. Use your own discretion for what counts as an eyesore, but follow these general guidlines.
68.
69.

1 Block Towers -
If you're going to make temporary towers to get to a high place, make them like this.

  70.
1 Block Pits
- If you're going to dig straight down to start your mine, place ladders, or just make a spiral staircase.

  71.
Floating Structures
- Do not make any sort of floating structures. They will be seen from all over the map and usually do not look good at all.

  72.
One Material Building
- Whatever you build, however you decided to build it, please be creative. An entire house made solely of wood or cobblestone does not look good at all. Use different materials, make some sort of roof, have a side rooms, maybe build a garden nearby.

  73.
Pixel Art
- No pixel art at all. No giant words in the sky, no gigantic characters.

  74.
Water Currents
- If you started a building in the water then decided to destroy it, you will leave a hole in the ocean. Clean it up.

  75.

76.
77. Trees
78.
79. When you first start out you will probably be cutting down a lot of trees. Please make sure that you destroy any leaves left hanging around. There is currently a plug-in in place that automatically destroys clumps of leaves that are not touching any other block. If you take all the logs from a tree and the leaves stay there, do not just blame the plug-in for not working and leave. Clean it up.
80.
81. Listen
82.
83. If someone who you decided to build next to asks you gently to move to another area, please listen to him. If another player asked you not cut down any trees in an area around his house, respect his wishes. If you have a problem with any requests such as these, ask an operator to settle it.
84.
85. Operators have the final word
86.
87. Operators are the players with blue names in chat, and they have the final word. If you disagree with anything an operator tells you to do, do not argue with them. Instead PM me on IRC or email me at osito.c7@gmail.com, and let me know. I'll get your side and theirs, comb the logs for anything I need, and render a decision. Arguing with them will probably only get you banned, and coming to me after the fact might annoy me to the point where I'll just ignore you.
88.
89. Information

If you have been banned and you feel it was without reason, feel free to PM me. However, if you decided to duplicate 64 units of TNT, and then went to town putting holes down to bedrock near the spawn, and burning down FNugget's treefarm, don't bother. I'll ignore your PM, or call you an idiot, and then get your IP from the forums to IP ban you, as well. Keep in mind that I have quite a few friends among the SMods, Administrators, and Nabi Staff, so if you prove yourself stupid enough, I may even attempt to use my influence to ruin your shit on Toribash, too.

  90.
I will try to let you guys know at least a day ahead of time before I do map resets or anything major, but situations do arise where things need to be done. If we do a map reset and you had no warning, I'm sorry, but those are the breaks. I'm starting to write a wrapper for the server so that it saves the map hourly, and makes a backup. If you desperately want an older copy of a particular map, let me know, and we'll see what we can work out. While I am a bit of an asshole, I'm not heartless, and I understand that you may want to continue with something that you spent hours, even days working on.

  91.
Unless otherwise stated, you can consider a ban from my server a permanent exile. I'm not really one for much forgiveness, unfortunately. For the most part, the administrators I've picked are pretty lenient, and might allow you to bend the rules, so if you got banned, it's most likely for a big reason. I'll reference you to the first point I made in this list for any other occasion.

  92.
When the October 31st update comes out, I'm going to evaluate how it changes the game play aspect of multiplayer. Some of these rules may change, and I may take up a policy of 'everyone for themselves' if enough bugs have been addressed to make a competitive game possible. We'll see.

  93.
I would appreciate it if you guys would be helpful to newer players who might not know how to do things. This game is a bit difficult to get into if it's your first time playing, as there's no real guide, other than the minecraft wiki. (which not everyone reads) For those new to the game, I've linked some references you should probably check out at the end of this post. If you have any questions in-game, feel free to ask some of the regulars or our administrators. I don't know that they will be helpful, but I certainly hope so.

  94.
If you have any issue with another player in game, immediately alert an admin in game. If there's none online, there may some on IRC in either #toribash or #minecraft. If you still cant get anyone to help you with the issue, and only if you can't, then PM me on IRC and I'll do what I can to handle the situation.

  95.
Any other questions or concerns on the rules can be addressed in the #minecraft channel on IRC, or in-game. FNugget appears to be the most active administrator at the moment, so I guess you can consider him the go-to guy, especially since I don't like people asking me a lot of questions.
