George Lucas made a film that was bound to sway,
He called it Episode 1, The Phantom Menace was its name,
But it left some fans feeling quite ashamed.

Oh, my, my, this here Star Wars high,
The Phantom Menace, oh why, oh why,
Jar Jar Binks was quite the sight,
And midichlorians just didn't feel right.

We met young Anakin, a slave on Tatooine,
His fate was sealed, his future was foreseen,
He was the chosen one, so they said,
But some wished he had just stayed in bed.

Oh, my, my, this here Star Wars high,
The Phantom Menace, oh why, oh why,
Qui-Gon Jinn was pretty cool,
But Darth Maul was the real jewel.

The podrace was thrilling, a feast for the eyes,
But the politics were dull, and they told too many lies,
Trade Federation blockades, Senate debates,
It all felt like filler, and that's not great.

Oh, my, my, this here Star Wars high,
The Phantom Menace, oh why, oh why,
The force was strong, the visuals grand,
But it couldn't quite meet the fans' demands.

Despite its flaws, we still love Episode 1,
It gave us new characters, and some epic fun,
And though it may never be our favorite one,
We'll always remember how it begun.

Oh, my, my, this here Star Wars high,
The Phantom Menace, oh why, oh why,
May the force be with us, as we watch it again,
For it's still a part of the Star Wars canon.
