  8.
  9. -----------------------------------------
  10.
  11.
  12. {What are you doing up here?}
  13.
  14. By the great Beast-God, you had sent me into shock - normally my wolves ward off predators, yet you passed through. Are you prey looking for succor from father Hircine?
  15.
  16. What beast, stalking on its hind legs, treads such a perilous trail to me?
  17.
  18. {You're talking about me I take it?}
  19.
  20. Oh, a sensible denizen - you must hail from the walls of men. Thus your spirit is one with the fox. Now speak true, what takes you to me?
  21.
  22. {No, I probably got past your wolves because I'm not one to go anywhere near them when given the chance.}
  23.
  24.
  25. Haha, craftiness of the fox then. We've all masqueraded as prey if it means a greater catch, so tell me, what brings you up here?
  26.
  27.
  28.
  29. {Curiosity I guess, seeing this lofty structure sitting preciously from a cliff face makes it hard to ignore.}
  30.
  31. Hircine cast his great bone down to Nirn for me to follow, it landed here, and I heeded his call.
  32.
  33. I sense that you relish combat - hence I make this plea; there are spirits tainted by the rotten tendrils of this land that are seeking me harm.
  34.
  35. Roots gestated in the embers of the bone's fall, splitting the outer layer - finding air and sky, the tree reveals this tale. Lest you believe I lie, for fox I am not.
  36.
  37. {And what is this apparition near you?}
  38.
  39. Progeny; his grasp slipped and has fallen to that nether world below the eyes. He stands at the interim between life and death - restless, lost.
  40.
  41. I seek to have this nomadic spirit, yet-to-be, retreat from that aimless path - he needs to find home, to find the bosom of his mother.
  42.
  43. Yet omens have taken to his scent, ravenous in their prowl - they seek the spirit-flesh of he, my son, the un-sonned. The beast-god's trials are cruel.
  44.
  45.
  46. These spirits, once benign, have drunk from the waters of men and have become afflicted by their hate. I feel a dark presence that has corrupted men behind those stone walls now corrupts these spirits. Would you slay them?
  47.
  48. {Do you need help with these omens?}
  49.
  50. You wish to be swallowed into the beast-god's great game?
  51.
  52. {I just wish to help}
  53.
  54. The beast-god rewards those who triumph over his schemes, generous are his gifts. In your path, yet-to-be, a hunt - harrowing is the trial which stems this black feast.
  55.
  56. Hounds of hunger, numbering three, fester the land with their ruin. These are the omens that you must hunt, these are the omens that chain my son.
  57.
  58. {Here is my map, tell me where they are}
  59.
  60. The beast-god blinks, his eyes are now mine - he watches above, he knows the image of this map well. And he sees the omens, here they lay.
  61.
  62. The eyes return. Now hunter, I wish you swiftness in this pursuit.
  63.
  64. {I'll see what I can do.}
  65.
  66. A trio of omens lay scattered around the land, wayward, they have strayed far from their homes and need returning. May the beast bless your hunt.
  67.
  68. {What are you doing now?}
  69.
  70. My son takes his final rest and the chains which those omens held have shattered, I'll perform the rites that will deliver him from this world unto the next, where his mother waits to be united again with our son.
  71.
  72. The son takes his final rest, the chains that bound his spirit-skin now swallowed by the great beast. Now fate demands our action, it demands the rite.
  73.
  74. {The rite?}
  75.
  76. Your hunt has bore a fissure, yet-to-be, which will take the son to his mother. But this door needs one to open it, this rite will help one.
  77.
  78. Yet that noise, howling in the distance - beyond the real. It is the screams of that glutton-world of the black hounds. They will come to halt this rite.
  79.
  80. {I'll fend off these omens while you perform it}
  81.
  82. You defend the pack as if it were your own - transcending convention of the Beast-god himself. Yet the beast smiles on you, your intentions strike true.
  83.
  84. The breach will blow, in that moment the dark call will be heeded. My eyes must see the breach, it must keep its shape for the rite. I cannot lose focus.
  85.
  86. Have you readied yourself?
  87.
  88. {Yes, I'm ready}
  89.
  90. The rite begins, so his struggle can end. Prepare.
  91.
  92.
  93. The evil that spurned those spirits has not fully subsided however, they will make a desperate effort to take this child with them. This blood feud of gods ends now, see to it that none of those evils halts this ritual.
  94.
  95. {Is it done?}
  96.
  97. The child finds himself swimming through the gentle, tepid sea towards his mother. He has found reprieve which cannot be imitated in this reality.
  98.
  99. The child drifts, facing the sun of the gold mother, half immersed in the shallow, tepid sea of her realm. Sleep will the son on his mother's breast, forever.
  100.
  101. A penance has been served, I have learned from this punishment. The beast-god's trial has weighed me with knowledge, with your arrival weighing further.
  102.
  103. I see your pack as you have seen mine - the beast recognizes your contribution. A morsel from his great feast, may this sate more than hunger.
  104.
  105.
  106.
  107.
  108.
  109. You are part of the pact, I will teach you all that I know and have Hircine bless you against any predator you may face throughout the wilds. You have our loyalty.
  110.
  111. [Scene where Wolf Shaman performs ritual]
  112.
  113. Come gather - foul spirits of undeath - as I perform this rite for his delivery into her arms, and cast you back into your black realm.
  114.
  115. Come gather - Gold sprites of the low sea - as I beg for my son's release.
  116.
  117. Come gather - Dread omens of undeath - as we banish you to the world below all worlds.
  118.
  119. Daar aar bolog fah aaz, nau dii kiir

  126.
  127. Farewell son, mother awaits.
  128.
  129. {What have you got for sale?}
  130.
  131. What use is gold? Everything, nothing. The belief of its value from all man has given it mastery. And I am another subject.
  132.
  133. The spirit requires sustenance, as does the flesh. Part with what you will, as I part too.
  134.

  172.
  173. [NPC REACTING TO PLAYER ACTIONS]
  174. A great sight!
  175. Careful, little fox.
  176. Becoming feral?
  177. A howl worthy of the beast-god himself.
  178. Ill-minded prey.
  179.
  180.
  181. [NPC REACTING TO DEAD BODY]
  182. Prey left to rot.
