Host Duties for SSS Marathon

Your duties as host:

(1)  Keep the audience entertained during the time in between runs.  Tell them what runs are coming up.  During the run itself you don't have to say much unless the runner wants help commentating.

(2)  Get the previous runner into the voice call and talk with him/her to fill some time between runs.  Or have them show off some tricks or glitches if we're really far ahead and need to kill time.

(3)  During the runs, keep an eye on the stream (both public and commentator view) and make sure there are no hiccups.  You will have access to the control panel in case you need to restart a runner's stream or edit the labels.  This is an important task, because somebody needs to always be watching the broadcast in case something goes wrong.  Notify the tech people (feasel/mithical9) if it's a problem you can't solve on your own.

(4)  Stay in contact with the setup-helper who is scheduled for your shift.  During each run, check which run is coming up next and make sure that the setup-helper has been able to reach the runner(s) and get their streams ready.  If it's getting very close to the end of the run and the next player hasn't shown up yet please inform the staff immediately (feasel/mithical9) and we'll try to contact the player or find a stand-in to fill the space.

(5)  Keep the marathon on schedule.  You're in charge of deciding when we switch over to the next runner (you have access to the broadcast control panel to do scene changes if feasel/mithical9 isn't there to do it).  So if we're ahead you can let the previous runner hang around on stream for a while, or switch over to the next runner if their stream is already set up.  Depending on whether we're ahead or behind you might need to kill a few minutes time, as mentioned above.
