  1. 00:00 In this tutorial, I will be showing you how to create your announcement on bitcointalk.org. An announcement is essential to let everyone know about your coin. We will be covering the simplest way, but you may wish to spend longer on yours.
  2. 00:28 Sign up and create a free account. When logged in, navigate to Announcements. Which is under the heading of alternate crypto-currencies. Here you will see all the announcements of so many coins. There are 935 pages. So there is a lot you can choose from.
  3. 00:51 We are going to choose one that is quite basic for this tutorial. One which displays the information about the coin. Rather than one about the use case.
  4. 01:02 Choosing any at random. Let's choose this one. Now, we can see they have a large image displayed. This is not good for us. As we have a new account and can not display images until our account has matured.
  5. 01:20 So let's look for another which is laid out nicely, with more wording. Okay, let's take a look at this one. This seems better. A logo centered. Some relevant information about the coin specs. Useful links. Links to exchanges etc.
  6. 01:39 So, let's say we want to make one similar to this. Just go to the top right of the first post. And click on the word, quote. We will then be taken to a text editor showing all the info from that post.
  7. 01:55 Here we can see how the post was created. We can see how they added the logo image. The image is a link which has been centered. You can swap that out with your own image. Next we have the about us wording. We can see how it was sized. This is easy to change.
  8. 02:20 Scrolling down further. We can see the paragraphs of information about the coin. And the blue words are links to websites and GitHub etc. All easily changeable to our own coin information. Then we have the network specifications. We can change these to our own.
  9. 02:45 For example, let's change the ticker to VSX. Anything you don't want to display can be deleted.
  10. 03:02 We can change the wording anywhere. Such as changing about, to about Vision X. And changing the sub-heading too. Everything should be changed to relate to your coin. We are just using the layout as a template. We can replace links to source code for our own.
  11. 03:24 So once you are satisfied and want to see the changes made. Just go to the bottom and click on preview. Do not click on post. Once you have clicked on preview, scroll up to the top. You will then see the changes you have made. You can see the changes we made to the network specs. And all the other changes are now visible.
  12. 03:48 So just use one you like as a template and it will make life easier. Now we need to look at the subject of your post. We can change the ANN to PRE-ANN for our first post. Add our coin name. Then some details about our coin. Such as proof of work and masternodes. It's algo, X16S. State that main network launch is soon. To attract people, offer bounties and airdrops.
  13. 04:22 Then, when you are happy and have completed your changes. You can highlight and copy all. Head back to the announcements page and create a new topic. Paste everything in the box. Then copy and paste your subject line too. Click preview again to check everything.
  14. 04:59 Then post.
  15. 05:02 You will be able to see it listed in the announcements. Obviously I will not be doing this for the tutorial coin.
  16. 05:09 It's quite simple to do all of this. Just remember, new accounts will not be able to post images. However, if you post with links to images, someone who is able to post images will quote your post. Then everyone will see the images. You should spend a while making sure it all looks professional and clean, before you post.
