- Team Breakdown:
- Normal Team
- (Porygon-Z) @ Normalium Z
- Ability: Adaptability
- EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
- Timid Nature
- IVs: 0 Atk
- - Shadow Ball
- - Conversion
- - Ice Beam
- - Thunderbolt
- A lot of my teams this gen have a Z move user and imo normal's best z move user is Porygon Z. With Z conversion, Porygon z becomes an amazing setup sweeper for balanced normal and it gives normal a better matchup against a lot of types with its tremendoes bolt beam coverage followed by shadow ball stab since porygon becomes a ghost type. This is usually the late game cleaner, once their scarfer that has less then 90 base speed is gone I throw out porygon z and proceed to sweep.
- Chansey @ Eviolite
- Ability: Natural Cure
- EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
- Bold Nature
- IVs: 0 Atk
- - Stealth Rock
- - Thunder Wave
- - Soft-Boiled
- - Seismic Toss
- Chansey is a staple on balance normal for obvious reasons, it is one of the best defensive mons and with eviolite is becomes unstoppable (On the special side). The ev spread is max def and max hp because his spdef is already high enough and putting evs into hp and def will let it tank a lot of mons even though its defensive stat is terrible. Chansey gets reliable recovery and it is also a really good rocker on normal since not a lot of things can touch it and its kinda like free rocks. Thunder wave is on it because it helps with a lot of common threats in the metagame, a big mon that hurts normal is keldeo but once I paralyze it since chansey can survive one it helps a lot since now i have stuff in the back to take care of keldeo or else it literally 6-0s. Seismic toss is chanseys best attacking move since it's attack and sp attack stats are pathetic and ye chansey helps against almost any type.
- Diggersby @ Choice Band
- Ability: Huge Power
- Happiness: 0
- EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
- Adamant Nature
- - Fire Punch
- - Earthquake
- - Frustration
- - Quick Attack
- Diggersby is the wall breaker of this team. This mon helps hit literally every mon in the game especially because its choice banded with huge power. Literally if diggersby outspeeds the pokemon it dies and also it has quick attack for priority incase of emergencies. Fire punch helps deal with a lot of threats that are usually resisted or immune to eq and frustration such as skarmory, celesteela, etc but mostly bulky steel types.
- (Porygon2) @ Eviolite
- Ability: Trace
- EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
- Bold Nature
- IVs: 0 Atk
- - Recover
- - Toxic
- - Ice Beam
- - Discharge
- Porygon 2 is imo the best eviolite user. Porygon 2 and chansey form a really good hard to break defensive core and with good predictions you can wall almost anything. Porygon 2 also gets reliable recovery and has toxic to cripple other pokemon that have recovery. Bolt beam coverage is to help against a lot of threats and discharge if it gets the para it helps a lot. I was considering running hp fire for scizor and steel types or foul play but I don't think its worth it since I have a ditto on this team.
- (Staraptor) @ Rocky Helmet
- Ability: Intimidate
- EVs: 248 HP / 152 Def / 108 Spe
- Impish Nature
- - Defog
- - Roost
- - Brave Bird
- - Toxic
- Staraptor is a boss. With a defensive nature some investment in def and hp and intimidate it is a really good defensive pokemon. It also has reliable recovery and defog to get rid of hazards. Staraptor is really good against a lot of scarfers that are locked into physical moves such as earthquake or a lot of other physical moves. For example on steel, scarf excadrill has to choose between rockslide or earthquake and if it uses earthquake thats a free switch in to staraptor. For the evs on staraptor the speed evs is to speed creep base 70's such as bisharp and breloom which are huge threats to normal and toxic instead of closecombat because no one really expects toxic on staraptor and it puts in a lot of work.
- Ditto @ Choice Scarf
- Ability: Imposter
- EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
- Relaxed Nature
- IVs: 0 Atk
- - Transform
- Lastly the scarfer of the team Ditto. If anyone tries to set up against me i just sack a pokemon and bring in ditto and reverse sweep them. This is another reason why i dont use foul play on porygon 2 because i can just sack something and reverse sweep so theres no point. Ditto is amazing.
