  5. While I did praise the variety of dishes on offer in my quality analysis, they do leave a little on the table when it comes to making use of the ingredients provided. A few dishes on offer don’t utilize any of them, while a good number of others use them in fairly straightforward ways (blueberries as a dessert, Panko as breading, etc). That being said, the sheer number of dishes on offer does help alleviate some concern, as does the clever consideration of nut allergies when utilizing the cashews. Linking to proper dishes also gives a crystal clear picture of what is being served in the strat, and it all looks fantastic. Overall, not too shabby! Seven.

  9. BBP does quite well with the ingredients provided! Coconut milk and the beans specifically are in basically every dish on offer in one way or another, and used in just about every way they have ever been used in contemporary cooking. Big fan of using the Mung Beans themselves as well as the sprouts, it gives the ingredient a much wider base of application than simply the vegetable it usually is. The apple leaves a little to be desired in comparison, only showing up in a couple drinks, one dessert, and one entree and otherwise simply used as decoration with HoG’s highly precise peel-work. Would have loved to see it incorporated into more savory dishes, apple goes fantastic with both pork and chicken for those at home! Eight.

  13. Keeping things short here I believe that an 8/10 is fair for both teams here. BBP comes through doing a superior job of integrating their ingredients into their dishes, while LLC throws the curveball of integrating their ingredients into their sabotage in some culinarily considered ways. Beyond that there is little for me to say other than that both teams did a fantastic job of integrating their ingredients into their menus and strategies in undeniably robust and creative ways, but without blowing my socks off. Congratulations to both teams on an excellent pair of strats!

  19. I liked the dishes on display for the special ingredients. I felt like an important aspect of this was to make sure that the menu was cohesive and it wasn’t just a random smattering of dishes that didn’t fit together just to fit an ingredient quota, and I thought you handled that quite well, each category of the menu incorporated these in an interesting way. I’m giving this an 8/10.

  23. I went back and forth on score for this one, but I’m going to give it a 9/10. I thought that not only was the variety of dishes on display featuring each ingredient solid, but the ingredients’ place in those dishes were used in diverse and interesting ways. I think the attention to detail pushed it up to a 9 for me; varied preparations such as quick pickling, saving the apple scraps for use as decorations, and coconut milk serving as an easily interoperable base for a variety of drinks and desserts were standouts to me.
