- Today was like any other day for Silas, boring and slow. He laid there in his bed, motionless, staring at the ceiling. Time seemed to move slowly, slower than even before, he didn't even know if time was moving. He reached for his phone, it was beside him on his bed side with his other belongings, it was a bit of a mess. He grabbed his phone from his bed side and stared at it aimlessly, he was waiting for time to move again, to reassure himself that it was still moving and that he wasn't stuck in an endless loop. The seconds felt like hours before the numbers on his screen had changed, a minute had passed finally. Time hasn't stopped yet for him, at least not today. Silas groaned, he was tired, unmotivated and over everything. He let his arm flop to the side, phone still in hand before placing it back on his bed side and accidentally knocking a few things over while doing so but he did not care to pick them up again. He just didn't care today, he felt aimless, he felt hopeless. He just didn't feel himself today. He didn't even know who he is, that was his predicament. He hasn't been here for long, a few months? A year? Things made sense at the beginning, he felt like he had purpose, a goal, a direction to keep heading to whenever he felt lost but now. Now he just doesn't know, everything feels aimless, what's the point of doing this or that? What is his goal anymore? To live? To survive? What is living anyway? He doesn't function like normal life forms, he's different, different even from his kind. Most life forms, require to eat, drink and sleep to keep functioning. He doesn't need to do that, his life form is magic, as long as he rebuilds it again, he will be fine. He doesn't need to sleep, eat or drink. He just does it for "fun", to keep a routine going on in his life. But, that's not his purpose, what is his purpose? What is his motivation? Is he supposed to recycle magic like the rest of his kind? Is that really all he's really here for? Or is there a greater purpose for him like the rest of them. The blessed ones..or the cursed ones by the gods. He grind his teeth thinking about this, the gods? Really? Fuck that crap, they don't even care about him. All higher beings don't, that's simply just how they are, that's simply just how the world is. Silas had enough of himself, just thinking and talking to himself for what felt like hours even though it was merely minutes of his day. He didn't want to keep thinking to himself, he didn't want to keep thinking in general, he just wanted his mind to calm down, slow down and just, silence. He wanted silence again, or at least for his kind to start functioning again and let him get up, get off his bed and get to work.
- "Work..right.." Silas groaned in disappointment, he had just remembered that he had work today, he didn't want to go in but he also didn't want to miss work. He pondered to himself for a few minutes before groaning loudly, he wasn't motivated at all but he had to, he begrudgingly got out of bed and went to the bathroom. He turned the shower on and went in under the warm water, the sensation of warm water hitting his face and body helped him calm down a bit. He sighed as his body relaxed, he wanted to stay under the running water for a bit longer before he started his shower. He took a moment to relax himself and melt into the moment, listening patiently to his hissing shower head as it spat out droplets of water on him, for once he wanted to stay in this moment, just for a bit longer but he knew if he stayed any longer, he wouldn't leave the shower. He looked up and took a deep breath in before he grabbed his shampoo, holding it gently in his hand as he popped the lid open and squeezed a small handful in his other hand. He closed the lid and placed the bottle back in its place before he rubbed his hands together, he rubbed his shampooed hands into his hair, making sure to get all of in as he rubbed it further onto his scalp. After letting it settle for a bit, he washed the shampoo out of his hair and prepared to wash his body, that was the last thing he had to do before his shower was complete. He grabbed his body wash and scrub, he placed a nice dollop on it before placing the bottle right back next to his shampoo and began washing his body throughly, he wanted to make sure that he was clean as he didn't remember if he had showered on his days off or not. He went under his shows head again and washed everything away, his body, his thoughts and whatever was trying to drag him back into bed. He felt refreshed now at least, but the shower didn't wash away everything unfortunately, not like it could. He walked back into his bedroom, drying his hair with a towel as he continued to dry his body after that. He stepped in front of his closet, grabbed his uniform and put it on without a second thought, he hovered to his bed side and grabbed all the essentials that he needed. His keys, phone, wallet and badge, the badge was the most important part, everything else didn't really matter.
- He grabbed the badge in his hand and stared at it, holding it tightly as he thought to himself again. Is that it? Is that my purpose? My job? He was thinking again and washed everything away beginning to remember things, things he had long forgotten. The day he had woken up, the day he was alive. He didn't know his purpose, he didn't know what he was doing but he had a drive, a very strong drive that led him here. He had the strength, the energy, the power to accomplish so much and his mind wanted him to do so, it wanted him to keep going, it wanted him to achieve something greater. He was now remembering, remembering the drive that he had to protect, the way he had went through so much with his co workers and on his own to protect the city, to protect the others, to protect the people that they care about. Maybe that's his purpose, his purpose to protect.
- Silas grip on his badge grew stronger, he held onto it for a moment before he placed it on his belt as he began to walk away, heading to leave his apartment " maybe that's it I guess..we will see today I suppose.." a small smile formed on his face as he grabbed the doorknob and opened his apartment door and headed out for the day. He will figure it out, sooner or later, he had all day anyway.
