  1. Good afternoon Vlad. My name is Miranda Luledjian and I am a part time employee at store 3459. There are some issues at the store level in this location that are affecting the morale of the staff members. The staff members here want to share their experiences and perspectives with you in the hopes that you can help us to create a more positive working environment. They feel that working towards a better work environment would be of benifit to the customers, themselves and the company.

  3. We understand that you may not be able to maintain complete confidentiality of the information that we share with you. We do respectfully ask that you maintain our confidentiality within reason and take all necessary steps to prevent retaliation against us for sharing this information with you.
  4.
  5. The staff would like training that is in line with company policy. They have the drive and ethic to be good workers but feel limited by their lack of training. An example of this is an employee who was brewing a regular pot of coffee in a red basket. I showed her the correct way to make coffee and she expressed her distress at not previously receiving proper training on how to brew coffee.

  7. The assistant manager frequently talks about drinking and even tells employees that she drinks at work. The staff has not actually seen her drink at work. The staff is distraught that if they report these conversations it will be her word against theirs, and they are extremely worried that they will be subject to retaliation.

  9. The manager has gender and racial biases. He is unaware of these biases and becomes very defensive of them. The staff is under the impression that he pays male employees more than female employees and is less likely to hire people of color. This is very demoralizing for the staff. He uses pet names and touches the arms and stomachs of some of the staff members.
  10.
  11. The manager does not communicate effectively with the staff. When asked a question by staff he brushes it off or gives vague answers. When something does not go the way he expected he blames the lack of communication on the staff.
  12.
  13. The staff has frequently reported issues relating to theft to the manager. For a very long time 1year+ the manager has denied, made excuses and minimized these reports to the report givers.
  14.
  15. The staff is under the impression that the manager has previously lied to you. Specifically in the case of the assistant manager taking home deposits in her backpack. One eventually never made it to the bank. She returned that particular deposit but the staff is under the impression that the manager covered for her and told you that the deposit was found in the safe and not in her backpack.
  16.
  17. This is the tip of the iceberg. Upon your request and your assurances that you will prevent retaliation from occurring the staff is willing to expand on the experiences and examples that we have shared above. We want to thank you for your time and consideration in reading this. We firmly believe that with better training for both the management and the staff that our issues can be addressed. The staff is very hopeful that together we can achieve a positive work environment with good morale and high adherence to company standards.
  18. Thank you,
  19. Miranda Luledjian
