  1. -book is sexist generally bad for a young teen girl’s self esteem:
  2. 1. Girls are decidedly judged by their physical attributes and willingness to put out.
  3. 2. Narrator portrays unwillingness to perform a unreciprocated oral sex as a negative aspect to a woman.
  4. 3. Author identifies with sexist artist Salvador Dali and even singles out a painting where a naked woman is used as a desk (most repugnant form of objectification).
  5. 4. Writing a book for young teens is a responsibility and hiding behind “this is what it was like for me as a teen” is a weak cop out.
  6.
  7. -the writing and store and etc
  8. 1. The writing style has become more meandering than necessary. It’s hard to stay focused on the incredibly loose plot structure when constantly being led off onto “I Hope the Serve Beer in Hell” blog-style tangents.
  9. 2. Undeniably intriguing story nonetheless; forces reader to grimace and proceed.
