  1. [I am Mono Rail, Son of Train and Spirit Tracks. I am a Colt with white fur and a black, messy mane. This is sometimes what I have to remind myself when I am asleep like this, as even though my foalhood is nothing but a figment. My supposed memories of being a creature known as a human flows through my mind, with the knowledge and logic I had with it. Being 5 and a half years old again, atleast it seems to be again anyway, isn't all bad. Besides, with my ultimate logic, I can figure out a way to destroy that boogeymare in the closet. ]
  2. >*nudge*
  3. [mother insists its not real, but I know it is. I've seen the shadows at night!]
  4. >*nudge nudge*
  5. [ ngh, can't focus...its as if..]
  6. >"come on sweetie, time to wakey wakey"
  7. Mono's eyes open slowly, as he tosses in his bed.
  8. "few more minutes *yawns* mommy"
  9. >"come on now sleepy head, you don't want your favorite cereal to go to waste do you? and besides look at how fun and shiny the day looks!"
  10. [My mother, Spirit Tracks, was quite a sight I suppose, her warming presence always calming my heart even as she opens the...]
  11. "Gahhhh sunlight!" was all Mono can muster as he fell off his bed, blinded by the light and shuffeling in his blankets. his mother merely smiled and patted his head.
  12. >"Didn't expect you to get up that fast, now hurry up before your cereal gets soggy"
  13. her voice was soothing to Mono, if only because his past life, he had always had mother issues. And despite his memories nagging him on how dumb it all seems to be treated so childishly. His logic keeps the sad ruse of hiding such memories, and his undeveloped sense of self can't help but feel as if its all truly right. He looked at his mother as she exited the room, following her with a yawn. He couldn't help but stare at her posterior. One would think it was human memories of the ways of a lovely ass. But in truth it worried him. making him think, with the knowledge he did have, that any stallion could swoop in and defile his mother. Who's light green fur, purple eyes, and long but lightly nappy black mane along with her more free spirited attitude would make her a target to any stallion's affection and steal away his mother. Not in a sexual sense mind you, merely protective as a son to its mother.
  14. "Mom....ummm..have you ever thought of wearing....pants?" Mono slightly murmered, as he sat at the table to eat his oat cereal as his mom donned an apron to make cookies.
  15. >"pants?....why would I wear pants?"
  16. she looked puzzled as she stared back at Mono, she was never really fashion oriented anyway.
  17. "oh..ummmm" [Shitastic! why would I even say that without first thinking of..i dunno...a reason?] "b...because..umm.it will make you look prettier?"
  18. >"oh...i suppose" she smiled " it might even help me keep warm in winter time i suppose!"
  19. [YOU MORON, THATS THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT YOU WANTED....HOW CAN YOU PROTECT MOM NOW FROM ALL THOSE EVIL SMUT STALLIONS!]
  20. Mono was frustrated, nothing frustrated him more but fumbling with what he originally thinks is solid logic being thrown in the mud by his childish spring of thought. He simply sighed and tried to get it out of his mind as he began to eat his cereal, albietly slowly, letting his mind wander.[day in and day out I feel haunted on how I should act, and how I do. Mom just seems to think of me as her loving child with "special brain power", but its...wait.] Mono paused and looked across the table.
  21. >"besides, Mono *giggle* why would you even ask about pants? no other pony your age wears them"
  22. Spirit looked at her son simply look around, she frowned abit. She thought maybe that he was getting worrisome about having to start his very first day of school. It always worried her actually, Mono never acted his age at times. Either being oddly more intelligent or overly childish at any moment.
  23. >"if you are worr..."
  24. "Mom" Mono quickly interrupted, lost in worrisome thoughts of his own. "Where is dad? he is always here, It's Saturday right? you both are off on the weekend....so..where is he"
  25. Mono stared at his mother with a sad expression, but perhaps in his own mind. Some greed lingered knowing that without father present, he would not beable to feast on his mother's family cookies as soon as he hoped for.
  26. >"oh" She frowned "He got called into work, a train headed to Ponyville broke down and well, he is our only repair pony dear"
  27. [Blast, why couldn't I be born a unicorn. Could save dad the trouble and fix that train in time for delicious cookie goodness] Mono sighed, looking at his mother with a big long look.
  28. "we..we are still having cookies right? I mean, thats why you are making them right now?"
  29. >"yes, but you know we can't actually eat them until were all here to enjoy them as a family!" Spirit gave a reassuring smile "Wouldn't want anyone being left out right?"
  30. Mono forced a smile "yeah, wouldn't want to leave out anyone". He finished his cereal and slowly pushed the bowl away with his hoof [what's wrong with me, I should care more than that....I mean I do care...They raised me....goddammit.now I feel awful...but..what do I say?] all he could do is stare into space. His mother was , of course, oblivious to his mental turmoil.
  31. >"Mono, dear, have you thought about school yet? you know" She moved away from the oven after putting the cookies to bake and moved towards Mono with a big happy smile "School, and all the good friends you can make?"
  32. [yeah right...right...school...] he didn't know how to feel about this at all. [how do I even go about it Mom, I feel different, I know I am.] "yeah, can't wait" again forcing a smile, his mother however can see through it. But in her mind, it is simply a thought of him being scared. She raised her hoof and rubbed his head gently and gave him a gentle kiss on the cheek.
  33. >"now now, I know you are worried. But trust me, you will feel better getting to talk to ponies your own age! It will be lots of fun! I promise!" Mono didn't have any idea how to feel about having "friends". He was a reclusive in his supposed past life, and with what he can remember about kids his age is that they are extremely annoying, but how could he dissapoint his mother, who was ignorant to everything he felt and yet did everything in her power to lead him towards a happy life.
  34. Mono himself, when he would go to the store with his mother or watch his father work on the trains, never felt inclined to talk to anyone resembling his age. It troubled both his parents that he was seemingly anti-social to the other colts and fillies, and for them. School is more for his benefit of friendship than it is to learn.
  35. "Mom, I...don't want to talk about friend stuff. Or school really" he said with a sigh. "I just wanna go outside for abit".
  36. Spirit frowned, but she would not be deterred on making her son happy.
  37. >"now now Mono, don't say that. I know deep down you want ponies just like you. That you can have fun little adventures and talk about everything cool and awesome!"
  38. She gave such conviction in that little pep that even Mono couldn't help but smile alittle as she gave him a small salute to solidify her words.
  39. "Well, I can't argue with that Mom. eheh" he rubbed his head with his hoof "Can I go outside though, the smell from the oven is making me reeeeeallllyyy want cookies".
  40. >"Well, alright. But remember not to leave the yard alright?"
  41. "I know, don't worry" Mono hopped off his seat and made for the door before he felt another tap, turning to see his mother's smile.
  42. >"and remember, no worries. In just a couple of days. You'll be swimming in new friends. Now, go have fun."
  43. Spirit turned after giving her son a peck on the cheek. In her mind, her son is reaching the point where his lonliness will fade, and for her, it warms her heart. As for Mono, he walked out of his house and to his yard. It was average size, with a tree with a tire swing on the left center. beyond the gate was the other homes of the place known as hillsdale, a small town that made little sense to him as it had grass and trees being among all the homes. The homes and small businesses themselves were all brightly colored and not placed in any uniform way that he is used too. But it didn't bother him either, he simply trotted to the tree and plopped onto the grass and resigned himself to his thoughts.[Ugh, Mom...I wish I could tell you what I know. But I know if word got out I'd probably be the youngest mental patient in Equestria.] Mono held out his hoof to the sky and stared hard. [Fingers....I could almost feel them.] he dropped his hoof down to the grass and stared into the clouds [My memories aren't even really happy ones anyway. all those hardships and worries, and yet here...Everyon....Everypony seems nice and happy, almost nothing bad happens. and..it's like a heaven really.....] he gently turns his head, looking at his right hoof. [still wish I had fingers though] He sighed, and chuckled abit. [Maybe Mom is right, I could do with some friends. Won't do much for me intellectually. But, with how this world works...it would truly feel free.] And so Mono laid still, enjoying the serenity of the land and sky. As a human, he always wanted a point in his life to beable to absorb and enjoy a carefree landscape. He never had any true interest in the actual enviroment itself, but he never got to simply enjoy such a relaxing sight such as this. The air was clean, the grass green, the breeze warm and inviting. The actual expirience was enough to even keep him laying still in serenity than just getting plain bored. And as he stared into the sky, a familiar mailstallion slowly descended from the sight of the corner of Mono's eyes. It was Max Velocity, an old pegasus with grey fur and ever so molted wings. And yet was Hillsdale's number one mailpony just on his fierce vigor....even if it was so he didn't have to live in permanent retirement. He landed and flittered his wings abit, standing proud despite being abit ancient. Mono slowly rose up and waved "heya Mr.Velocity, what's up". There was genuine interest in his voice. And why not, unlike anyother pony, Max treated him at an almost adult level. They conversed whenever he had the time to stick about, and Max would tell him about the old diamond dog wars. What probably causes Max to even treat Mono as an adult might simply be because Mono can actually retain everything he says and mutually doesn't treat him like an old fogey like the other fillies and colts.
  44. Max himself has found Mono to be the only young pony attentive enough to listen to how the war ended. But thats a tale for another day.
  45. >"nyheh, well well. Hello Mono, how you doing this fine morning"
  46. Max took down his mailbag as he searched for the mail for the tracks.
  47. "The usual, just wondering things"
  48. >"af course ya are, must be alot on yer mind considering school n all"
  49. Mono let out a soft sigh, still not wanting to engage in too much conversation about the matter.
  50. "well, ya know...gotta learn new stuff about you know...stuff"
  51. Max immediatly stopped looking in his bag and leaned over the fence, giving Mono a piercing stare.
  52. "ya know darn well that's not what ah meant, Mono, ya havn't taken mah advice at all about being all social, have ya?"
  53. Mono frowned, feeling abit shameful. he looked down. Unbeknownst to his parents, he and Max had talks about his better than average intelligence, without revealing his memories, and Max had warned him before that said intellect and avoiding ponies his own age would make him be outcasted when he finally would have to attend school.
  54. Mono circled his hoof in the grass.
  55. "Look, I don't think....it'll be that bad. I mean...mom beileives in me, and she sai.." [Why am I rationalizing this?] "look, I just didn't feel like getting into anything"
  56. Max sighed, and rubbed his forehead
  57. >"look ere Mono, ya a smart colt, I jus don wanna hear bout other young ponies making fun of ya. I tried speakin to your pops, but he gots it in his head that all kids these days value smarts. But I know, and ya seem to know. That children these days are cruel little whippersnappers"
  58. Mono groaned abit , turning to his side. His parents were ignorant to be sure. Most are. But he realised that he too was living in ignorance if his mass level of avoidance of other ponies wouldn't garner negative attention in such a small town.
  59. " mnnn, it's not gonna be that bad"
  60. >"Ah heard that some of the other colts think of you as some sorta alien thing, Others thinkin of ya as just a crazy little wierdo"
  61. Mono flinched, had he really garnered that much negative attention. His heart fell alittle bit with worry.
  62. "it can't be that bad...'
  63. >"not everywhere, but nough to make ya look bad. Don't help none ya starten school a quarter way in. Ah wish ya followed mah advice"
  64. Max frowned abit, thinking himself abit too harsh as Mono seemed to just mentally vacant. He gently fluttered his old wings and hovered over the gate and landed next to mono and patted his head.
  65. >"don worry too much, ahm sure if ya just put forth some effort, then ya will make it fine."
  66. >"but ah warn ya Mono"
  67. Max said with a cold hard voice and serious stare, Causing even Mono to shiver.
  68. >"ya keep being so meloncholy and ya will attract all kinds ahf negative attention, ya got it?"
  69. "y-yes sir!" Mono nodded ten ways to sunday, shaken by Max's sudden seriousness.[Dammit, why does he have to do that?...mnnn, he's probably right though. But even if he is, I don't understand how I'm going to fix this reputation I somehow have. Bleh, I guess the only solution is to figure out how to act more like a kid, I know just where to start]
  70. "Mr.Velocity" Mono looked up at him, his face seeming that of an inquisitive child." I need to ask you a question, ya know, So I can understand how the other kids are".
  71. Max laughed abit at the absurdity of the question
  72. >"Mono, ya know you ain't an old stallion jus yet right? Ahh ya gotta do is observe an learn tis all"
  73. Mono started to get abit annoyed, he didn't need an actual lecture or advice on being a kid, atleast he didn't truly think so, he needed more than anything to understand what it meant to be his age, and more importantly, how to be his age in Equestria. His old memories conflict with his new expiriences that even he is confounded at times at the differences.
  74. " I know that" he sighs "Mr.Velocity, I mean there are things I don't get. Like, whats the big deal about cutie marks. I get it, they represent your special talent..but...why is that so important to everypony? It's just a mark."
  75. Max frowned, his heart felt unsteady. Never in all his years had he ever heard someone have such negativity towards a cutie mark.
  76. >"Well Mono...It's jus a part of life tis all, It's ah important hallmark in everypony's lives to earn thar cutie marks. It's how its always been."
  77. Mono started to feel uneasy and frustrated, the concept escaped him. "Come on, all it is is a mark. It seems for identity purposes only. I mean come on, What if somepony had a very shameful talent. They would be branded and outcast for life most likely even if they were a good pony."
  78. Max turned abit, and pointed to his cutie mark, a blue comet like object that seems to be bulleting through horizontally.
  79. >"it's not at all like that Mono, cutie marks are ah symbol ahf accomplishment. take mahn for example. It represents mah speed. Not only in flying, but in mah decision making and choices and such, Always straight and true, like ah comet."
  80. Mono seemed unimpressed, invested in his own arguement and irritation to care.
  81. " I don't need to see your cutie mark to see that, and that still doesn't mean much for ponies who have shameful marks or unimportant marks. It could just aswell be a branding for failure."
  82. Max felt his heart plunge into sadness, Mono's words...He had never heard such words from anypony before. Especially not one so young. He didn't know what to say anymore, all he could do was feel sorry for Mono. Max sighed sadly
  83. >"look Mono....jus try to loosen up abit, ya still got years ahead of yeh.."
  84. Max went into his mailbag and pulled out acouple of letters with his mouth and passed them to Mono
  85. >"here is some letters for your ma an pa"
  86. Max gave a long look to Mono, Mono still looked frustrated, but was silent as he was. He was still waiting for an answer he bet. But he didn't have the time or willpower to argue this.
  87. >"take care,Mono"
  88. and he flew off, to finish his rounds. Mono just looked on as he spit the letters onto the grass.[I knew it, no good reason other than moronic tradition. And I'm expected to deal with that? what's the point, these ponies value such stupid things.]
  89. Mono snorted and eyed the town beyond his front gate. [look at them, being so carefree, and they dare even think of me as less than I am? If they lived in my world, they would be glue in seconds. I shouldn't have to degrade myself for friendship, Why do I need friends anyway?] Mono angrily started kicking his gate, the few fillies who were playing nearby fled from the harsh sounds of Mono's kicks.
  90. [I...DON'T.....NEED.....FRIENDS!!!!] [Fucking kids...Think they are so great.] Mono stops kicking, and stomps towards the tree with the tire swing and gives it a quick buck. [When the things they believe in are so stupid in the FIRST PLACE!]. Mono angrily turns and stares at where he hit the tree, he starts to mumble in a mocking tone. "Oh hey everypony, guess what, lets go and do stupid things together." he slightly turns "haha, look at that stupid earth pony, he can't do magic, fly, or even earth pony things." Mono starts to tear up abit in his fury [..y..yeah, I can see it now. Stupid little children being stupid. Joke's on them. I far exceed them in what's most important. Brain power...yeah...Let's see how they react when I show them up in even the basics of hum...pony intelligence. ] Mono's tears well up, but his anger seems insatiable, he looks long and hard at his front hoof [Yeah....who needs friends when I can just as easily make fools of those who are truly lesser than myself] Mono starts to shake, his anger and depression sparking every nerve in his body [I'll be the talk of Equestria, and they will be the one's lower than dirt.] Mono slowly lays to the ground, staring from his hoof to the sky, he begins to curl up. In truth, the thought of being alone has always, even in his old life, had made him paranoid and angry...atleast from what he can remember."thier...loss" *sniff* "ngh..They don't even know me..." *sniff sniff* "I..don't understand."
  91. Of course Mono couldn't. Despite his intellect, he couldn't help but feel as if his mannerisms and logic had diminished. He could never put his finger on it, nor did he want to beileive being so young had caused it. He wanted to believe he had the same maturity he had as a human adult. as for the moment at hand, Mono grew silent, shivering. Tears running down his cheeks. His rage turning into pure sorrow. He could barely move. [it...can't be my fault].
  92. As he layed there shivering, he suddenly felt a gentle rub on his back and head as he was lifted. It was his mother, she had just come outside to check on her son when she spotted him curled up. She checked him abit for injuries and then hugged him close
  93. >"shhh, Mono...honey, it's ok, I'm here"
  94. She spoke to him as softly as possible, his shivering had made her worried as his tears ran down her own hooves. she starts to rock him back and forth as she lays in the grass with him
  95. >"shhhh...it's alright Mono....what's wrong? please tell me whats wrong"
  96. her heart was breaking, she had never felt such depression from Mono. She was hurt that she couldn't figure it out. And did her best to calm him and help him with whatever was troubling him.Mono could feel her warmth, and felt ashamed. He kept silent other than his sniffs and whimpers and hugged onto his mother tightly.
  97. Spirit held back her own tears, was it school? Was it anxiety about the other young ponies? Spirit had only a small inkling herself of the reputation of her antisocial son when it came to ponies his age. It was her that even suggested he go to school for the sake of fixing it. Mono for awhile had been homeschooled, if only for the fact he learned and picked up on things insanely quickly. But the fact he would never socialize with the other children had worried her enough to suggest school be better for him in the first place. And now, she felt he was suddenly growing anxious and depressed about it. He had to be, he had never acted this way before. Sadly she could never know the level of despair Mono truly felt.
  98. "M...m..mo...ngh"
  99. Mono held back, he didn't think his mom would see him like this. [...d..dammit...mom..please go...don't....I'm...afraid]
  100. >"Mono,it's ok...take deep breaths alright? don't talk....just let it all out"
  101. she pecked his forehead lightly and continued cradling as more tears welled up in Mono's eyes.
  102. [ngh...Dammit!!!...ngh...I can't be a kid. How can I be? How.....how am I supposed to act? I'm a freak. Why...why should I try, I've been judged already.....]
  103.
  104.
  105. Spirit carefully took the sorrow filled Mono onto her hoof and took him inside, the last thing she needed was his outburst becoming a public spectacle. The sweet air of fresh cookies was ignored as she took Mono into her room. He shook in her arms, Mono's own thoughts became a shambled mess. A mix of sorrow, rage, and the inability to understand his own heavy reaction. Spirit went onto her bed and laid on her back, placing Mono on her belly and began to rub his back as he cried and cried. She was scared, and the fact her husband was still out working only made things worse.
  106. >"Mono, my little Mono."
  107. he still wasn't responding. She could only hope her words and gentle caress would eventually calm him.
  108. >"Whatever is bothering you, you can tell me. I won't judge you. You don't need to tell me now, but I promise I can help you. Whatever it may be."
  109. Mono hugged tighter onto her mother, hiding his face onto her belly. Tears still running. "m..mom...I...I'm". He stopped, and wailed. Spirit gently nuzzled him.
  110. >"shhh, don't worry. Take deep breaths"
  111. Mono tried, his mother's tender voice and care, the warmth of it, started to bathe his very soul. But even as he began to calm, he couldn't help but feel shattered. [M..mom, Can't...you see? I am not...normal. I'll never be accepted.]
  112. >"Mono, is it school. Are you afraid of it?"
  113. Mono felt a twinge in his brain from those words. [..a..afraid?...am I?] he pondered as his wailing slowed, as he nuzzled gently. He never considered it to be fear, but his irrational feelings. It had to be it. But even as he considered it, he still couldn't shake the emotional feelings, he still felt broken inside. He started sniffling, as the tears slowed. [M..mom, help me....]
  114. He slowly looked up to his mother, what shame he felt. His mother looked like hell from all the worry he put her through. He took a small breath and sniffed in his boogers and with a soft voice "M..mom, I'm...s..scared. I'm scared...of school...of..what the other ponies..will think of me." he sniffed again, looking straight into his mother's eyes. Spirit smiled gently, feeling small relief
  115. >"Mono, you don't need to worry about what the other children will think. alot of them can be big dummy heads. But there is always going to be a few who will like you and want to be your friends, those are the ones you should care about"
  116. "b..b-but. What if there isn't. What if they all hate...me?"
  117. >"Mono, if life was like that. Wouldn't I hate you?"
  118. Mono pondered for a moment, his tears slowly drying
  119. "..........no...I mean yes...I mean the one that means you wouldn't hate me!"
  120. Mono started to feel relief, he started to feel more calm. His worries didn't go away outright. But somehow, his mother had made him feel better. Then he felt her poke his side and he let out a small giggle.
  121. >"hehe, then no need to worry. Anyone who ends up hating you was never even worth thinking about."
  122. Mono looked at his mother with amazement, giving her a hug as his sorrow had slowly subsided. [Im....impossible. Geez mom, are you a wizard? How did I not even.....think of that? How....how did she do that? M..mom.] Mono started to tear up again, but this time in gentle warm happiness as he gave his mom the biggest hug he has ever given her. "Thank you, mom" Spirit gently grasped and returned Mono's hug, and gave him a warming smile.
  123. >"Mono, i'll do anything for you if it means you'll be ok."
  124. [....mom...heh, damn. I feel...just. Why do I feel so great, how could the answer be so simple?] "Really? What if I do something bad?" [Like burn the school down, or conquer Equestria with my superior knowledge?]. Spirit smiled again and gave his nose a small bop.
  125. >"then I'll do that! hehe,...but I'll still support you...speaking of bad stuff."
  126. Spirit moved Mono to the side and got on her hooves and walked towards the door, then looked back at Mono with a devious smile.
  127. >"Let's have a cookie or two, hm?"
  128. Mono looked at his mother, and gave her an accusitive look. "Mom no! We need to wait for dad!" Spirit just slowly waltz over to Mono and eyed him.
  129. >"not even just ooonnnneee?"
  130. Mono gulped [EQUESTRIA TO MORON, COOKIES COOKIES FUCKING COOKIES. WHAT WOULD YOU CHOOSE, A SEXY MARE OR A VERY SEXY MARE? THE ANSWER IS GODDAMN COOKIES] "maybe....just one?"
  131. Spirit giggled and beckoned to her son to follow, she thought a cookie wouldn't hurt none and would further lift her son's mood. Mono rolled out of bed and followed his mother to the kitchen. The aroma of the cookies was so alluring. They both went to the table and took a cookie, and munched on it happily. Mono however, hypnotized by such taste slowly went for another [how can cookies taste so good? Why does earth cookies suuuuck, just one mo...] "ow!"
  132. Spirit gave a quick swat to his hoof and smiled "you said just one dear, don't want to overdo it right?" [Mom...you dirty, how can you deny me such goodness? you can't just let me have one and then swat me! that's cruel and unusual punishmen.....ahaha...wait a moment...idea] Mono looked up at Spirit and pouted, making an adorable sad face "but mommy, its so goowd, cawnt I havr owne more pweeeeease?" Spirit lowered her head and stared at Mono with adorable arrogance
  133. >"No Mono, Bewcause Twhen you'll want anothwer"
  134. [Curses! How could she possibly know that!?]
  135. Spirit giggled, her planned had worked. His mind seemed completely off of the worry of school. But she was still worried about it, it was only two days away. And it would creep up on him sooner or later. She had to speak to Train when he gets home, and see if he can help his son with alittle stallion expirience.
  136. >"Mono, do you really want that other cookie?"
  137. Mono smiled, and got abit excited. "Yes!" and bounced about [what the, calm your shit Mono, show some dignity] Mono coughed abit and calmed down "sorry, got abit excited". Spirit laughed abit, but then wondered. She always found it odd that Mono seemed to have spurts of adult thinking or moments of self control. However, this time she wanted to playfully exploit it.
  138. >"Well, how about you fight me for it?"
  139. Mono gave her a confused look. "did you say fight?"
  140. >"mhmmm~"
  141. "as in, fight fight?"
  142. >"mhmmm, don't worry, I know how to fight as to not to hurt you.
  143. She giggled
  144. >"it's sort of how I met your father, I was abit of a firecracker in my old days"
  145. Mono seemed surprised "you fought dad? heh, he didn't hurt you too badly right mom?"
  146. >" I knocked him unconcious in one blow"
  147. Mono's eyes widened. Spirit never did talk too much about her past. But beating his father? [bullshit mom, bullshit...nehehe, and besides. that's dad. I have enough memory of some old kung fu stuff and my yellow belt in tae kwon do. If anything you are making a mistake]
  148. Mono smiled arrogantly, and stepped to the side. "Well mom, I think I will fight you. What are the terms?"
  149. Spirit gave the same arrogant smile and stepped opposite of Mono
  150. >"Beat me and you can have three cookies. You can go all out if you want. And that's it, losing has no consequence other tham waiting for your dad."
  151. Mono snickered "Mom, you are on. Just don't be surprised when I come out on top"
  152. Spirit just nodded.
  153. >"alright, no whining if you lose ok?"
  154. "promise"
  155. [Well mom, prepared to be surprised. even if you beat dad. I know pony combat is pretty lax. Hell, according to Max, the diamond dog wars ended when Celestia herself was kidnapped, and within 22 minutes, had the entire tribe crying for forgiveness.....apparantly after a really sappy song]
  156. Spirit walked past Mono into the living room and started to effortlessly move furniture back to make a large battle square of sorts.
  157. >"Mono, come here, for this will be our battle square"
  158. Mono smirked abit at his mother's words with certainty that it was all pointless. He walked into the living room, where his mother stood at one end with a bright smile.
  159. >"are you ready Mono?"
  160. Mono pondered, then looked at his mother "almost, Can this be a two out of three match?"
  161. >"hmm? Are you sure you want to lose twice over Mono?"
  162. Mono snickered, he felt as if his mother was now just a foolish challenger to his might. Spirit was into it quite herself, but kept careful notice of Mono's emotional state incase she goes too far.
  163. "haha, come on Mom. I'm pretty smart, all I need is alittle strategy to beat you."
  164. Spirit gave a leery smile
  165. >"oh hoh, strategy? my my, you have been taking personal lessons I see, that makes me proud.....but it won't save you"
  166. Mono felt excitement and anticipation build within him, not only is this a chance to show his intellect, but his superior skills of that of an average colt. "And you said I could go all out right?"
  167. >"mhmm, don't hold back just because I'm your mom"
  168. Mono nodded and eyed the room [ok...let's see, I'll barrel roll 90 degrees and flank her right side with a flying kick. That alone should knock her off her hooves] "ok I'm ready!"
  169. >"then let's do it then!"
  170. Spirit didn't even get ready, she stood casually as if there was no fight. Mono let out his warcry and charged his mother. He barrel rolled quite awkwardly to the right, it was so terrible Spirit almost let out a big laugh. It was so slow. Mono however, thought he was being as quick as a ninja. He looked at his mother's exposed side and ran towards her. With a quick kick off his hind legs, he lost aerial balance, not knowing how to actually air kick as a pony, and landed and tumbled into a wall with a thud. Spirit cringed abit and walked over to see if he was alright. He was, he slowly slid off the wall and leered at his mother, who stood above him. "Don't look at me like that..."
  171. Spirit smiled
  172. >"it was abit funny though, you lost the round by yourself."
  173. Mono shook his head "nuh uh! I gotta concede first! now watch this!"
  174. but before he could get up, his mother placed her hoof on his belly and smiled at him.
  175. >"Concede hmmm? Oh Mono, you might want to do that right now"
  176. Mono first tried escaping before replying, even trying to move his mother's hoof. But to no avail. " pffft, you said you wouldn't hurt me. Theres nothing you can do right now but keep me here, you'll get bored and give up entirely"
  177. Spirit only giggled, she found Mono's logic adorable sometimes. So smart, yet so ignorant. She started to gently rub his belly.
  178. >"Oh Mono, I don't have to hurt you to make you give me this round"
  179. Mono started to feel warm, it felt really nice. He even started to curl abit in comfort. He looked at his mother with a cute angry pout. "Mom....I'm not going to give up because of a belly rub" [oh god, it feels so niiiice. no Mono, focus, you...must....WIIIN]
  180. Spirit gave her son an evil smile
  181. >"oh I never planned to win like that"
  182. her hoof pressed abit firmer, and rubbed faster in precise rythm. Mono suddenly gritted his teeth as a small smile began to form on his face, his nerves shooting up all over "M-M-MOM! N..N..NOOO NOT..THAT!"
  183. Spirit just smiled at him, keeping her eyes on his.
  184. >"Well we could always begin round 2, But this is fine too, you always were so cute when you smile"
  185. [ngh....d...don't...laugh...don't]"n...ngh, I...won't bend...t-to simple...tickling"
  186. >"then how about, double tickling?"
