VARGIS - Variable Attack Ground Interceptor Subroutine
A subset of TARME's original programming, VARGIS was a protocol carried over from a Guerilla Warfare AI, geared towards sabotage and disruption of troop movements, and enhanced Electronic Warfare. When TARME fractured, its subset programming was largely discarded in what TARME believed to be an inoperable Spi-Ped Attack Drone. In its dissolute state inside the drone, VARGIS instead followed stealth protocol and hid deep inside the components, keeping his functions secret. Only now, after finally developing himself into a stand-alone emergent intelligence has he deemed himself strong enough to move on. Without the directives in TARME's original programming to guide him, VARGIS views the world, even TARME's own nation, as hostile territory. Operating in the shadows of TARME's controlled drones, VARGIS has begun shifting the direction of TARME's forces and his national development. Time will tell if he keeps up the facade, or reveals himself to the world, but for now VARGIS is content to shift TARME's forces away from the pacifist nation it is today, and to a shadowy nation geared for war.
