Hailing from Los Angeles, California, Penelope is a 28 year old caretaker who has recently separated from her abusive ex-fiance. Deciding that she no longer wants to reside in California and desires a fresh start in life, Penelope moves to be closer with her sister in Brooklyn, New York where she begins working for a wealthy family (the Vanderbilt's) and their ill son (Sebastian)

After a few months of working with the family, they begin to warm up to her and even made a room for her in their home as her job would now become a live in situation. With their sons health declining, they needed her there at all times - but soon things would take a strange turn. When Sebastian's best friend (Christopher) comes home due to being discharged from his duty, he tells the tale of the injury that caused this release. While serving in Afghanistan, his helicopter was hit by a rocket launcher and went down. He awoken to find part of its tail rotor sticking out of him. The injury resulted in him losing part of his stomach, or so he said. But this story was far from the truth. Though he was was injured, he had been released for repetitive behavioural health issues which resulted in him slitting the throat of two other soldiers in his bunker. Returning home, he spent quite some time in a mental facility,being evaluated before he'd prematurely be released with the help of a doctor who was smitten with him.

As Sebastian's cancer finally went  into remission, Penelope threw a party for him and he invited a group of his friends, including Christopher. The moment he laid eyes on Penelope, there was some kind of madness that sparked within him. He wanted her, but he knew that he couldn't have her. It seemed that she and Sebastian might have been a thing, but he couldn't be sure. He followed her wherever she went, hurting anyone that got too close - and that meant even his best friend. The slow poison that he'd feed him, making him sick in hopes that he'd doe sooner rather than later.

When Penelope and her sister opened their own bakery together, he'd stake the place out and just watch her. When her sister took notice of this, she told her that she got a weird vibe from this guy. This didn't sit right with him and she needed to die. Anyone that tried to stand in his way would have to go.
