Thanks to the diligent efforts of the Japan
Ground Self-Defense Force, many of the preparations had been put in place.
By this point, heavy field artillery, armored vehicles, first-aid ambulances,
antiaircraft cannons, and so on were being dispatched one after the other.
On the coastline, everyone was working with dizzying speed, finishing
up the barbed-wire perimeter.
