Osprey and Yang: Signing up for the Elim Cup

[The next day, morning time.]

"So I met the princess last night while you were sleeping..."
Were it be anyone else besides Yang, they would had been extremely ecstatic and asked Osprey many, many questions as he drove to the registration office to register both his monster and Yang's, but all she does is to glance at him before looking back through the window with a simple.  "Cool." It wasn't something special for her to think on as they drove towards the city of Ylisstol, bursting with life for today's the day of the registration of the Elimination Cup. Many trainers roaming the sidewalk with their monsters or in their cars hoping to make their mark in history. As far as the twins were concerned, they didn't cared for any of that. All they want to do, while they eventually arrived at the building--a dome-- to register, is to play their music in Castle Lowell. They get out of their car and look at the dome with their monsters, Iori looking quite bored and itching to fight as usual as Kyo look calm and ready for anything as they begin to walk towards the building.


As they do so, they hear many people muttering to themselves with most of the topic about the twins themselves. Walking through the doors to reveal the giant lobby with a lot of trainers inside with many officials holding it down as they take in the names of the monsters and their trainers for each rank make it even more obvious.

"Shit, it's them!"
"Who?...Oh no..."
"Awww man...here I was looking forward to winning.."
"Damnit, they're here?!?"


Many more phrases such as those were whispered as the twins made their way towards the Rank D register stand with some of the workers smiling at them. Whether it's forced or not, the twins don't care as they approached them and stop before them. "We are here to register for the Elimination Cup-Rank D." He rest a hand on Iori's head who sports a toothy grin hiding his bloodlust just barely as Yang does the same on Kyo's head who have a neutral look. "And I'm registering Kyo."


"Right, and I'll go ahead and put your names in with them.." The attendant put their info inside the system as she typed on the keyboard. After about 2 mins, she turn away from the desktop and smile at them. "Congrats! You're in the tourney and are among the last entrants. Good luck!" The twins nods and turn away from her as they walk away, they hear a familiar voice. "Hey guys!" A red blur crashes into Osprey and hug him before looking up at him revealing herself to be Ruby. "You guys are here!" Besides her is her mocchi, Flora, who waves at the two garus as Ruby let go of her older brother.


"Yes, we're here to take part in the elimination cup at the end of this month." Osprey answers her as Yang picks up from where he left. "We've been training hard, so if you come across us, don't expect any mercy from us." "Yeah..." Ruby looks around the room and noticed how on edge everyone is around her older siblings. "I see you two have gained a rep around these parts.." Osprey shrugs and crosses his arms with am unamused look. "Most of these people in here, we've beaten in tourneys. So they know what to expect from us."


"Right.." Ruby would be honest with herself and admit that even she felt intimidated by the two before her, having seen some of their vods and seeing how one-sided their matches have been. Safe to say that as far as the trainers involved felt, these 2 were the clear finalists. However, the media on the other hand had a different winner in mind... "So, everyone else is over there by the windows if you wanna come over?" She gestures to the side with a smile as the twins look at each other and shrug before looking at her. "Lead the way." Osprey tells her as Ruby nods and walk them towards where her friends were standing against the window with their monsters. Rhiannon and Edelgard locked in a conversation as the latter sits on Wilhelm's shoulder with Rin having Akuma besides her. Blake is sitting on a bench with Akira on her lap as they read a manga of DBZ as Pyra and Mythra seem to be talking to each other as their monsters soon see Ruby approaching them with the twins as Hikari point them out to Mythra. Upon seeing them, she does what she felt was the right thing to do.

"OSPREY!~" And with a great leap, she flies towards him and clung to him as he casually hug her back, allowing her to press her breasts against his chest. "Oh, I KNEW you would be here...how have you been?" She look up at him as she twirls a finger on his chest before getting dragged away by an annoyed Pyra. "Mythra, you can't just assault our friend here..." She groans before smiling briefly at the twins. "Greetings, seeing you two here means that you're both entering, right?" "You would be correct." Yang nods with her hand resting on Kyo's head. "One of us's gonna win." Osprey add in as he place his hands in his coat pockets, Iori staying quiet with a mean stare in his eyes.


"Very confident..." Blake speaks up as she close her book and walk to them with Akira on her shoulder, smiling softy at them. "As expected of anyone here to be honest. How have you two been?" "We've been fine." Yang answers her. "You?" "Well, I too have been doing some good training here and there with Akira." The eared mew meows in agreement as heavy footsteps is heard behind Blake as both Rhiannon and Edelgard comes up. "Yo!" Rhiannon smiles as she adjust her glasses. "I see the tourney have just gotten tougher...but it's cool cause me and Akuma gonna win, right boy?" She turn her head towards her Bethegeuse who buzzes in agreement. Edelgard playfully scoffs from atop of Wilhelm "As if, you all seem to be forgetting that since I'm in the tourney, it's gonna be me who shall rep Ylisse for Rank D as well as granting my personal wish.."


"No way, it's gonna be me!" Rhiannon hold a fist up at Edelgard, not letting her best friend believe that she will win this. "And once I win...my wish shall be granted..." "(A lifetime supply of chocolate!!)" Rin licks her lips in delight as Blake roll her eyes. "Not gonna happen, Rin...Me and Akira will win this one." "(And then once we do, I can finally get my hand on the limited edition of the last volume of DBZ signed by Toriyama himself!)" As Blake smiles to herself, Edelgard frowns at both her and Rin as she feels like her dream of getting more noblity to her family's name is more worthy than their owns, whatever they are.

"Well, I'm not sure if I have one.." Pyra rubs her chin with a worried expression before dropping it for an assured smile. "But I would love to represent Ylisse all the same!" "I will be the winner here..." Mythra scowls at her friends before placing a hand on her chest with a smug smile. "As for my wish..." One quick glance at an oblivious Osprey saids all she wanted to do with hers as she blushes and squees.

"(Not sure if I have a wish like Pyra...)" Ruby frowns before she look at her siblings who both look rather bored. "(I just wanna fight against them and see how well I stack up..)"  She shakes her head and put on a confident smile as she fistpumps "(I hope me and Flora come across at least one of them in bracket...)"


"...Well, It was nice to see you all, but we're gonna go now." Osprey nods at them and turn around to leave before he hears a call to them. "Halt, please." But it wasn't from none of the girls before them, but from another source as he and Yang turn to their left and see a red-haired woman with an armored Centaur that sports a lower white body walking behind her. With her is Jaune and his Suezo, Freddy, Ren with his Pepe, Ming-Tun. And an orange haired girl with a monster that's very odd, being a white-furred rhino like creature on a big wheel with big hands and very stubby feet. "Hey guys, how's things going?" Jaune waves at them with Freddy smiling behind him as Edelgard nods. "Well met, Arc. We're all doing fine as we can be."
"...Who are these guys?" Osprey lean towards Ruby who chuckles as she begin to explain, with the new group mingling with their friends as the red-head glances at the 3 siblings and their monsters occasionally.

"Well, you two fought the blonde male and the brunette male before, remember? It was at your first tourney together.." Yang and Osprey look at one another confused before nodding as they remember the Dove Cup months ago. "Oh, right, those two....Jaune and Ren?" Yang rubs her cheek, bored and uninterested. "And their monsters, a Suezo and Pepe that our Iori and Kyo beaten handily."

"Correct, Yang." Ruby nods as she continues. "And the females are their girlfriends. The orange haired girl is Nora Valkyrie, Ren's girlfriend who have a very loud personality--" "AND THEN I HAD THOR USED MEGA ROLLER ON THE PLANT AND IT WENT SMUSHED!!!" Nora screams as she smash her hands together with a maniacal smile, her Skunkroller(RR/Ripper) clapping his hands behind her in agreement as Rin sighs with a tired smile as the other group have forced smiles, no doubt from her loudness.


"....See what I mean?" Ruby nervously grins at her siblings who shrugs, not interested in the other group. "Cool." Osprey yawns as he look at Ruby. "Anything else?" "Well, the red haired girl is someone very importa--"

"Pardon me."
Ruby briefly looks very peeved as she turn around, removing it from her face as said red haired girl is behind her with a small smile and her Trojan(Centaur/Durahan) besides her. "I saw you three over here and decided to impose myself within, sorry." "Oh, Pyhrra!" Ruby waves at her as she turn to her siblings. "Osprey and Yang, meet Pyhrra Nikos, One of Ylisse best rising rookies, Next in line to the Nikos House, and older cousin to the princesses of Ylisse."


"....You're Lucina's cousin?" Osprey raise an eyebrow at her, not seeing the resemblance at all as everyone else besides Yang all give him widen eyes over calling the princess without her title. Pyhrra in particular merely hides it better than most of the people inside the room as she clears her throat. "Yes..Princess Lucina's older cousin. Pleased to meet you both." She place heavy empathize on the title as she nod to them. "I've heard interesting things about you both, whether as trainers...or your lineage."


"....What about us did you hear?" Yang frowns, not liking where this is going. Pyhrra hold her hand up to placate her. "Nothing terrible, It was just stuff regarding the connection between the royal family and the Branwens regarding how the Hero-King Marth was able to defeat the then-leader of the nefarious bandit clan's leader, Ayra, who submitted to him as the ruler of Altea during his war against the demonic dragon Grima and the Grimleal. There's also both of you guys's impressive record in the ring...." "Grimleal? Grima?" Osprey raise an eyebrow, which makes Pyhrra frowns, seeing how both of them don't know about this. "You mean to tell me that you both don't know about the history of the Branwen Clan and how they were formed?"

"We know the stuff we need to know, not about shit that we don't know nor do we care about.." Yang frowns with a shrug as Ruby begin to notice from her time being around the twins that they were getting a bit annoyed from their clenched fists with Osprey's in his coat and Yang's crossing her arms. Not helping is how Iori is snarling a bit and even Kyo have a face of annoyance aimed at Achilles. "(I don't think they like her...)" Flora is kinda nervous as the others behind them look at the scene before them. "Wonder what they're talking about..." Rhiannon muses as Edelgard shakes her head. "Doubtful it's something we need to know.."

"....I don't care about whether this is true or not, but I'll ask Lucina next time I see her." Osprey sighs with an scowl, not seeing how Pyhrra looks annoyed by the lack of respect on her younger cousin's title.

"....Princess Lucina." Pyhrra repeats with a forced smile. "I call her whatever I like." Osprey scowls, not understanding the decorum he's missing out as the redhead sighs. "Well, hey, how do you think you and Achilles will do here?" Ruby, hoping to smooth the growing tension over, decides to go to a light hearted topic "Ah, that's a good question, Ruby." The older girl smiles at her as her Achilles rest his spear against his body. "We will win it for sure, no doubt about that. After all, me and Achilles here trained very hard for the tour--"


"We will win." Both twins proclaim at the same time as they frown at her, getting an amused look from Pyhrra as Ruby gulps, knowing how her siblings can get. "And no matter who's before us...we will crush them beneath our heels." Yang scowls at the red head. and stomp the floor loud as she make some cracks beneath her, scaring most of the people inside. "Or rip them to shreds with all claws.." Osprey flexes his right hand with his nails being painted black and rather sharp looking. "Oho...I'm impressed by the both of you's confidence.." She gives Achilles an small smile filled with some unintentional smugness. "But you do realized that we, the humans, aren't battling and our monsters are, right?"

"....."
Ruby knew those looks on the twin's faces. The looks of them calculating how much property damage can be done. "We know that, you think our Garus can't beat your Achilles?" Yang frowns as she glares at Pyhrra, not liking the vibe of arrogance she was getting from her. "No, Although I feel like they will be tough ones to beat for sure.." She glances at both Iori and Kyo, both of whom are looking quite agitated at the moment of being look down on. "I've fought many Garus before with plenty of experience. I also have much more on the line as a Nikos and relative to the royal family." She put on a serious look. "Sorry, but I'll win this tourney."

Murmurs from the now forming crowd forms as most of the people are hoping that Pyhrra beats the Branwens if only to avenge them for losing to the twins as her friends and the twins's friends watches. "You think they can beat her?" Rin asked Edelgard who was gonna answer, but Mythra beats her to it with an annoyed glance. "Of course they can! Osprey in particular will destroy her!" Edelgard roll her eyes. "...Well, I wouldn't say he will crush her...but I feel like he can win." "If not.." Blake rubs her chin. "Then Yang for sure..." "Yeah, I was thinking more of Yang as well." Rin nods as she adjust her glasses..

"Now hold on..." Jaune hold a hand up with a small frown as he prepares to defend his girlfriend's honor. "No disrespect to either one, but Pyhrra here trains 24/7 with amazing gadgets and the results to prove it. You can't just say that either Branwen will not only beat her, but handily at that." Ren clears his throat.. "Agreed, Pyhrra's pretty smart and Achilles's insanely strong."

"She will crush them like pancakes! Tasty pancakes!" Nora shouts as Pyhrra sweatdrops a bit before shaking her head with a confident smile. "Well, what is it you two are fighting for? What wish you two have that you will risk running into me and Achilles."

The twins frown at her, Ruby standing closer to them with a worried look. "What we fight for is something very dear to us..." Osprey speaks up... "And it's the right...." Yang continues..

Everyone pays attention to them, itching to hear what they wanna wish for.

The twins point at the ceiling with their usual calm looks. "To rock out at the castle with our music!"

"That's soooo cool...." Mythra fawns over them with Pyra rubbing her chin in thought. "That's...a cool goal, I suppose." "The right to party?" Rin nods with a sage look. "I can support such a thing.." She turns to Edelgard who nods. "While it's not something I would do, I suppose we all have hobbies." "Oh man, their music is actually really good..." The two girls turn to Blake who have a rare smile as she look at them. "If they win, they gonna become superstars..."

"Wow...I need to hear them out them..." "(As well as have sex with them, damnit!)" Rin begin to think of a plan of such thing as Ruby seems very...excited. "YOU GUYS PLAY MUSIC!?!?" The twins nod at the same time with serious looks. "Not just us..." Osprey place a hand on Iori's head. "But our monsters have recently started as well...Iori on the drums." "And Kyo as our pianist. It helps them train as well." Yang look at Ruby with a small smirk. "It's a Branwen thing."

"..To play music?" Pyhrra tilts her head with a confused look. "That's it?" "That's all that's needed for us..." Osprey scowls, not liking the tone of voice she have at the moment. "And to say otherwise is to insult us..."

"I see...." She take a moment to absorb this before walking off with her Achilles. "Well...I suppose I know all I need to know then...good luck at the tourney." She felt rather amused by her conversation with them as well as feeling like she don't have to worry much about the twins in the tourney. "(They probably won't get past the first round...Nothing to worry about.)"
The twins watches her walk off before they turn abruptly and walk towards the exit of the room. "Hey, wait!" Ruby call out to them, but they don't stop walking with their garus, not hearing their sister's next line. "But I wanted..to introduce you to dad..." She frowns and sighs as she feel a hand on her thigh and see Flora cheering her up.


"Man, what a bitch.." Ruby hears Rhiannon from behind as she and the others with their monsters come up to her. Pyhrra's group having left them. "Typical Noble shit." Glacing a scowl on her face. "Always thinking better of themselves above others..." She quickly look at Edelgard and clear her throat. "Not all of them tho.." "Th-thanks." Edelgard briefly smiles before sighing. "...You think the twins are gonna be all--"

A sudden boom is heard outside of the room as a small indent of a fist is created on the wall with some cracks on it as well as debris falling down off of it. "Good....sothis..." Pyra mutters with a hand to her first as Mythra whistles. "You know, those two can honestly sign themselves up for a tourney and can at least beat a monster up." "Oh come on..." Blake roll her eyes. "They're..." Thinking of the best word to describe them. "Abnormal, but they are still human."

"(I don't think Mythra's wrong...)" Thinking back to what went down in the cave as well as what her brother told her makes Ruby believe that there's something more to the Branwen bloodline. "(I think Uncle Qrow knows something...maybe I can ask him.)"


Ruby keeps that in her head as she hears plans from her friends about hanging out in the mall before they all go their separate ways to their ranches. Meanwhile, the twins are speedwalking to their car with their coat fluttering behind them and their monsters walking besides them. They get inside of their car and slam their doors as they drive off, Yang's hand covered with some dust from the wall as she sighs with a small frown.

"...I wanted to knock her head off, Osprey." With a deadpan tone, she look out the window. "....I felt the same." He answers back softly, his hands tightly on the steering wheel while driving. "But it's gonna be ok, one of us will fight her...and we will crush her."

They look at each other and smirk with malicious tones and back at their monsters who do the same before they drive back home.
