  1. The people of Rin follow a religion known as The Way, worshipping a single deity named the All-In-One or simply God. This god represents the concept of duality and disparity. The All-In-One is omnipotent and very fickle, acting on a whim as is its nature. Those that pray to the All-In-One do so both out of respect and out of fear, as it is just as likely to grant a great boon as it is to strike down those that would try to commune with it. It is depicted as a ten-headed snake with a coiled tail (http://i.imgur.com/dUP91Z6.jpg), and this same symbol has come to be the banner of all Rin.
  2. The All-In-One is divided into ten different aspects representing two opposite domains:
  3.
  4. Uzena, the Chastened Maid
  5. Uzena is the goddess of Oath and Abandon, represented as a pair of linked shackles. She is the patron goddess of Aloria. Legend states that Uzena was not bound by anyone save Herself, and that Her shackles are Her own design. Those that follow the word of Uzena value loyalty, and are known for keeping their promises and ensuring others do the same.
  6.
  7. Zoarus, the Crippled Duke
  8. Zoarus is the god of Purpose and Folly, represented by a mirror. He is the patron god of Jevel. Followers of Zoarus value truth and wisdom, ever seeking greater knowledge and understanding of the world around them. Disciples of Zoarus are forbidden from telling lies, and expected to share their wisdom for the greater good.
  9.
  10. Myna, the Veiled Widow
  11. Myna is the goddess of Pain and Pleasure, represented by a rose. She is the patron goddess of Geldra. The Widow's body is said to be covered in scratches and scars. Her priests value equality and balance, punishing themselves for inordinate behavior. This suggests a link between The Way and the Faith of Order of the Eastern Isles.
  12.
  13. Ytarr, the Mason King
  14. God of Hope and Despair, Ytarr is represented by a mallet. He is the counterpart of Etaris, the two often being worshipped as one. Most followers of Ytarr are soldiers who pray to Him before a battle, asking for high morale. A disciple of Ytarr is discouraged from idle behavior.
  15.
  16. Etaris, the Forlorn Mother
  17. Goddess of Loss and Longing, represented by a nail. Counterpart to Ytarr, Etaris is one of the most important aspects of the All-In-One. She is said to have given away Her heart, bearing the Star of Rin in its stead. Often simply referred to as Mother or Mother-On-High, her followers say that the people of Rin are born from Her, and in the end return to Her.
  18.
  19. Abteus, the Carefree Son
  20. Abteus is the god of Chance and Whim, represented by a pinwheel. He is said to play carelessly beyond the reach of time, living forever in the moment. Many that pray to Abteus are gamblers and risk-takers, hoping for good fortune. His most devout followers have many small rituals that they must follow, including:
  21. -When a drink is spilled, the offender must drink what's left quickly then turn the cup upside down, or it will bring bad luck.
  22. -Rats may only be killed by drowning, or the subject will suffer an infestation.
  23. -Putting dirt in boots at night ensures a good sleep.
  24. -Salting the earth around a home wards off evil spirits. Gardens are a rare sight in Aloria as a result.
  25. -A mane that reaches the waist is very lucky.
  26. -Cloves of garlic will ward off illness.
  27. -After receiving a container of food, the container should never be returned empty.
  28. -Clothes worn inside out will bring good luck.
  29. -While travelling, one cannot cut their hair, beard or nails until they reach their destination, or else they will suffer terrible luck.
  30.
  31. Gadris, the Tower Keeper
  32. Gadris is the goddess of Health and Atrophy, represented by a rook. Half of her face is said to be that of a maiden in her prime, and the other an old crone. Her followers value inner strength, and are known for living a much longer life than others, although they are prone to disease.
  33.
  34. Raam, the Wakeful One
  35. God of Commotion and Order, Raam is represented by a shield. He is the patron god of Briom, and the walls of that city are adorned with his image as a result. His followers value physical strength, as well as patience. A follower of Raam cannot step down from a face-to-face challenge; if insulted or slighted they are expected to settle the matter, even in blood.
  36.
  37. Vanber, the Feasting Host
  38. Vanber is the god of Hunger and Plenty, represented by a tree branch. He is said to grow ever larger yet remains insatiable, His eyes awash with tears. This serves as a reminder of when to have enough. Followers of Vanber often live excessive lifestyles, but are known for having shortened lifespans. He is also often prayed to by the poor.
  39.
  40. Drothen, the Morning Rider
  41. Goddess of Cowardice and Bravery, Drothen is often represented by a wheel. She is the patron goddess of Lomar. Legends say that the Morning Rider affects the wishes of all citizens upon the break of each new day, and that every time she stamps her hoof, somepony makes a decision. Her followers are impulsive and forward-thinking, often being the first to take initiative.
