  1. Hi Chris,
  2.
  3. Thank you for reviewing our previous appeal. I greatly appreciate your time and effort in helping to resolve the termination of our developer account.
  4.
  5. I would like to provide additional relevant details as part of our third appeal and kindly request that you thoroughly review all the information I provide.
  6.
  7. It appears that Google’s powerful detection AI has assessed our account as being associated with previously terminated accounts. However, I must reiterate that we are not associated with any such accounts, and we are quite certain of this. I understand that simply stating this may not be sufficient to resolve the issue, but it is important for us to express our position clearly.
  8.
  9. To provide further context, here are additional details regarding our Global Geek Tech Developer Account (geekpanjust@gmail.com) and related activities that may have contributed to this severe account association termination:
  10. • Account Access: Two individuals have access to this account, and we are confident that neither of us has had any previous accounts terminated. This is our first and only account. We access it using multiple devices, including a MacBook, iPhone, and Android devices, and we are certain that none of these devices have ever been associated with any terminated accounts.
  11. • VPN Use in Myanmar: One of our team members, who is currently living in Myanmar and responsible for publishing our Geek VPN app to the Play Store, had to use a VPN while accessing Google services and publishing the app bundle. This was necessary due to unstable internet traffic caused by the Myanmar military junta, which has made it difficult to use online services, even though Google services are not completely banned. As a result, our IP address while accessing Google services may have been unstable.
  12. • Unrelated App: We are not associated with the app (com.geektools.vpn.free), which appears to have been banned from the Play Store. We believe that Google can verify the codebase differences between our Geek VPN app (org.geekvpn.client) and the banned app (com.geektools.vpn.free). To facilitate this, we can provide access to our Geek VPN repository, which is currently hosted privately on GitHub, or even share the source code as a ZIP file. We believe that having a similar name to a banned app should not be sufficient grounds for terminating our developer account. Additionally, we trust that Google uses multiple signals when determining such severe account association terminations, rather than solely relying on a name match with a banned app.
  13. • Google AdMob Application Rejection: Our Google AdMob application was recently rejected without any inquiry or explanation, while we were still developing Geek VPN. We suspect this may be because our app is not yet publicly available on the Play Store.
  14.
  15. In light of the above details, as well as those provided in our previous appeals, we kindly request that you reconsider the termination of our developer account. We understand that Google’s AI tools are powerful, but even AI can sometimes make mistakes. We believe this is why the appeal system exists.
  16.
  17. We respectfully request human intervention in our case to thoroughly review our provided information and identify any factors that may have wrongly triggered this severe account association termination, rather than relying solely on AI-generated results.
  18.
  19. Regarding our Geek VPN app, we believe there are no issues, as we did not receive any rejection or suspension notices before the account termination. The app has straightforward functionality, containing only two screens: a main screen with “Connect” and “Add Time” buttons, and a server listing screen labeled “Choose Server.” We have already explained these app functionalities in detail in our previous appeal. Our app does not contain any dangerous permissions, malicious code, or anything harmful to users. If Google has any concerns about suspicious activities related to our Geek VPN app, we would appreciate it if you could let us know which policies our app might have violated, rather than terminating our entire developer account.
  20.
  21. What we have done:
  22. • Our developer has already verified identification and payment profile. (I have attached the document used to verify our identity in case you want to review it.)
  23. • Our Geek VPN app successfully passed an app review during the publication of the closed testing track.
  24. • We conducted a 14-day closed testing phase with over 70 testers, who were invited from the VPN Helping small Facebook group. (These testers are actual users, not just testers, and they are still actively using our app. Please refer to the attached Firebase screenshot for verification.)
  25. • We answered all questions and successfully applied for production access.
  26.
  27. We understand the challenges and complexities involved in managing a vast number of apps and developers, and we genuinely appreciate the effort that goes into maintaining the integrity of the platform. We are fully committed to adhering to all Google Play policies and are prepared to implement any specific changes or additional actions recommended to ensure compliance. If there are any particular areas of concern or issues that we may have overlooked, we would be grateful for your feedback and will address them promptly.
  28.
  29. It feels unfair to have our developer account terminated at the final step of publishing our app to production without any prior alert or warning email. If targeting all countries during the app's release to production is an issue, we are willing to restrict our app to Myanmar.
  30.
  31. Terminating our developer account not only threatens my career as an Android developer but also significantly hinders our efforts to support the people of Myanmar by providing freedom of speech, access to essential online services, and unrestricted internet access.
  32.
  33. In Myanmar, there are very few VPN services available due to the military junta's crackdown on VPNs, aimed primarily at preventing access to social media platforms like Facebook. We used my Japanese ID to verify this developer account to avoid putting my developer friend in Myanmar at serious risk, including imprisonment or worse, as Google Play Store publicly displays developer information. Despite these risks, we developed this app to support freedom of speech in Myanmar, making it vital for us and the people of Myanmar.

  42. I kindly request that you reconsider the termination of our account based on the additional information and clarifications provided above. Thank you for your time and understanding, and I look forward to your positive response.
  43.
  44. Best regards,

  45. Global Geek Tech
