1. “Strive for perfection? That would be boring. I guess there are some people who want to be perfect. But if I had no flaws then no one could possibly defeat me. And that would suck out all the fun of a fight. I strive for enough power to accomplish my objectives and compete with the strongest fighters in my universe. That in itself is a tall order though. I don't even have a God form yet.”
2.
3. That was the gap that put Tomina in arena 2 and not arena one. Tomina was sure that Universe 4 had their own powerhouses with God forms. It irked Tomina that such a large gap existed between her and 3 people in her universe who she couldn’t stand being stronger then her.
4.
5. At least Nasu was tolerable. Koma and Jarvis though… she was infuriated that she was outclassed by those two. Someday she would get a god form of her own, and get on their level.
6.
7. Tomina wasn't naive to how things worked. What Fusa described were people in a nutshell. It was a conclusion that the hybrid had come to a long time ago. So it was nothing new to her.
8.
9. “Everyone has their own dreams and ambitions. Whoever has the most power can make their dreams a reality. This is the world that we have created and maintained for thousands of years. This tournament is no different. Only the winners will continue to exist.”
10.
11. Tomina actually chuckled when Fusa said that there were people who had nothing to lose. Honestly this heroism was amusing to Tomina. It was admirable on its own way if it was the actual goal someone set out to do, and not as a means to an end. But still the idea was laughable.
12.
13. “You’re still seeing things from an individual’s perspective. Well, I suppose it's harder for you not to see people in that fashion. I myself only have two people that I love and some I respect. As for everyone else, they only serve one function at this point. The more people are alive, the higher the mortal level is.”
14.
15. Honestly Tomina loathed the majority of her universe. The Saiyan Empire had fought the Kold Empire for centuries. And the Kold had employed many races under them. Plus, saying she wasn’t on good terms with humans or demons would be an understatement. She couldn't just slaughter her enemies by the dozens any more though: for their lives kept everyone from being erased.
16.
17. “You wish to be a kai, right? Do you know what that means? It means that you have to act in the best interests of your universe as a whole, not just on a person to person basis. Think about it: do you think the Kais would talk to just anyone? Of course not. They interact the most with people who can impact their universe the most. It's why they approached you for this tournament in the first place. If you were weak, you wouldn't even know about the dire situation your universe is in.”
18.
19. Even though Tomina found his naivete a bit amusing, she didn’t take pleasure in telling him these kind of things. If it was an enemy from universe 7 she would have enjoyed tearing away at them psychologically. But that wasn’t the case with Fusa.
20.
21. With the exception of the two demons, the wolf, and the Arlian, most of universe 4 seemed to be made up of decent people. She had never encountered Fusa’s race before, so she had no hatred towards his kind like she did towards the Crocolisk, which were one of the many races thst fought for Kolds and later on the Brenchians. Still she continued onward though. She had a fight to win after all.
22.
23. “Perhaps individually some people still have much to lose. But our universes themselves matter more. As a whole, they have nothing less to lose. So why not risk the dragonballs at those point? Speaking of those though, do you understand what it would mean to wish to be reborn as a Kai? You would have to wish for a full reincarnation. If you become a Kai with your current viewpoints and mindset, you would be unable to handle it. I suspect that's part of why Caesar is the way he is.”
24.
25. Tomina wasn't lying about her viewpoints here. This was the understanding she had of things by what she had seen so far. That wasn’t going to stop her from trying to wear Fusa down mentally. If she could win the mental battle, she could create an opening she could exploit.
26.
27. “Not all lives are worth the same. The stronger people are naturally the more influential people. Which is why the Kai’s tried to stop the invasion force I was a part of, and resorted to using the Alliance as their pawns to defeat us. They even taught them a technique that fused two fighters into one.”
28.
29. The Kai’s had tried to stop Nasu twice since she joined him. The second time they managed to succeed, albeit by using an ace in the hole none of them could have predicted. They clearly prioritized Earth and Brench over the welfare of the Saiyans, despite the fact that they had lost planet after planet.
30.
31. "The Kai’s refer to us mortals as their children. Yet not all lives are equal to them. The Kai’s value Saiyan life the least. They never came to our help when we needed it. Where were they in our 200 year war against the Kold Demons? Our homeworld was destroyed and we had to use the dragonballs to bring everyone back. We did that on our own, and built the greatest Empire our universe had ever seen. Where were the Kai’s when Caesar took over my home world? Hell, they didn’t even come to the aid of the so called “good” Saiyans on Natto.”
32.
33. Tomina let out a snort, shaking her head back and forth. There was a bit of pride in her inflection when she mentioned the feats that her face had accomplished. But mainly there was just resentment in her tone.
34.
35. "But they came to the rescue of the Earthlings and the Brenchians. When we invaded Brench after the destruction of our homeworld again, they were like “please don't hurt the poor innocent Brenchians! I know that they serve the madman that blew up your planet, but killing them is wrong!”
36.
37. Tomina grit her teeth, embers flying off her hair and scattering throughout the battlefield. Those worthless immortals, what had they done for them? Nothing, absolutely nothing.
38.
39. "Then they pulled out all the stops to save Earth. One of the Kais fused with the kin of the leader of the Alliance. I suppose they figured it would help them cooperate if they became related to them. The Kai then directly tried to stop us by engaging us on Earth. They even taught our enemies how to fuse and combine into one powerful fire. They said they wanted to protect the mortal level. Then where were they all the times we were in trouble? If Saiyans die it's no big deal. But God forbid that Brench and Earthlings are killed!”
40.
41. Tomina’s hair glowed red, the temperature rising substantially and more embers dispersed through the air. The hybrid's powers were tied to her emotions, so one could literally feel her anger. Suddenly, Tomina threw back her head and laughed. There was no joy at all within it. It was a laugh full of bitterness and resentment towards the Gods she hated so.
42.
43. "But they sure do come crawl to us in a hurry whenever they need our help. They went to the Alliance, an opposing Saiyan faction in order to stop us on Earth. And then they came to us for help when they needed warriors for their tournament. There's only 3 people on our team that have no traces of Saiyan blood in their veins, and all 3 of them are in the weakest arena. But that's the only value of the Saiyans to them. Convenient tools to save their sorry asses. I mean, they neglect us for years and then practically begged for us to get them out of this shit! What a farce!”
44.
45. Tomina continued laughing. Even in her anger towards them she found them pathetic. She respected Lagerus for her strength. The others were pathetic beings who couldn’t do anything though. They wouldn't have had a chance of survival had the Saiyans refused to take part in the tournament. Finally her laughter quieted down to a chuckle, and she looked over at her opponent again.
46.
47. “So then, what will you do when you become a Kai? Let's say many different races are fighting in a war. Do you stand by and do nothing, hoping for things to get better? Would you try and broker a peace between them? Will you help one side over the other? That's what being a Kai means Fusa. You have to choose which lives have more value for the sake of the universe. The Kai’s in my universe chose to forsake the Saiyans, except when they need them. They made the wrong decision, and look where we are now. What is your plan for saving your universe?”
48.
49. Tomina nodded grimly when Fusa said that he would remember her if she fell. It was another reminder of the desperate situation that they found themselves in. The stakes could not be any higher for any of them.
50.
51. “Likewise, I won’t forget you Fusa. Should you lose to me, you’ll remember me until the end, if the rest of your team fails you. And should your team be victorious, you can continue your work and never forget this day for as long as you live.”
52.
53. Tomina just listened to Fusa’s story. It was all she could do considering that she had been engaged in a beam struggle with him. When she finally pushed through and hit him, that was when she decided to speak. She had to raise her voice to make it audible over the whirling tornado of fire.
54.
55. “Mind control eh? Those techniques are rather insidious. That sort of thing won't work on most Saiyans though: we developed a technique to protect ourselves from that sort of thing. It’s the same old story over at your end. The Kold Demons conquered other species and used them for their own ends. It's what they tried to do with us. But Saiyans don’t fall so easily. Since you’ve shared your life story with me, it's only fair I tell you mine. The story of the Saiyans that I promised to tell you about.”
56.
57. The flames dispersed, flying through the air over the arena. The blue flames crackled all over the place. In the center of it all was Tomina. She had gone through some very notable changes. Her hair had turned brown again, save for the back of it. The red locks that waved out behind her flickered and danced as a bonfire would. The armor on her legs had melted at a pool on her feet. Although her shoes had managed to remain intact somehow, along with the rest of her clothing.
58.
59. Her eyes had turned an ashen grey, the scylla around it taking a darker tinge of color along with it. Most notable of all was the heat and power that emanated from her. It was on a much higher level then it had been prior. Tomina had ascended to the ranks of some of the strongest fighters to have ever existed in her universe.
60.
61. [div align="center"][/div]
62.
63. “The modern Era of my universe begins with the 200 year war between the Saiyans and the Kold Demons. I’m not going to sugarcoat things and tell you that we were just living our lives peacefully. Cause we weren't, far from it in fact. But the Kold Demons were the ones who initiated the conflict. There seemed to be no end to the war on sight. And then my mother achieved something which we had been nothing more than an old Saiyan legend."
64.
65. Tomina had a smile on her face. Even in the face of all that had happened, she was still proud that she was the daughter of perhaps the most influential and successful Saiyan ruler to ever live. Even if her actions had contributed to the current state of the universe, she prided herself on the blood that flowed through her veins.
66.
67. “She achieved the golden form, the legendary Super Saiyan. She was recognized as the strongest warrior alive, and was crowned as Queen Lettis, ruler of all Saiyans. Soon other Saiyans were able to follow her lead and obtained that legendary form. One by one the planets controlled by the Kold Demons fell to the power of the Super Saiyans. Until at last we claimed victory and forced them to abandon their home world. Next my mother set her sights on Earth. If we could take over a planet where the Dragon Balls resided, then the Saiyans would have ruled over everything forever.”
68.
69. A dark look spread across her face. That had been the height of Saiyan supremacy. It had lasted for decades, but even that golden Era could not last forever.
70.
71. “Earth proved to be tougher than anticipated. And one of our strongest warriors betrayed us in a critical moment. His name was Natto. We lost, and were forced to retreat. Natto and his mate Tomoroko founded the Saiyan Alliance, which believed in living a more peaceful life. Many of our strong warriors joined them. Without them our enemies began to gain ground on our weakened forces. My mother partook in many projects to regain the advantage against Natto. Me and my twin sister were bred as part of her efforts. But Natto didn't wait for us to grow up.”
72.
73. Tomina’s smile faded, hatred blazing within her eyes. It was one of the few things should would never forgive Natto for. Even if a thousand years past, she would likely never let it go.
74.
75. “Natto decided to end the war between the two Saiyan factions and brought the fight to us. My mother fought him in one on one combat and fell. Shortly after the main fight, Natto and Tomoroko were killed, despite having won the war. And thus the greatest Saiyans of that generation died. For many years there was a power vacuum.”
76.
77. Tomina looked over towards where arena 1 was. Those fighters truly were on a level of their own. She couldn't even fathom the power that they had. For their true might was beyond her capabilities to sense.
78.
79. “Four main factions eventually filled the void. Nasu, Natto's oldest son, founded the Saiyan Galactic Kingdom and established himself as its ruler. He and the Saiyans who follow him believe in a philosophy similar to my mothers, albeit on a smaller scale Komatsu, his younger brother, has carried on the ideals of his parents and heads the Remnant Alliance. And then you have Caesar, who's Empire has joined forces with the Demon realm to crush anyone who stands in his way. You could feel their power earlier right? I’ve finally managed to surpass my mother, and yet I’m still outclassed by two of Natto’s spawn and that foul entity.”
80.
81. She really felt like she was running on a conveyor belt. Just when she managed to move forward, everyone else sped away out of her grasp. It was frustrating because she wouldn't be able to enforce her will as long as there existed people who could defeat her effortlessly. No, her current level of power wouldn't suffice in this day and age. She would have to obtain the same abilities that those in arena 1 had. Tomina looked over at Fusa, gazing at him solemnly.
82.
83. “I am the last living Saiyan of my bloodline. My twin sister, mother, and uncle all fell to Natto and the alliance. My half brother Athren perished at the hands of Caesar. I failed them all those years ago, because I was weak. But now I have the power to save the souls of those I respect and care about. I will also fulfill my sisters dream, the one she requested for me to make a reality with her dying words. I won’t let anyone stop me this time. Even if it means condemning an entire universe to oblivion."
84.
85. Now that there was a break in the action in the fight with her and Fusa, Tomina was able to observe what was happening in other parts of arena. The wolf creature and the Yardratian has fired some very strong attacks at Cornatto. He took a considerable amount of damage, but managed to get out of it by the skin of his teeth. Chris was still charging his signature technique. Tomina turned to Fusa, a faint little smirk appearing on her lips.
86.
87. “Hey, it seems like you and me are being left in the dust. I know that technique my comrade is firing. Whoever it hits will be obliterated. So it will be a 3 vs 2 situation. I can hold Chris off from interfering in our fight and the battle the old man is fighting, as long as you solely focus on me and tell him to do the same thing with his opponent. That way we can go all out without having to worry about repercussions. What do you say Fusa?”
88.
89. Tomina took a fighting stance, holding one arm out in front of her while holding up a few fingers next to her face with the other hand. Blue flames swirled around her, although they didn't seem to be part of some kind attack. Fire flowed more freely around Tomina in this form.

Is he using the excess energy for some other purpose? I can't recklessly attack this guy. He’s probably going to try and tire me out.>
94.
95. Tomina studied Fusa, waiting for him to make the next move. His defenses were pretty powerful, since he had taken on her attack with little trouble. She figured that with all that armor he wouldn't go down easily. She would have to find a way to turn things in her favor.
