  1. [18:16] Eyes traveled behind dark tinted sunglasses as the Warden waited for everyone to gather around as they had the first time. She didn't expect there to be as many people as the first class due to the time, but she at least hoped for a decent turnout.
  2.
  3. A hum left her as she turned to look towards Ariel who sat beside her. A brief smile flashed before turning back to the others. A deep breath filled her lungs and her hands would clap together, the sound amplified by her magic to echo around the area and gain everyone's attention.
  4.
  5. "Alright everyone, I guess this will be all that are showing up on time at least. First off, if anyone who has done their homework wants to hand it in, now would be the time to do so. I'll be grading all the ones I've received over the next few days and handing out the rewards accordingly. I will also be making an announcement at the end of class pertaining to one
  6. of your classmates. Leonaus students might have a particular interest. "
  7.
  8. "While that's happening though. I'll give you all a question, answer freely though be respectful to your peers and don't talk over one another." She paused looking around one last time.
  9.
  10. "Aside from those who have been attacked by spirits. What ways do the people of Esshar interact with them?" It was a simple question, one to test the waters and see just where everyone's heads were on the topic before she would expand on it all.
  11. (Wynne Meztin)
  12. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  13.
  14. [18:19] The boy tapped his chin. This question didn't seem so hard, so a simple answer would be given.
  15.
  16. "Spirits, such as nethradin can contract others into giving their souls away.."
  17. (Séarlas)
  18. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  19.
  20. [18:20] Awkward gaze drifts off to the side as he scratches his cheek. He wasn't even here for the last class, so hearing that there was homework put him in a uncomfortable position. Hopefully, there was others like him so that he wouldn't feel as bad.
  21. (Han Hein)
  22. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  23.
  24. [18:20] Perhaps he had become more accentuated to the subjects of this class than the introductory lesson. Many things happen by the scale of months, what more years?
  25.
  26. Swiftly, Jude makes do to speak up. The stoic countenance paired by the faint show of a distant gaze unveils a tumultuous combination of words for a notable retort.
  27.
  28. "If you're lucky enough to have both an item to commune to a spirit and be in a place where you'd think a spirit would thrive in, communing with them becomes far easier." If the ghost hunt within the Maid Café he and Aquila hosted a year prior were any indication, he clearly spoke from experience.
  29.
  30. "Y'can't just do it anywhere and anytime though," he adds. "Sometimes, everythin' has to align for y'to sense them at all. Or else you'll just be sittin' still doin' nothin'."
  31. (Jude Cirque)
  32. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  33.
  34. [18:20] Malak bel Yalar says, "Sorry m'late, here's my homework."
  35. [18:21] Ears perk upward as the voice of Wynne is registered by Bao. Listening carefully to the older woman with obvious excitement lace upon her expression.
  36.
  37. Although the talk of homework and other such things intimidated her. She enrolled later then others. However she was going to let that deter her.
  38.
  39. "People do many things with spirits! They make pacts with them, Communicate and even pray to many such. I think an example of such is Eos? Although I could be wrong!" She most likely was. But it was an attempt to get her thinking processes warmed up and updated to take in any new info headed her way.
  40.
  41.
  42. (Bao Mao Ren)
  43. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  44.
  45. [18:21] "Hm.."
  46.
  47. While he says nothing regarding the homework, considering that this is his first time attending a class like this, at the same time the experiences with the spirits are something that have been only vaguely there for him.
  48.
  49. Only to an extent.
  50.
  51. Still, as much as it was a rather small experience altogether, a small one is better than none at all- as such, he remarks.
  52.
  53. "Aren't they everywhere the life is?"
  54.
  55. "Through raw mana and ether they can make manifestation, but I think most spirits remain beyond the veil."
  56.
  57. Still...
  58.
  59. "The lot of them represent the life around us, even down to base elements, such as spirits of fire, of water, and air, and so on."
  60.
  61. At least that's the conclusion he reached based off explanations offered to him earlier. Though..
  62.
  63. "But it's not that simple to see them - let alone interact with them."
  64.
  65. "So, if you meant directinteraction with spirits? Not that many... they mostly take place within indirect interaction, like through aspects."
  66.
  67. But maybe he was wrong.
  68.
  69. That's why he came here to learn.
  70. (Samuel Irvin)
  71. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  72.
  73. [18:22] Judas arrives a bit late.
  74. (Judas Ravilla)
  75. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  76.
  77. [18:23] Fanune twiddles her thumbs. She has neither an answer, nor homework from the last class. Cough.
  78. (Fanune)
  79. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  80.
  81. [18:23] Spirits. He knew a great deal about the subject but his knowledge was definitely different from an average Osronan. So he keeps his mouth shut and listens to the answers of his classmates.
  82. (Malak bel Yalar)
  83. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  84.
  85. [18:24] Alice had missed the first class Wynne's, but that's okay! She's here for the second one. Really, though, she doesn't have much active knowledge in the spirits. But she does have a few questions, and so following Wynne's own she looks to Jude.
  86.
  87. "I don't know a lot, but isn't the idea that just...existing means you interact with spirits constantly? Even if you can't tell?"
  88.
  89. Not quite an answer to Wynne, more just asking her friend for help.
  90. (Alice)
  91. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  92.
  93. [18:24] While everyone was more or less answering the question the youth was furiously drawing on a piece of paper. He wasn't prone to opening his mouth because he had no idea how the average person came in contact with spirits.
  94.
  95. More or less the only advice he had gotten thus far was from that pretty lad Aquila Yakim. Though the person in question seemed to be apart of the class!
  96.
  97. People were speaking answers back and forth, and honestly it seemed like most of the kids had some inkling of confidence in their answers.
  98. (Samir)
  99. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  100.
  101. [18:24] The young woman would slowly rub her chin. Probably the spirits of Esshar weren't as heavily interactable. Whilst not entirely adjusted towards the situation, she would state what she believed.
  102.
  103. "I heard of a fair bit of magic can in a form indirectly commune with the spirits." The young woman would widen her eyes at the mention of homework.
  104. "Damn, I just got enrolled, didn't know there was any homework this early.."
  105. she stated now in a state of slight worry.
  106.
  107.
  108. (Kiyanna Munroe)
  109. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  110.
  111. [18:24] Following a series of soft murmurs to her left, her posture readjusts, keeling forward as hands comb through the verdure at their feet. A bundle of flowers are plucked and thereafter entwined to one another.
  112.
  113. "Sometimes they connect with the living and form bonds. They watch us go through our lives. Assist with grander goals." It's a curt answer, as she is mostly immersed in her work.
  114. (Lilian)
  115. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  116.
  117. [18:25] Malak bel Yalar says, "Homework was assigned two years ago, yer good."
  118. [18:26] Ariel was actually attending this class for herself, too.
  119. (Ariel D. Cirque)
  120. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  121.
  122. [18:27] "Yes and no, I guess," he answers, focusing for a moment to ponder a more elaborate response. "Sure, spirits are everywhere. But they're so invisible that I'm pretty sure y'can't just interact with them."
  123.
  124. "It's like tryin' to talk to someone in another room. Y'can't really talk to them if there's a wall between you, hm?" A short metaphor passed to Alice, muttered in whispers but surely loud enough for another to hear.
  125. (Jude Cirque)
  126. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  127.
  128. [18:29] Alice asks, "Oooh, ok. And one of these, which you could use TO talk to someone in another room, would be one of the tools to talk to spirits?"
  129. [18:29] Alice pulls her transceiver out and shows it to Jude quickly!
  130. (Alice)
  131. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  132.
  133. [18:29] Jude Cirque says, "Kinda, yea-"
  134. [18:30] Jude Cirque says, "Wow."
  135. [18:30] Alice exclaims, "Ok, cool!"
  136. [18:31] Jude Cirque whispers: I don't know what that is, but that looks pretty cool.
  137. [18:32] Alice whispers: It's a transceiver! Leo has one too. I can use it to send messages to him!!!
  138. [18:33] Jude Cirque whispers: Oh, that's cool. Can y'like, say hi to him now...?
  139. [18:37] Alice whispers: I can try!
  140. [18:49] Taking the homework she was handed she would open them up to scan the contents quickly before tucking the pages away into her jacket pocket. She hoped there would be more handed in, though it would certainly just be their loss as they wouldn't be able to receive a prize in that case. As she looked over the pages though she would let out a hum, ears ever open to hear the responses to her question as they were spoken.
  141.
  142. A nod was made towards Searlas. "That is true, Nethradin are considered spirts and you can make pacts with them. Doing so is similar to how witches make pacts with their dark lord and things of that nature. I don't think I ever mentioned it in the first class since I'm not sure if it was brought up or not but umm kids if theres one thing that you walk out of my class knowing...please dont sell your souls. I shouldn't have to say it but it happens more often then you think."
  143.
  144. Clearing her throat after that one she would turn to Jude and nod. "Correct, items and location are very important when communing with a spirit.." Then over to Bao with a nod. "Correct, as I discussed last class primordials and the like are still spirits. Prayers to them is a form of interaction though some will be more direct with their fashion of replying to those prayers then others."
  145.
  146. Finally eyes settled on Samuel and a few more nods were made. "Very good, you would have done well during our first class with that answer as well. Though there are more ways to directly interact with them then you may know."
  147.
  148. "With all of that being said though, there are also a multitude of other ways that one can interact with spirits and their realm. Now we spoke briefly on the topic of wayfinders and even briefer on riftmancers last class, but those are two very direct methods of interacting with the spiritual. There are numerous stories of such practitioners using their abilities to directly step into these other realms or allow things from those realms to come back out this way." A pause as she looked to a few that she knew there were artificers around the pond as well. "There are also those who have been able to mingle their techniques in either art to forge weapons and other things imbued with spiritual energy as well as for other reasons depending on the person of course.
  149.
  150. "I also believe I heard someone say that spirits can form bonds with people as well, I believe that was Ms. Lilian?" She turned her head and would look at the girl giving her a brief nod.
  151.
  152. "That is also correct. From shamans and soothsayers to knights and paladins there have been records of people connecting with spirits in such a way." Tapping her chin she would let out a hum.
  153.
  154. "So now I want you to think a little harder on the next one. How might a skilled magi use their magics to interact with the spiritual in some form. I've already given a few examples during my explanation but I want you guys to think outside the box on things. And as a follow up, Should magi tamper freely with the spirit realm? Give me a little bit to back up your answer on that one."
  155. (Wynne Meztin)
  156. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  157.
  158. [18:55] The boy shook his head.
  159.
  160. "I'm not fully versed on the subject however... I'd think there would be a great about of risk of freely tampering about in their realm, considering they dwell there.. So I'd say no."
  161. (Séarlas)
  162. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  163.
  164. [18:55] "Soul's already sold."
  165.
  166. At least, the strongest of the Rhoyns are. Keeping his voice low, he adds:
  167.
  168. "From th'moment we're born, we're promised t'Njorun. Course, that promise kin be broken."
  169.
  170. Blair is proof.
  171.
  172. "S'better not t'mess with that shet. Our world an' th'spirits should be separate."
  173. (Malak bel Yalar)
  174. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  175.
  176. [18:55] While acknowledging the response given for the necessity of educating himself on the matter, the question regarding as to whether they should even bother interacting with the spirits freely is something that brings up a valid concern.
  177.
  178. Should they really?
  179.
  180. Likely not.. considering the fact that this could very well end up being something extremely dangerous - and for all intents and purposes, it is something that cannot be easily allowed.
  181.
  182. "Well.."
  183.
  184. "Common sense suggests that no, we should not freely interact with spirits for no reason." A pause, to which he adds.
  185.
  186. "Spirit world is hardly understood to the extents we might understand physical world."
  187.
  188. "The world beyond the veil follows different laws, different hierarchy, and they might respond to various magics differently."
  189.
  190. "There are many tales, for example, of visitors of spirit realm freely offering up their mana or blood to the spirit that asks of it - and end up being wounded, drained, or even dead."
  191.
  192. "What this means is, you must exercise caution at all times - even if the spirit seems harmless or innocent."
  193.
  194. Besides, spirits are known to change their shapes, appearances and the likes; they're a lot more deceptive creatures than one would think, and being fooled into such death trap is not exactly uncommon.
  195.
  196. "But, well-"
  197.
  198. "If you have to interact with them and there's no other way, it's probably best to take it slow - or establish clear rules and boundaries with the spirit in question."
  199.
  200. "It's likely important to keep up good attitude so that situation does not turn hostile - but it's important to assert yourself too, so they won't see you as weak and take advantage."
  201.
  202. Though, honestly? All of it so far is Samuel guessing it with common sense- most of what he speaks about could apply even to their own world, let alone spirits.
  203.
  204. "As for magics tampering with spirit realm..."
  205.
  206. "Best not to do anything rash unless you're sure about it. Effects can be unpredictable."
  207. (Samuel Irvin)
  208. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  209.
  210. [18:56] The what's has been answered.
  211.
  212. Yet the how's not become the subject of the query.
  213.
  214. The simplest answer was clear. Prim and obvious. It had been the very same magic he had implored whilst in his short time practicing spiritmancy.
  215.
  216. "The ether magics is probably the best place to practice connectin' with spirits," he suggests. As a practitioner himself, there was an undoubtable amount of effort pit by the same essence in the usage of spirit communication. "I guess since a lot of folks use cosmic magic, it's like sorta communin' with the stars, but with spirits."
  217.
  218. The simplest and most open answer he can provide. Yet as per the secondary question, "Why shouldn't we peer past the veil? Some of the most devoted people do it so much already." A clear nudge toward those that revere Primordials.
  219.
  220. "If a person has good reason to peek into the spiritual, they're likely already know what to do and what not to do in there." A view upon spirits as something to speak with and commune. Not as a bygone essence meant to fester on its own.
  221. (Jude Cirque)
  222. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  223.
  224. [18:57] Bao let's out a sigh of relief! The Kitsune smiling as she ends up being right. It felt sort of good that her base knowledge was indeed correct.
  225.
  226. However, Thinking outside the box was mentioned. Bao's mind was very much in the box trapped inside of it even. Yet that does not stop the Sheng born girl. "Maybe a skilled magi could conduct a ritual? I know that's sort of basic but an example I can think of..."
  227.
  228. Suddenly Bao begins gesturing with her hands. Looking very nervous as she does so. "Say an holy magi or even an occultist. They can allow themselves to embody or be blessed by spirit's that wield the same energy like Jiuweihu for those who wield holy magic by making offers."
  229.
  230. Pointing to her forehead Bao grins! "Or perhaps by opening their mind in a deep state of meditation along with focusing that same sort of energy possibly allowing communication."
  231.
  232. Now no longer pointing Bao crosses her arms."Now if I'm to be honest there is times I think Magi should be allowed to tamper with the spirit realm! However....That's only if they have a through plan and know what they want! Anything can go wrong..."
  233.
  234.
  235. (Bao Mao Ren)
  236. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  237.
  238. [19:01] "There's no singular approach to interacting with the spiritual world, it's even debatable whether there's a proper way of doing it.. In many cases, intent is important, but then again..."
  239.
  240. She shifted slightly from where she stood, her head turning to take in the scenery about them, as if she sought out an appropriate example to use.
  241.
  242. "In a lot of cases, it's a cyclical art, there are patterns in how things are invoked or enacted upon. It's frequent that helical shapes are seen to be used, in runes, glyphs or even rituals."
  243.
  244. Her arm rose, and fell as she spoke with gestures that punctuated differing points, shapes were drawn in the air.. Until it eventually fell to her chest, "I typically prefer dance, to commune, or to even offer respects to the spirits."
  245.
  246. The question was in part, too vague to have a proper or correct answer. It was largely dependant on the individual to approach the query with what was on their mind, how it reflected to their understandings of what was being asked.
  247. (Cyn)
  248. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  249.
  250. [19:01] Nasarin exclaims, "Wooooops!"
  251. [19:03] Alice continues to listen into the lesson she has no real place in participating in. Regardless, she looks towards Jude as he speaks. His answer is pretty simple; if you're looking there with good reason, you probably know what you're doing.
  252.
  253. "You want to interact with the spirits right, Jude? Like...a lot. I know you were pretty excited for this class."
  254.
  255. She was too, actually. Spirits aren't as grand or insane as primordials. "I think asking if they should mess with it is a loaded question. It feels like you want people to say no."
  256. (Alice)
  257. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  258.
  259. [19:03] He listened quietly, because he had no idea or any sort of inkling what a riftmancer/wayfinder was. . . yet some of the kids in their answers seemed a bit more hesitant.
  260.
  261. His father had always said immersion was the best way to learn and he had to agree with Jude and a few others.
  262.
  263. What was the point of learning something if one was not willing to ever immerse. It was like swimming, at some point your head had to go underwater.
  264.
  265. "Er tha spirit realm a dangerous place?" he queried out of raw curiosity. The questions seemed to be manipulated in a manner that his father would when they went hunting. He would ask him techniques of the trade, or what he could/should do in a situation.
  266.
  267. Then he would teach him the dangers, any unknown land was a dangerous place granted one didn't know much about the wildlife etc, but he was only fourteen this year and so his scope of danger was rather limited to some extent.
  268. (Samir)
  269. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  270.
  271. [19:03] The young woman would slowly sigh. The question was quite the penetrating one. Though books and legends have always peaked the young drakkanite. A huge amount of stories of people gaining great power from the spirits that resided there.
  272.
  273. "I think it would be a great experience. If one is with another who is well versed in the subject. I think that it could provide fruit for great opportunities in itself." She thought that the magi that would rather be invested into this sort of stuff are those that could come prepared.
  274.
  275. The drakkan allowed for another pause, scratching her head as of hopes that she could produce anything else that could be of use. However, Bao Mao's response did click a bell within the mind of the drakkan.
  276.
  277. "What would be a consequence of the realm of spirits not being treated with upmost respect? You know, tampering with it irresponsibly? What would or could occur in such a realm? And is the potential of the consequence less effective then such a risk?"
  278.
  279. She asked a barrage of questions. It seemed many took the cautious route, whilst still leaving that curiosity of hers unchecked.
  280. (Kiyanna Munroe)
  281. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  282.
  283. [19:06] His head shifts, flashing a look upon Alice as a response comes up nigh immediately. A hand moves to hush the courier with an added haste, ignoring her initial mention while adding an addendum to her latter statement instead.
  284.
  285. "I think so too. That's like tellin' people to stop goin' and communin' with Eos," he mutters, passing a throwback to the class some of them attended only an hour prior.
  286. (Jude Cirque)
  287. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  288.
  289. [19:08] Samuel quietly ponders.
  290.
  291. Was Eos just some kind of a spirit then as well? Then again, Primordials are supposedly spirits as well.. simply pretty high up on the hierarchy.
  292.
  293. Hm, hm.
  294. (Samuel Irvin)
  295. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  296.
  297. [19:14] Lilian whispers to Jude Cirque: Jude.
  298. [19:15] The Warden continued to look around the pond as answers sprung from the students. Each of them having a rather well said answer. This time not taking the time to reply to each individual she would simply clear her throat and smirk.
  299.
  300. "I don't believe I heard any incorrect answers even though all of you said something different. Which is precisely what I wanted. To express just how many different ways one can approach such a task. Some methods are of course safer then others, from dancing and song, to the practice of ethereal magics as well as offerings of both mana or blood. The ways to interact with spirits are as numerous as the different sorts of spirits that can be interacted with."
  301.
  302. A coy smirk arising as a finger was pointed at Alice in particular. "You're right. It was a loaded question."
  303.
  304. "While it may be easy to say that a magi shouldn't tamper with the spirt realm at all, but as Jude said if someone has already gone through the steps of being able to truly interact and have any effect on the spiritual they're likely aware of what should and shouldn't be done."
  305.
  306. "Now remember I said likely. There are also those who stumble their way into things with the aid of those that are knowledgeable. And as a result they can cause a great deal of damage. Even those with the knowledge, if they bare ill intent, can do terrible things."
  307.
  308. "The prime example being a Wraith. Can anyone tell me what a wraith is? And when I say wraith I am going by the Gehennen understanding of the word." To clarify of course.
  309. (Wynne Meztin)
  310. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  311.
  312. [19:15] Jude Cirque whispers: Hm?
  313. [19:15] Lilian whispers to Jude Cirque: You will come with me, right? After this.
  314. [19:17] Malak bel Yalar says, "Wraith's a vampire he says confidently."
  315. [19:18] Malak // "Wraith's a vampire" he says confidently.
  316. (Malak bel Yalar)
  317. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  318.
  319. [19:19] Jude Cirque whispers: Hm, I can. I'll have somethin' t'do, but I can once I'm done.
  320. [19:20] Lilian whispers to Jude Cirque: When?
  321. [19:20] Bao begins to scratch her head. What was a Wraith...She had a clue. After all she had some knowledge about Gehennen culture from studies prior.
  322.
  323. "I'm not sure if I'm right but. A Wratih is a spirit that has lost it's form. Causing it to mutate and become Irrational and malicious in behavior.."
  324.
  325. Scratching her chin, Emerald hues look directly in the direction of Wynne instead of bouncing around.
  326.
  327. "I believe they can not be defeated without harming the land it inhabit's itself first."
  328.
  329. Gulping, Bao hopes she was right.
  330. (Bao Mao Ren)
  331. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  332.
  333. [19:21] Judas silently stood amongst his peers. He quite frankly didn't know the answer to the question. In the past he would have blurted out anything that came to his mind but now he'd choose to stand around and wait for the answer.
  334.
  335. Perhaps he should have done a bit more reading up on spirits in his spare time. Heck, the youth barely knew anything about Gehenna.
  336.
  337. Steel coloured eyes glanced between his peers as each of them attempted to give an answer.
  338. (Judas Ravilla)
  339. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  340.
  341. [19:21] Jude Cirque whispers: Probably later today I'll be around?
  342. [19:21] "Hm.."
  343.
  344. What are the wraiths exactly? While he could only push off from common sense, given the fact that this kind of name annotated something rather negative about the spirit in question..
  345.
  346. He actually knew little.
  347.
  348. "I don't know."
  349.
  350. "An evil spirit of some sort? I know that Nethradin are out there and they exist in Hel and all, but.."
  351.
  352. "Wraiths are probably some bad spirits that cannot exist in Hel - and so they linger behind?"
  353.
  354. Maybe so.
  355.
  356. He wasn't sure, really.
  357. (Samuel Irvin)
  358. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  359.
  360. [19:22] His foot barely touched the ground, swinging back and forth; the thick tail behind him waving in his agitation. This spirit stuff was a lot more in depth than he thought, he would definitely need to do a heavy amount of reading. . .
  361.
  362. Was this a class or a senior research program?
  363.
  364. The knowledge was definitely swooping over his head, and out of embarrassment he kept silent for the time being. Remembering to do a bit more reading than pickpocketing in the library.
  365.
  366.
  367. (Samir)
  368. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  369.
  370. [19:22] Han was pretty much clueless about this whole class. Everything spoken on was brand new information to him, so rather than interjecting with an ignorant opinion; the lad would opt to stay silent and observe.
  371. (Han Hein)
  372. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  373.
  374. [19:23] Ashlynn had, of course, arrived late. The mention of a Nethradin immediately causing a tingle to go up her spine. She'd suddenly seem nervous, rubbing away at her fingers as she attempted to catch up within the class.
  375. (Ashlynn Belmonte)
  376. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  377.
  378. [19:23] Alice has no idea what a wraith is, so she stays silent, but she gives a thumbs-up as Wynne points her out and a smile!
  379. (Alice)
  380. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  381.
  382. [19:23] The Drakkaness would only wonder what a Wraith was. Having only skin deep knowledge of even the spirit realm, she took time to slowly ponder Scratching her head once more. "I want to say that a Wraith is a corrupted spirit. One corrupted and trapped within the spirit realm and actively damages it."
  383.
  384. She stated. An answer fabricated from weak confidence, without knowledge or context, she thought that it was much better for her to shoot for an answer and become wrong. Rather than to stifle up and learn nothing.
  385. (Kiyanna Munroe)
  386. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  387.
  388. [19:23] Lilian whispers to Jude Cirque: I'm so sad.
  389. [19:23] Jude Cirque whispers: Hm? What's wrong?
  390. [19:24] Lilian whispers to Jude Cirque: Sadness is temporary... It's okay.
  391. [19:24] Lilian whispers to Jude Cirque: I will wait for you.
  392. [19:24] Jude Cirque whispers: Alright.
  393. [19:24] Lilian whispers to Jude Cirque: Do not forget.
  394. [19:28] "Mm."
  395.
  396. There were many shapes, or forms that a wraith could in fact take.. "A wraith is a malignant, it's typically a remnant of something else, or a lesser variation of what it was."
  397.
  398. "I believe.."
  399. (Cyn)
  400. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  401.
  402. [19:30] Samir body alights as a shiver runs down his spine, his tail standing on end briefly
  403. (Samir)
  404. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  405.
  406. [19:35] "No, not a vampire."
  407.
  408. The first words that came out to make sure that was clarified. They were talking about spirits after all. Though she could understand why one might come to that conclusion from an Essharan perspective. She would let the other answers come in and for things to settle down before looking at Bao.
  409.
  410. "Correct. Though Ms. Munroe you are very very close as well. Though its the opposite, in fact a wraith is instead trapped and bound to the land." She was wondering how long it would take before she would have to call back to the first spiritual lesson Ethric had ever given her, but sure enough the time had come. "A wraith by the terms I was going by is a spirit who has been warped and corrupted in some manner and most commonly bound to the land."
  411.
  412. "When I was younger it was what I feared would happen in my home. Unfortunately what actually ended up happening was far worse. I have one last question. After that anyone that has questions is free to ask and then we'll begin to wrap up class for the night."
  413.
  414. "Who here can tell me about the fall of Moxtli? Does anyone know what caused the entire city to turn to ruin in a matter of seconds?" Part of her was glad Ariel decided to get up and leave before she asked that question.
  415. (Wynne Meztin)
  416. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  417.
  418. [19:37] A spirit bound in the land?
  419.
  420. So he was somewhat close with his guess- while Nethradin are the spirits that reside in Helheim and they are corrupt, Wraiths are the spirits that actually stay behind - likely due to the fact that they're unable to leave and return to the spirit world.
  421.
  422. Odd circumstances. Though..
  423.
  424. While he listens in, the question about Moxtli does catch him off guard a little bit. He actually did visit the place before - but what surprised him most is the fact that there are no signs of destruction by man.
  425.
  426. There are no traces of an army passing through, no traces of siege, of battle between two mortal armies - nothing like it. Instead, it's like something just up and levelled the place.
  427.
  428. Then suddenly left.
  429.
  430. "Mmm.. well.."
  431.
  432. "This class is about spirits, so.." Naturally, he makes an assumption that this is something about spirits - otherwise, it's completely unrelated and there'd be no reason why Wynne asks about it.
  433.
  434. "Some spiritual catalyst?"
  435. (Samuel Irvin)
  436. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  437.
  438. [19:39] Bao looks relieved once more. She was correct! Although now the next question has her confused. She didn't know much about Moxtil except that it existed at a point and time.
  439.
  440. "Um..." Grasping her own chin, Bao spouts out a guess.
  441.
  442. "A wraith? Something similar to a wraith summoned brought to a place it shouldn't be?"
  443.
  444. She shrugs. It was an attempt.
  445. (Bao Mao Ren)
  446. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  447.
  448. [19:39] Oh, this was something that Judas actually had the answer to!
  449.
  450. Raising his hand, he'd loudly bellow out,
  451.
  452. "I heard that it was some crazy lady that totally lost the plot and decided to fuck up her own people!"
  453. (Judas Ravilla)
  454. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  455.
  456. [19:41] The class was actually supremely productive for the hunter, and the whispered conversation with his older classmates was giving him a lot of knowledge that he did not have before.
  457.
  458. An entire city turned to ruins in a matter of seconds
  459.
  460. his eyes widened as his ears flattened,
  461.
  462. "Tha's nah possible is it? Seconds?" his look on the teacher was any look a child would give when they had yet to expand their world view. A city was a large place of commerce, thousands if not millions lived and breathed.
  463.
  464. Something capable of turning a city to ruins in seconds meant people would not even have time to react. Perhaps more skilled magi would be able to put up some sort of paltry defense but . . . .
  465.
  466. Fear flashed in the youths eyes.
  467. (Samir)
  468. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  469.
  470. [19:41] Well.
  471.
  472. Perhaps there was no better person to answer such a query...
  473.
  474. Than a Cirque.
  475.
  476. There was an added pause to the countenance of the silver-haired youth. His resemblance to the old Voice alone posing as an initial hint to the thoughts formulating within his mind and the hesitancy of bringing up such a tragic event.
  477.
  478. Until now, he had yet to understand the why's. Yet, from the tales imposed upon him in his youth, he had some idea of the how's.
  479.
  480. "The Chase and the Black Wolf." The first few words spews like bitter venom.
  481.
  482. If anything, there had been an added weight to the mere topic alone, bringing Jude to almost a standstill as he recomposes to continue his line of thought.
  483.
  484. "A summoning of Saekanis's avatar, somethin' no simple spiritmancer could do with ease." The Void Entity. The Consumer. Whatever appellation the people of this generation dubbed it so. "Somethin' that should have never come back."
  485.
  486. "And yet, it did. At the cost of where Moxtli once was."
  487.
  488. A dejected gaze shifts, Jude opting stare off upon the distant oceans; avoiding eye contact as much as possible with the remainder of his peers.
  489.
  490. At best, only those details was all he could recall.
  491. (Jude Cirque)
  492. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  493.
  494. [19:47] The young woman would slowly scratched their head. And made a small basis after hearing all the others speaking about the problem. "I think that the thing that likely caused was a summoning of said spirits incorrectly?"
  495.
  496. She briefly stated before waiting about in the lecture.
  497. (Kiyanna Munroe)
  498. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  499.
  500. [19:48] Her head turned at that, the last of what the Metzin had said, or rather asked.. "That depends now, doesn't it."
  501.
  502. It did depend, there was the question of the history of enablement that would allow such a thing to be attempted.. The idea that it could've been alright, that the sacrifice was an honourable thing.
  503.
  504. A just thing.
  505.
  506. There was the whole Moxtlian culture that'd empowered a way of thinking, that the costs were to be enamoured.
  507.
  508. Glorified.
  509.
  510. "Are we asking why, Sibyl."
  511.
  512. An equally dejected look hung from her countenance, to that of her brothers' as she continued, "Or are we looking into how a culture could allow that to happen so easily, otherwise.. The answer is quite simply, they called up the wrong sibling for the job."
  513.
  514. Her tone was edged with a humour, that belied a bitterness to the whole subject. People frequently thought that Saekanis was a morale entity, it was without morale compass, the same was said to it's counterpart Asena.
  515. (Cyn)
  516. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  517.
  518. [19:59] She didn't expect many to be able to answer the question. And unfortunately she was right, even if the event had happened within her lifetime it was almost like ancient history to the youth that were unaffected. Which was why after posing the question the eyes of the Warden began to move between two in the crowd in particular.
  519.
  520. And luckily for her one of them spoke up, in a fashion that certainly pleased her. "Correct Jude. Though that was not the original intention of that day." To hear those words come from one of Sibyl's own felt like the one victory she could hold over the old woman who had thankfully disappeared from any sort of relevancy as of late.
  521.
  522. "Yes there was a catalyst. I don't know the exacts behind it but I am aware that The Voice and her shaman at the time did a good deal of sacrificing to fill up some sort of receptacle with enough energy." A sigh left her. "Their intent was to bring back Andromeda, an entity that was linked to Saekanis."
  523.
  524. She cleared her throat.
  525.
  526. "I was there that day when it all happened. In fact while Achilles Gelmont tried to take the first strike at those conducting the ritual, mine was the first arrow shot to try to destabilize the fissure they were opening." She shook her head. "We failed that day. And unfortunately one of my close friends was the last sacrifice made to finish opening up what Sibyl thought was going to spit out Andromeda for her. Something she no doubt planned to use as a weapon against all the nations she burned bridges with up until that point."
  527.
  528. "Instead? Saekanis rears his head. And what was the first thing The Voice chose to do?" She paused briefly looking around. "To curse out the Spirit of Death and demand he give her what she wanted... And that was when it all really began... every spirit from the forest. Every non-magi... in an instant were pulled and taken by the Wolf."
  529.
  530. But why was she going on about this?
  531.
  532. "I bring it up because I want you all to be aware just how dangerous messing with what you don't understand can be. While someone well versed in spiritualist arts can do great things from forging golems, to summoning spirits, talking with them or imbuing weapons with their energy... There are also terrible terrible things that can happen even with those around that claim to have the knowledge to do what's right."
  533.
  534. "It was also a history lesson that many of you apparently were sorely missing." Another clap of her hands. "Now... Any questions?"
  535. (Wynne Meztin)
  536. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  537.
  538. [20:03] To mess with the powers you don't understand is a sure death sentence- from the sound of it, this was a historical event with destruction that could previously be entirely unmatched, with manifestation of the Winter Wolf himself coming through the gap between the realms.
  539.
  540. And yet, atop of that, a dire mistake made that solidified the destruction of Moxtli.
  541.
  542. "Hm.."
  543.
  544. It makes him ponder just how different things would be if this wasn't done, but then again, he knows little about their people and what exactly they stood for - as well as what they aspired for exactly. Though, with that said..
  545.
  546. "I don't think I have any questions left."
  547.
  548. "Thank you for the lesson."
  549.
  550. Even then, he feels as if there's still much to learn about the spiritual- considering that he's been tapping into it through the ether, it's only understandable that he would find more experiences to be had about that.
  551.
  552. Though..
  553.
  554. Time will tell what exactly.
  555. (Samuel Irvin)
  556. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  557.
  558. [20:03] The teen crossed his arms with a brow slightly furrowed at the explanation of what had happened at Moxtli. How people had allowed such a seemingly unstable person into power was beyond me.
  559.
  560. "Yeah I got a question. How did the people of Moxtli let such an unhinged woman with poor foresight into the position of leader or 'Voice' or whatever they call it?"
  561.
  562. If someone like that had managed to achieve such a high seat then seemingly anyone could become a leader.
  563. (Judas Ravilla)
  564. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  565.
  566. [20:04] No questions came from the boy. Rather, he kept quiet, only giving a subtle nod of his head as he took in what was said.
  567.
  568. It was something new for sure, the boy did always under why Moxtli was the way it was, a wasteland that he ran through a few times during his comings and goings. But to hear the tale behind it? It was something enthralling.
  569. (Séarlas)
  570. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  571.
  572. [20:05] Interesting! Nodding her head slowly as the event is explained, Bao reaches into her satchel quickly writing down footnotes. "That's crazy! Absolutely horrible if I'm to be honest."
  573.
  574. The Jiuweihu devout ponders for a moment how dangerous spirit's really may be. Perhaps restrictions on allowing magi to do such things should be enforced?
  575.
  576. She raises her hand however, Quickly forgetting that thought.
  577.
  578. "I have a question! If one were to have a pact with one spirit and they made one with another would the other spirit become aware of the betrayal?"
  579. (Bao Mao Ren)
  580. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  581.
  582. [20:07] An opt of silence brings the Cirque with added distance to those around him.
  583.
  584. By no means had the warning fallen on deaf ears. Throughout the impromptu revelation of details of that day.
  585.
  586. Though an added flash of blue crosshairs fall upon those that speak out, there was no retort or snarky comment to add.
  587.
  588. He had been far too tired for one day to have the energy to ruin another's.
  589.
  590. Perhaps another time.
  591.
  592. Instead, he stands idle. An allowance for questions to be passed without any constraints or blockades. Only the soft shutting of his eyes and the awaiting for the class's end is what piques his interest.
  593. (Jude Cirque)
  594. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  595.
  596. [20:08] Now Alice is glad that she'd attended. In addition to learning some general spiritual knowledge...she also got a history lesson as to why there was a crater near the Academy! A big one.
  597.
  598. Worth her time, then.
  599.
  600. She's fine, though. If she ever plans on tampering with the spirits, she'd just ask Jude for help! Any questions...
  601.
  602. Nope, not really.
  603. (Alice)
  604. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  605.
  606. [20:08] He paused and was utterly silent .
  607.
  608. The ookami youth was not the brightest in the book but he knew the importance of balance, and what the black and white wolf represented. It was taught from the time he was a pup.
  609.
  610. "Tha lady cursed tha black wolf?" he muttered, that had to be the uttermost idiotic decision he had ever heard a human had made in history. Had they become drunk on magic? Thought themselves some sort of god?
  611.
  612. He understood now, he understood completely how a city could vanish in seconds. He also had a better understanding of the class. For even his father had told him. . . the spirits were kept in check not by mortal hands but by one another.
  613.
  614. The youth rubbed his temples,
  615.
  616. "Tha' was an dumb thing' tah do. . .innit? Did this lady think she was ah god or somethin' ???" he asked as sharp chartreuse colored eyes looked at the teacher.
  617. (Samir)
  618. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  619.
  620. [20:10] "Wow."
  621.
  622. Was the only words that she could muster up upon that time. The actual weight of what was being told would likely stand with her. The absolute morbidity of simply trying to revive something or someone like that. A small breath was taken
  623.
  624. A heavy exhale even. In all senses, at least she had gotten her answer in results to the absolute worst case scenario. A wolf like enemy would raze the land they call home.. A weight that would tug on her chest for a while longer.
  625.
  626. In all of the time spent.. She could understand the world around her better. At least this would allow many of the students here to be discouraged in taking such a haughty path.
  627. (Kiyanna Munroe)
  628. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  629.
  630. [20:19] As the questions came the first to spit one out would be Judas.
  631.
  632. "Through cults and manipulation. Sibyl had been long dormant as The Voice for some time. The Grace family, Ektu and Cedar as well as my Uncle Thorn, they were ones that had things moving steadily along for a while. Maintaining some semblance of 'peace' even. Though that period made a lot of the tribes docile. Once they retired... A new sect moved in really. A teraphim named Enna became the next Head Shaman... Introduced a new Guardian Spirit called The Weaver, a corrupt teraphim deity. Essentially the cult of the Weaver was used to indoctrinate those around to a new way of thinking while more of those teraphim came from exile to settle in the tribes. Soon enough most sensible people were outnumbered by the fanatics."
  633.
  634. "And I assure you not all of us let it happen. If things hadn't gone so terribly that day there were many plans to change things and fix what had been broken. Alas we never had that chance."
  635.
  636. A turn towards Samir.
  637.
  638. "Frankly, yes. I believe she did and still does wherever she might be."
  639.
  640. And then the question that wasn't about Moxtli which she appreciated a good deal.
  641.
  642. "I don't believe so unless the spirits were related or connected in some fashion. There is no way for them to just suddenly know if a previous bond had been broken unless told. They aren't omnipotent."
  643.
  644. And with that it seemed the questions had been wrapped up.
  645.
  646. "And that will be the class for the day. Though I did mention that there will be an announcement."
  647.
  648. A look around was made to see if the girl was present but alas she was likely resting, which she couldn't blame her for.
  649.
  650. "As of this moment, Mayra Zheng is the Keeper of the Irradited Shrine. She walks and acts fully with my authority of Warden behind her. So I ask that not only do you congratulate her, but also afford her the same respect you would afford me when she acts."
  651.
  652. "That is all though, no homework this class. All of you enjoy the rest of your days... evenings. Whatever you consider it based on your sleep schedule." A chuckle. "Spirits guide you all, be safe."
  653. (Wynne Meztin)
  654. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  655.
  656. [20:21] Alice exclaims, "Thanks for the class!!!"
  657. [20:22] Malak bel Yalar says, "Yeh, thanks."
  658. [20:22] Samir says, "Tna ,s"
  659. [20:22] Samir says, "Thanks fer tha' lesson"
  660. [20:22] Wynne Meztin says, "Tna,s to you too"
  661. [20:22] A nod was given at the answer. Scratching his head, the youth realized that things hadn't been as simple as he thought they were.
  662.
  663. It looked like this Sibyl person hadn't just been idly followed by the people. A lesson perhaps to think deeper on subjects before coming to a conclusion.
  664.
  665. "Thanks for the lesson and for answering my question."
  666. (Judas Ravilla)
