LIVIN AFTER MAID NIGHT

[22:12]	<[huh]Rasul>	You are servants under the feared lord of the land of Middle Haven, so called because it lies between two great warring countries. In one particularly violent battle, Middle Haven was the chosen field. The bloodshed that followed found the Monarchy dead and spread anarchy throughout the land. Soon, after, though, an unexpected man arose to take the nation's crown. Mustering followers, a simple peasant boy used cunning and assassination, backstabbing and treachery in order to secure the throne. In the end, he took his place and through his influence raised an army the likes of which no person could have expected. With its newfound might, Middle Haven became able to defend its borders. Perhaps too well, and even now both countries to the North and South are wary of the little nation's growing power.

[22:36]	<[Gtz]Florence>	Oh! I'm sorry, have I been making everyone wait for me? I'm Florence, I'm really sorry about that... I guess I forgot I was here.

[22:42]	* [Gtz]Florence	fidgets and tries not to make eye contact, despite wearing dark sunglasses. ( Gosh, that was really embarrassing. How long was I daydreaming about robots... )
[00:53]	* [Atai]Schaliel	inclines her head respectfully, her long silvery hair drifting forward over a pair of curled horns jutting out of her head, and smiles slightly.
[00:53]	<[Atai]Schaliel>	Good fortune bless you this day, mine fellow servants. I am Schaliel, and Rasul is my brother and first-kin. It is my hope that thy time serving his Highness will be a long and worthwhile one.
[01:06]	<[Kly]May>	It's a... pleasure to meet you all. I am known as May Astraeus. I hope that I can be of service.
[01:12]	<[huh]Rasul>	[It is slightly past noon and almost lunchtime. The master, currently meeting with the kingdom's treasurer, does not expect any more guests, but one does arrive in the form of a messenger, who comes to inform the servants of a visitor at the castle's great doors.]
[01:13]	<huh[messenger]>	There's somebody at the door.
[01:14]	<[Atai]Schaliel>	...Is there? Thanks be to thee. I shall see to it at once.
[01:14]	<[Kly]May>	Someone, the door? I've got my hands full with lunch...
[01:15]	* [Atai]Schaliel	goes down to the main hall to greet this visitor. She'll have to have that messenger boy flogged for not giving her more information, but there's a time for pleasure, and a time for business.
[01:16]	<[Gtz]Florence>	Good maid, you've spoken the foremost word, now get up and bar the door~

[01:19]	* huh[visitor]	is standing in the hall, apprently having been let in and told to wait by the messenger. She's a young girl, no older than 17, with long hair and unusually piercing red eyes. As you approach, she never takes them off you.
[01:23]	<[Atai]Schaliel>	Good afternoon, and welcome to my Master's keep. May I ask what business brings thee here?
[01:24]	<huh[visitor]>	I wish to see the master of this castle, he who is hte lord of these lands.
[01:25]	* [Gtz]Florence	sings to herself absentmindedly while singing

[01:33]	* [Atai]Schaliel	's eyes then narrow slightly, peering at her, head tilting this way and that a little.
[01:34]	<[Atai]Schaliel>	...Are you she, or but a message-carrier for this 'sister'?

[01:34]	<[Pyg]Julius>	Quite a catchy tune there, Miss Florence.
[01:34]	<huh[visitor]>	I am she. What is it to you?
[01:35]	* [Atai]Schaliel	smiles... strangely.
[01:35]	* [Pyg]Julius	, the narrow-eyed butler, emerges from a doorway behind the singing maid.
[01:35]	<[Atai]Schaliel>	Possibly a great deal.
[01:35]	* [Pyg]Julius	might be smiling.
[01:35]	* [Atai]Schaliel	ushers her into one of the sitting rooms.
[01:36]	* [Gtz]Florence	VRYEEEN! ALERT MODE ALERT MODE ALERT MODE
[01:36]	* [Gtz]Florence	gasps and does a quick 180
[01:36]	<[Gtz]Florence>	Oh! Uhaha... you heard that?
[01:37]	<[Atai]Schaliel>	Please, have a seat, and mine-- ...employer shall see you as soon as can be managed.
[01:38]	<huh[visitor]>	Tell him to take his time. I've waited long to see him, an hour or two is little compared to that.
[01:39]	* [Atai]Schaliel	There is a sizzle and a thunderclap, and Schaliel disappears, leaving behind a small wisp of smoke, and the smell of charred wood and brimstone.
[01:41]	* [Atai]Schaliel	reappears upstairs, behind May, with a loud pop followed by a sizzling noise.
[01:42]	<[Atai]Schaliel>	Miss May?
[01:42]	<[Pyg]Julius>	You were quite loud, yes. I had to leave my post by Master Gabir's meeting quarters to check on the commotion.

[01:45]	* [Atai]Schaliel	stands there as a few flakes of ash drift idly down beside her.
[01:45]	<[Atai]Schaliel>	Art thou engaged in any critical tasks or errands?
[01:46]	<[Gtz]Florence>	I'm sorry... I really didn't mean to. I guess I got carried away... again...
[01:47]	* [Gtz]Florence	's sunglasses can't hide all the shades of red she turns
[01:50]	<[Kly]May>	Not really, just tending to the soup...
[01:51]	<[Atai]Schaliel>	Then set it aside posthaste. In the lower sitting room is the woman who arrived here. Attend to her and see to her needs. She is to be treated with utmost care and caution. An thou dost sense any ill intent or suspicious behavior from her, politely excuse thyself and find me at once.
[01:52]	<[Pyg]Julius>	...If I may ask, Miss Florence.
[01:52]	<[Pyg]Julius>	Is there a reason you need to wear sunglasses indoors?
[01:53]	<[Atai]Schaliel>	Thou art to conduct thyself around this woman in a cheerful and friendly manner. Oblige her needs unless they are notably unusual, and treat her with respect.
[01:54]	<[Gtz]Florence>	Oh, these... Well... um...
[01:55]	* [Gtz]Florence	pulls off the glasses for a moment, eying them intently
[01:56]	* [Kly]May	nods, holding the large stirring spoon out towards Schaliel.
[01:56]	<[Kly]May>	Ok, but I'll have to have you watch the soup.
[01:56]	<[Gtz]Florence>	...This boy once told me they make me look cool. I don't know, I guess I kind of like them too.
[01:58]	<[Atai]Schaliel>	Remove it from the stove or delegate to a scullery maid. I must inform the master of this visitor immediately.
[01:58]	* [Atai]Schaliel	disappears again in another sizzling bang.
[01:58]	* [Gtz]Florence	puts them back on her nose, peering up from the glasses
[02:00]	<[Kly]May>	...
[02:01]	* [Kly]May	sets the heat on low, and makes her way downstairs towards where the guest should be sitting
[02:01]	* [Gtz]Florence	looks away, trying to slice through the awkward silence with her mind
[02:09]	* [Atai]Schaliel	reappears just down the hall from where Rasul is in conference with the treasurer, and walks the rest of the way to the door, which she knocks upon.
[02:10]	* [huh]Rasul	opens the door, looking somewhat irritated.
[02:10]	<[huh]Rasul>	Yes, who- ah, Schaliel? What is it?
