Mock The Week SWLTS FAQ

-"What the fuck is this?" This is Mock The Week, a weekly topical show where panelists are quizzed about recent events. This is hosted by Irish comedian Dara O'brien, and stars various comedians, doing rounds based on the week's events and are awarded based on Dara's whim. These are roughly a half hour long shows with "rounds", which are segments where they either discuss events or it's purely comedy like SWLTS or the Standup Challenge.

-"So what's the point of this?" Scenes We'd Like To See is a quickfire improv round where the panelists can come up with lines and scenes of a chosen scenario, such as "unlikely things to hear on a breakfast programme".

-"What's the buzzer for?" Dara rings this to end the panelist's suggestion and to signal for someone else to try.

-"Who's that (vague description) at (insert time)?" With the exception of the supercuts, these compilations are split into series so just take a look at this page and just google the names until the looks match. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Mock_the_Week_episodes

-"Why so many fucking ads?" Because Youtube. Use Ublock Origin or Adblock. Or simply shut up and bear it.

-"Why are you making money off someone else's work?" I'm not. The money goes to the BBC because it belongs to them. I'd be stupid to do something illegal.

-"This show sucks without (insert name here!)" Most of the time you bitch about the lack of Frankie Boyle, the dark Scottish comedian who was a regular up until Series 7, when he at one point got sick, then decided to leave before Series 8. One source claimed he was fired for being too much of a controversial comedian, one said he got bored, one claimed he didn't like BBC's political bias and PC-influence. I don't care, but it's rather annoying to see it on a nearly daily basis in my inbox. If you liked Frankie, keep it to Series 1-7.

-"(Male or female comedian) sucks/is too PC/etc." Shut the fuck up. I'm not in control of this fucking show. Why are you wasting my time instead of bitching to the BBC or Angst, the production team behind MTW?
