  7. Archangel Raziel, 14th Cadre, Legion of God's Lightning
  8. ------------------
  9.
  10. The four battlements of the tower stood tall in the four corners of the Fort. The Defenders were fierce in protecting their territory. They were not going to give up any ground they hold unless their attackers put them into death. The members of Human Auxilia were firing their Blast Rifles from the battlements down at the Demonic attackers along with the Garrison Angels that were sent to reinforce the defense of the Fort. Archangel Cadres has already descended to aid the defenders and protect the little city behind the enormous Fort. In the Fort's rooftop, stood the Archangel Raziel; one of the powerful Archangels that were known for his heroic actions in the Judgement of Earth. He stood with one foot resting on the rubble, and both hands resting on the hilt of his sword. His bright gold armor glistens in the afternoon sun. His obsured eyes were both watching the Demonic Legions attacking down below. They were like ants attacking from a hill, feasting on a larger animal. He saw Legionnaires from the Blood Gears Mechanized Legion, Darkshot Legion and the infamous Hellfire Marine Legion from the 199th. They mercilessly fired upon the Auxilia and the Garrison on the ground below, slaughtering them with firepower.
  11.
  12. "Cadre!" He called, his voice disguised by the audio filtration system of the suit's helmet. "We have no choice but to fly down and help them."
  13.
  14. "Yes," A fellow Archangel agreed as he stood beside the superior Archangel. "What else?"
  15.
  16. "Call the other Cadres and we will swoop down and cut the Demon ranks." Raziel ordered as he jumped off from the edge of the roof with a spread wings. Six of his subordinates has also jumped off, following him in his descent down to the grassy field. Of all the places in the Planet, Freedom was the only islands that still maintains its ecological purity despite of the heavy industrialization its neighboring continents had endured from the hands of its inhabitants. Even in the ongoing battle, it still remained the same as if it was not even touched by anything. He landed down with a heavy thud, followed by a few more loud footfalls that announces the arrival of the rest of his cadre. The sun burns hot in the horizon; the waves of the sea splashes on the shores not far from them. The warm breeze of the wind blew past by, commanding the bronze palm trees to gently bow in its presence. Raziel raised his Burning Blade as he faced a Hellfire Marine. The burning skeleton inside the bulky midnight blue armor with gold rivetings grinned in mockery as it raised its huge Ragefire Assault Rifle at him. Raziel felt his chestplate move as the Marine released a trio of shots.
  17.
  18. "BASK IN GLORIOUS LIGHT, SPAWNLING!" Raziel yelled as he invoked a glow of light infused with electricity out of the sky, descending on the Hellfire Marine, obliterating it in a gory fashion as its limbs and encased head blew apart. Three more Hellfire Marines are rushing towards him with raised rifles, firing their explosive shells at the Archangel. Raziel moved with superior speed as he dodged the bullets being fired at him, while at the same time, moving in closer to them. As he reached the closer Marine, he raised his burning sword and swings downwards, amputating his target in half. He lifted his left hand at the second nearest one and blasted it with a surge of electricity, reducing it into charred bones and burned metals. He leaned backwards just in time to avoid another explosive shell fired by the third one. His left hand quickly snatched the Ray Pistol holstered on his left thigh. He lifts it up and fired thrice, two on its head and one on its chest. The Hellfire Marine was thrown backwards, twitching as life bleeds away from it. "Quis Ut Deus, Brothers!" He yelled. "Forward!!!"
  19.
  20. The Auxilia and the Garrison of the Legion of Holy Fire charged with a battlecry, crushing the eardrums of the nearby Demons despite of their enclosed heagears protecting them from external elements which includes distracting noise. The three attacking Legion had ceased their attack; confusion spread among many as they stopped and held their ground. The battle's situation has immediately changed; from attacker to defender, and defender to attacker. Raziel swings his sword as he closes in on a Darkshot Legionnaire. Its crimson armor was being eaten by glowing rust; a hint of Hellfire Material. It has a black inverted cross as its faceplate and its eye lense, just like the Garrison Angels, were cyclopean. It was meant to be a mockery to the Garrison and the rest of the Angelic Legions. The Demon raised its rifle at the towering Archangel in gold and fired, only to no avail. It stepped back in fear but Raziel's blade has decapitated the enemy, finally killing it as an inhuman cry escaped from its severed vocal chords. He raised his handgun and fired a quartet of shots at a duo of Blood Gears Legionnaire. The Demons turned and aimed their portable cannon blaster at the Archangel and hailed him with gunpowders. Raziel protects himself with his two wings as the ammunition began hitting him in every direction. As soon as the firing had stopped, he spreads his wings with his chest flexed, summoning a glow of bright light from his chest, vaporizing the armored duo in an instant. He turned at the firing Demons and sprinted to their direction, waving his sword at the nearby Legionnaires that were unlucky enough to be close to him.
  21.
  22. In his wake, he left flying heads and severed limbs. Impaled bodies and punctured plate armors fell to the ground like leaves, as if they were nothing. With every turn he made, he fired a few shots, killing the distant enemies and preventing them just in time from harming his own men. He continued his run, swinging his sword upwards and invoking a pillar of fire to rise up from the ground and engulf the Demons in front of him. His attack was not biased as it takes the life of any Legionnaires, from the Blood Gears, Darkshot and the 199th. After a while, his six subordinates finally joined him in his run towards the core of the attacking Legions. The Auxilia, Garrison and the other Cadres were closely following behind them, firing back at the attackers that had turned defenders.
  23.
  24. Blast Rounds and Ragefire Clips raced past the wind as it made its way to their respective targets. Blood and armor fluids were sprayed in the air, odor mixing in the atmosphere like perfume. The inhuman screams and the loud cries of the Malakhs joined in choir with the cacophony of mechanized sounds and the gunfire of their weapons. Chaos in every turn; dark crimson and red liquid stained the pasture of grass, mixing with soil like fertilizers and substituing water, satiating their thirsty roots. Destroyed bodies from both sides were scattered around like ragdolls, some were bent in odd position, some have body parts missing.
  25.
  26. Raziel made a high leap as he strikes at Hellfire Marine, pulverizing it with his Burning Blade from head to toe. He whirled to the left as he strikes at a Darkshot Legionnaire, then impaled a Blood Gear Demon to the right; his blade penetrating its chestplate deeply enough for blood to seep out of its wounds. The fire that emanates from the blade melted the armor plates of the Legionnaire, exposing its flesh that has started to burn as well. He pulled the sword away as the Legionnaire fell to its knees, emitting gargling sound as blood invades its lungs. He stared at the fallen Demon for a brief second, until an overwhelming depressive feeling suddenly took over him.
  27.
  28. "It's you." Raziel muttered. He felt that presence a long time ago, back when Earth has not been judged by the Lord in the End Times. Back when the Monsters still roam the urbanized streets of Terra. He slowly raised his gaze to the left, his eyesights were met by a Demon in midnight black armor. Its helm was a sore to the eyes. It was maddening and infuriating at the same time. It walked across the battlefield, slowly approaching the Archangel with a jagged sword.
  29.
  30. "Yes, it is I." The Archdemon replied. "We have met each other again, in the most unlikely place."
  31.
  32. "I know." Raziel replied as he made a step forward. "Do you lead these Demons, Bifrons?"
  33.
  34. "Yes I do." The Archdemon replied as it raised its sword. "And you are ruining our plans."
  35.
  36. Raziel did not reply. He was covered in dark crimson blood. The Archdemon in front of him was also covered in red liquid too. Both combatants circled each other, before charging at one another. Their swords locked and intertwined, sparks flies in the air in every contact made. Raziel swings his sword at the Archdemon, but it simply parried the attack and retaliated with another blow. Raziel gladly replied it with a lean to the right. He righted his stance and made a step forward, thrusting his blade at the chest of the Archdemon. Bifrons clenced his hand into a fist and was engulfed by a sphere made out of shadow. He launched it at the faceplate of the Archangel Raziel, making him stumble backwards.
  37.
  38. "Isn't this ironic, Raziel?" Bifrons asked. "The roles always reverses. Before, an Archangel stood on the top of a Demon. Now it was the other way."
  39.
  40. "I don't think so, Archdemon." Raziel replied as he launched a surge electricity at the faceplate of his enemy, fracturing it and revealing its pale face. Bifrons let out a curse as it charged at the Archangel again. Raziel showered it with glowing orbs of light. The orbs explodes upon contact, ultimately damaging Bifrons' armor. It also exposes its scarred chest. "Now say goodbye, Demon." Raziel says as he raised his sword and launched a powerful kick at the chest of the Archdemon. It fell down on the ground, Raziel now stands on the top of him. Without hesitation, he impales its exposed chest, finally killing it.
  41.
  42. Minutes after their leader's death, the Demon Legionnaires began retreating faster than the speed of light with tails tucked between their legs. Raziel stood above his fallen enemy, watching the escapees run.
  43.
  44. "Permission to pursue, Brother." One of the Archangels in his Cadre asked as he spread his wings open.
  45.
  46. "No, don't." Raziel protested. "We were only ordered to stand guard and defend the Fort at all costs. We cannot leave our post no matter what." Raziel replied as he turned to the assaulted military installation. One of the battlements were smoking, another was destroyed to the point that it was about to fall. "Call in the Engineering Detachment."
  47.
  48. "Yes, Brother."
