  1. I walked over the soft, moist sand as it sunk beneath my feet. The moonlight shone mystically on the waves, lagging behind me just to the slightest. It put a dark, silver glow over the rippled ocean water. A warm breeze coaxed me, holding my hair in place sturdily to one side. Stars weren't abundant and there was very little clouds to hide any. It seemed the little shining specs avoided the moon; it lit the sky alone. Periodically, small waves came up and flowed over my feet. The water was pleasantly warm. The breeze became more salty, and another wave greeted my ankles. This one was colder; a little less pleasant but relaxing nonetheless.
  2. The sand ended at a large rock at Nobby's beach. Heading back was the backdrop of Burleigh Headlands with small lights from various apartment blocks. The moon still creeped at my heels, illuminating the water which continued to slowly creep up to me then retreat back to the pacific. The salty sea became more violent, only a small bit, and  my calves. The moon reminded me of myself. It lit the night sky alone. Up there, by itself. You could wonder if it knew that on the other side of the world there was the sun, also making the sky as bright as can be. That if either one of them knew that if they could be together, they could light up the sky like nobody had known. I didn't know if I was exactly like the moon. Because I knew I had something out there that lights up my sky, because even when I'm shining - it still feels dark, even though I have many stars they can't make it day without my sun. There's only one sun out there, which made it more special to me.  I adored the moon. It brought light to the dark navy sky so that it was pleasantly dark. I could sit there on the sand all night and watch it make the water sparkle; but only to see day break and watch my sun rise and bask in it's warmth in which there is no word or expression to match it. And when night falls again, I'll miss the sun. It'll be twelve more hours before you, Jordan, shine so the sky is brighter than ever. I will love you until your last flame burns out, which will be the one I will fan and guard with my life before I fade away with it. Because a day without sun, should not be a day at all.
