  1. People with a difference in max and min rankings of 0 or 1: Blorp (1), Monty (2), Vorst (3), MoarD (4), Fosho (6 or 7), Paper (15) – These don’t really need to be discussed much right now, I think Sho will fall into a spot based on 1More and Spaku
  2.
  3. 1More vs Spaku
  4. In my opinion two things can settle this debate: H2Hs and recency. The argument I’m seeing against 1More is that he has inconsistent placings and worse loses, but if you look at when his bad results happen vs his good results, the trend is consistently upwards while Spaku is stagnant. 1More’s most recent weekly data is 3, 5, 5, 3, 13, 2 at the last six events. His 13th is obviously the outlier and it did happen because he was upset by Diffy and Blackbeard. His peaks, however, are trending higher than Spaku’s consistently. Spaku in the same time period had 7, 3, 9, 4, 7 and making it out of pools at FB5.
  5. When it comes to H2H between them, 1More has a much better record the Spaku vs the top 16. 1More loses to blorp and monty; he ties with moard, sho, and sofa; and beats everyone else that he’s played (8 people). Compared to Spaku who loses to blorp, monty, vorst, moard, tybol, boost, and diffy; and ties with fosho, jate, and qwil; only beating leb, sofa, paper, and cooper. In my opinion, to be 5th you should have to have good records vs a majority of people below you. Finally, 1More’s worst loses mostly came from early tournaments. In the same section of recent tournaments, his losses are the top 4, diffy x2, blackbeard, and artiria. Spaku’s are the top 4, jate, boost x2, 1More x2, Qwil, diffy, and jaaahsh. To me, this makes it clear that 1More is better than Spaku. Viewing the beginning of the season more lightly, I feel, is justified because it was the first month or so of the game’s existence, so it is bound to be less consistent.
  6. Something of note as well, I’d be down to discuss spaku vs fosho for who should be higher because I honestly had the hardest time determining who was better between them.
  7.
  8. I feel as if I should defend some of my other placements as well because they were a bit different than others and it might help you guys to understand where I’m coming from on them.
  9.
  10. Jate at 8th
  11. He has the best wins out of anyone except for the top 4 and 1More. Ignoring the early portion of the season, he has very few bad loses, the worst of which is being 0-3 vs cooper and 0-2 vs leb. He made top 48 at FB5 which was also done by spaku and tybol who are being rated highly while jate is being left to a lower portion of the rankings. He also consistently placed 9th with two outliers in recent tournaments, one 4th and one 17th. Comparing this consistency to others around the same skill level like Boost and diffy, boost got a few more 17ths than jate with a lower peak of 5th and didn’t make it out of pools at full bloom. Diffy had a 33rd, a lower peak at 5th, and also didn’t make it out of pools at full bloom.
  12.
  13. Boost, Qwil, Diffy, Tybol being 9-12
  14. This was the hardest section to rank for me and I can probably be convinced otherwise. Boost has notably had a rough season with his recent performances being bounced back and forth between 5th and 17th showing some inconsistency. However, a win over Monty, 3-2 over Spaku, and 2-0 on tybol also proves to be a good peak to say that he can be this level.
  15. Putting myself at 10th was also based on this same theory of recent tournaments being more important. The same lineup of tournaments for me were 9th, 5th, 7th, 5th, and 97th at FB5. My H2H is good compared to others of this same skill bracket because I’m 1-0 over Monty, 1-1 with spaku, have a win over fosho (1-2), 1-0 with steininja, and 2-2 with Jate with me winning the most recent 2. I never played cooper, sofa, or tybol at a purdue tournament so removing them, I have wins over 8/12 people. This is the same percentage as diffy’s 10/15 and more than boosts 6/14. Finally, my bad loses were all toward the beginning of the season. I wish the last tournament of the year could have counted for PR because it would give me a significant step of substance toward my claim.
  16. Diffy could easily be above me though. The reason I put him below me is that he had worse loses and more recently (Clap, Damon, Obsiidian, Artiria x2, that guy he played round 1 at FB), but his wins are of at least equal quality if you include Amadeus from early season and he definitely has more quantity of wins than me.
  17. Finally tybol at 12th. This was probably my most controversial one. I had a hard time putting him higher though because he didn’t really beat anyone except spaku, leb, and wulfen. 1-1 with jate and cooper is fine but I don’t think the quality or quantity of the wins are as good as anyone above him.
  18.
  19. Paper vs Cooper
  20. To be completely honest, I can easily see cooper over paper too. The level of top placings, wins, loses, etc is about the same. I’ll probably end up switching them on my resubmission because cooper has a 3-0 over jate.
