  1. Race:
  2. Dwarves can live to be more than 400 years old, so the oldest living dwarves often remember a very different world. This longevity grants them a perspective on the world that shorter-lived races such as humans and halflings lack.
  3. Dwarven skin ranges from deep brown to a paler hue tinged with red, but the most common shades are light brown or deep tan, like certain tones of earth. Their hair, worn long but in simple styles, is usually black, gray, or brown, though paler dwarves often have red hair. Male dwarves value their beards highly and groom them carefully. As a mountain dwarf, you're strong and hardy, accustomed to a difficult life in rugged terrain. You're probably on the tall side (for a dwarf), and tend toward lighter coloration.
  4.
  5. Background: You come from a Dwarven city known as Sapphire Gate, located in the Griff Mountains. It is a trading city, and the citizens constantly produce new materials and creations to ship out to the larger world - almost as often as they import strange oddities to tinker with and reinvent.
  6. You and your two brothers run a fairly typical smithy, at least as far as dwarves are concerned. Your role in the creation of weapons in armor involves imbuing them with magics, using powerful runes installed in the smithy, courtesy of your grandfather. Outside of your work, you have dabbled in some runic magic of your own, which has led you to discover a patron that whispers secrets to you as you work.
  7.
  8. Goal: Somewhat recently, your brother, Oskar left Sapphire Gate to travel the world. Based on weekly letters he wrote, you discovered that he had ventured into the kingdom of Anduria, a theocracy that now spans a decent portion of the continent. Unfortunately, his weekly letters have recently stopped, which is very out of character for Oskar. This has spurred you and your brother to set out to find him and make sure he is all right.
