  1. Ishta, the Heroine’s Quest
  2. First Ishto Excellency
  3. Ishta is loud and dramatic, and lives for the approval of others. She believes in the power of words, and the might of heroes. Her power is channelled through the voice, and she detests silence and inactivity. She is always moving and never stops, for she considers a moment with neither thought nor action a kind of death. For her, all life is a narrative made to inspire, and every moment a chance to grow stronger. Ishta believes in the power within, in heroic leadership, in friendship earnt through adversity and in growing from your failures.
  4.
  5. Ishta’s excellency is valid in situation where she chooses the dramatic, flashy route over the subtle or simpler alternatives. As an oddity of Ishta, it may always enhance singing.
  6. It may never be used to take the easy way out, to kill someone through treachery or unexpected attacks, or to avoid dramatic conflict. If it serves her goals, Ishta may be subtle, but only on the way to greater glories.
  7.
  8. Ishta Mythos Exultant
  9. Ishta’s skill is awe-inspiring, changing defeated foes to allies in the challenge of life. Whenever she makes a stunt on an opposed action, she may sacrifice her stunt dice or her stunt reward to make an immediate, free unblockable social attack, using a pool of Charisma+Presence. She gains additional successes on this roll equal to her stunt dice. A successful attack is treated as (Essence+Stunt rating) scenes building a positive intimacy towards the Infernal. Before bonus successes, a single willpower negates this natural mental influence.
  10.
  11. Sorcerous Enlightenment of Ishta
  12. Ishta’s sorcery is a work of amazing displays and powerful magics of the self. Her enlightenment may not be used to cast any spell that weakens a specific being or group of beings (unless through damage.) It may be used to cast spells that increase the warlock’s capabilities, or perform tremendous acts of magic to create or destroy. Spells cast through this enlightenment are always highly obvious and extremely showy.
  13.
  14. Ascendency Mantle of Ishta
  15. Ishta’s power is at its greatest when all hope is lost. Her Ascendency Mantle functions only when she has less than half of her temporary willpower remaining, or suffers from at least a -2 wound penalty.
  16.
  17. The Protagonist
  18. The Protagonist is a being of power who strikes hard and never gives up. By spending five motes, he increases the minimum damage of all of his attacks by one for a scene (making it two unless using an O weapon), and gains additional dying levels equal to twice his essence. In addition, he is capable of acting while in his dying levels. This ability activates reflexively at no cost when the Protagonist reaches 11+motes of peripheral essence.
  19.
  20. Words of Power
  21. Cost: (+2m), Mins: Ishto, Essence 2, Type: Permanent
  22. Keywords: Obvious
  23. Duration: Permanent
  24. Prerequisite Charms: None
  25.
  26. Ishta’s power needs to be known, announced, shouted to the world-subtlety does not come naturally to him.
  27. This charm allows him to enhance any other charm which has an effect based on one of his statistics. By spending an additional two motes on that charm, and rendering both its invocation and this charm Obvious, he shouts the Charm’s name, or some related phrase, allowing him to focus and enhance his might.
  28. He may increase a relevant statistic by one for the purpose of that charm invocation, and all immediate effects thereof (such as the resolution of an excellency-enhanced attack).
  29. He could shout the name GREEN SUN NIMBUS FLARE (with the Wrath Stoked Bonfire Soul upgrade), and treat his essence as one higher, or cry out ‘FOR THE LORDS OF HELL!’ as he invokes a Melee excellency to gain an additional die on an attack roll (as well as raising his dice caps on that single attack).
  30. Stunts involving the obvious display of this charm, whether based on dramatic essence flares or the shout itself, are just as valid as stunts describing the results of the action.
