  21. [17:22:08] Samantha Montbell asks, "I've, uh, I've got nothing to do today. Are you free? We could go look for a place to eat or talk?"

  23. [17:22:59] Samantha Montbell says, "How uh,about the tavern? I just came from there - spent the night there, I mean."

  34. [17:28:57] Samantha fiddled with her thumbs, flicking bits of dirt that were stuck underneath the nails. Save for her hands, she looked pretty well-maintained. Clean. But there was a new kind of aura to her, like she carries more of a presence. And it was thanks to her newfound powers she gained in her absence.

  36. Though it took no small amount of strength to contain the urge to cry and pull Okami in for the World's Longest Hug. For her sake, and her dignity, she kept it together.

  38. "It really has been forever. I kept thinking about you and the others. My friends back in the city. I almost worried myself sick."

  40. The lass had a nervous sideglance, as if she were still not fully convinced the girl in front of her was actually real.
  41. "It came down like a boulder. The whole realization that you, or any of my friends for that matter, were probably hurt, killed - I don't...Even know. But I'm glad to see a friendly face in this city again. How have you been? What's been going on?"

  54. [17:32:22] Samantha Montbell says, "Then there was this whole fiasco between me 'n some Gehennans."

  122. [17:59:40] The hammer, despite having been in her possession since she was a wee lass, felt alien to her. Having an audience made her nervous, but Sam was determined nonetheless. The swelling in her chest did not subside since she met Okami. The beating in her soul would prove to be the catalyst for her success after all.

  124. With a little twirl of the tool, she'd get right to work. The newly gotten gains were placed into the forge and refined into workable materials for the blade. The sweat on her brow felt like an old friend; refreshing and nostalgic.

  126. Metal pounds into a rhythmic drum solo, sending sparks of her labor into the air. Like a flowery show of fireworks.
  127.  
  128. Pretty descriptions aside, the blade itself was finally finished. Sam would go to work on the hilt and grip which was fine and lavished with the best materials she had on her.
  129. Of course since this was a special gift, she'd make it extra remarkable.

  131. She sat herself on the bench and began to carve tiny letterings with an extra-fine tip. Perhaps a charm of some sort. Time passed slowly as she finished up the rest of her decorations and finishing touches.

  133. A mythril sword, Okami would find, would be exponentially lighter than the one she had in her possession.
  134. Only when it was finally finished and held up to the street light would Sam realize she hadn't spoken a word since she started.

  136. "Finished. Nice, right? I know it's nothing immensely great. But I hope you'll find some use for an ol' blade like this. I really want to say again. I really appreciate you and everything you've done for me. You might not know what I'm talking about, but I wanted to share with you my tribulations. Thanks for staying alive. Now there's some peace in my heart for once."

  148. [18:09:55] Inspects the light blade that was comparative to a dagger when weighed up with the greatsword. It looked much heavier than it truly was, Okami took a couple swings with the blade that were away from her friend and found how great it felt to swing another sword.

  150. "Ohh..Ti..Um? What does that mean?"
  151.  
  152. The girl said as she read the carved letters.
  153.  
  154. "I'll hang this up somewhere nice after I'm done with it, I'll keep it safe for now though. Wouldn't want it to get scratched or damaged right after its creation!"

  156. Okami stuffed the Mythril Masterpiece into her bag, wrapped up in some cloth. She'd have to find a sheathe for the blade sooner or later.

  160. [18:13:20] Aisor was walking back from the shrines when he, inevitably as it seems, spotted a certain redhair by the stalls. At first, the young valmasian lad didn't bother too much with a second glance, but as he eventually did it, he halted his steps almost immediately. He knew that hair, although not the kimono the woman was wearing?

  162. "Sam!?" he asked with a loud enough voice completely out of his own surprise to see her there. Or at the very least, someone he thought to be Samantha. "Sam, is that you?"

  164. Finally, the dark dressed boy approached the stall, still standing a couple of steps away just in case that wasn't Samantha whatsoever. They spent so much time searching for her it wouldn't be too much of a surprise to have one's mind playing some tricks when it came to other people looking like her.

  168. [18:20:09] Sam wiped her sweaty brow with the sleeve of her kimono, leaving a satisfied smile in her wake. The cloth stuck to her skin, but the easy-breathing material made it easy to cool down. She was thankful for Okami for this wonderful gift.

  170. "Nice innit? Sorry I couldn't make a scabbard for ya. I know craftsman in Jianghu make their weapons differently." the lass chuckles.
  171.  
  172. The sudden cry in an indiscriminate direction caught her attention. She did a take over her shoulder, finding the voice to be eerily familiar. Goosebumps popped up on her arms, as her brain began to put a name on that voice.
  173. It became even further apparent.

  175. Was that--

  177. --Aisor?
  178.  
  179. "--sor? Aisor??"
  180.  
  181. Samantha had fully turned around, meeting eyes with what looked to be a ghost from her past.
  182. Why, this might as well be reunion day.

  184. "Aisor!" she called in response. "It's..." Samantha looked over her shoulder, regarding Okami. "It's my old buddy Aisor! How the hell have you been keeping, friend?"

  186. [18:30:24] "W-Well I'm about to ask you the very same! We've been searching for you ever since the Avalon fell, Harper and her friend as well!" the young lad surprisingly said with the brightest of the smiles on his face. It could be considered strange, for how serious that young wizard could be for most of the time. "Everybody has settled up in the Volcano with the others but-"

  188. He shook his head, glancing over to Ashiyo and back at Samantha, only to smile even further. God damn she was alive!
  189.  
  190. "B-But how the heck did you get out of Avalon in time!? For all we knew the southern march got you and-" and he sighed, finally noticing how much he has been saying with an almost unstoppable parade of words. Taking a short deep breath, he tried to sound and look calmer, though his anxiety and joy to finally see Samantha was evident. "...Nevermind all of that- how are you!?"

  206. [18:34:40] Samantha Montbell asks, "Everyone's at the settlement then?"

  213. [18:35:31] Samantha Montbell asks, "Speaking of "everyone" then, do you know where the rest of your family is, Okami?"
  214. [18:35:31] Aisor Lightfellow says, "The settlement is temporary but there's a very clear unrest among the settlers. Some are living at the Cliff- here, I mean."
  215. [18:35:31] Samantha Montbell says, "I've been meaning to ask."
  216. [18:35:31] Okami Ashiyo says, "Nope."
  217. [18:35:31] Faust Di Maria asks, "Redhead girl, whats your name if I may ask?"
  218. [18:36:22] Samantha Montbell says, "Hmph. I am a nobl- ....."

  228. [18:38:04] Faust Di Maria exclaims, "A pleasure, hope to see you again!"

  235. [18:38:56] Aisor Lightfellow exclaims, "And say I'm not moving my eyes from you until I'm certain you won't FREAKING DISAPPEAR!"
  236. [18:38:56] Samantha Montbell says, "Hohohoh. It's so rare to see you so riled up, Aisor."
  237. [18:41:29] He huffs, sighing, deep breathing and rolling his eyes. His rod - or walking cane - being down to the grass and held with both hands. His expression is a very clear attempt of someone trying to look angry. Except he wasn't. And failed at even trying.

  239. "We all thought you were completely and utterly dead for the past year, and to say we were worried is a very, veeeery unfair understatement of what how've been when it came to you."

  241. He closed both of his eyes, huffing yet again, until he opened a single one to spot Sam, not helping it but smirking sideways, almost snorting even.

  243. If anything, Aisor seemed to lose the war but to gain a fucking personality in the process.

  251. [18:44:54] "This here is my friend Okami. We've known each other a short while, but we've been through a bit. Met each other right as the civil war here erupted. I could explain that in more detail, but I don't wanna."

  253. A devilish smile tugged at the side of her lips. "Of course, I could tell you all about my absence in explicit detail; provided you treat us to a meal or two." The Montbell lass rubs her index and thumb together - the gesture for money. "I'm a little lackin' in cash."

  255. Sam wraps an arm around the young okami and pulls her into a hug. Thankfully she was one of the very few people she was tall enough to do that to.
  256. "Y'gotta pay for us. Together."

  260. [18:52:35] The dark haired lad smiled openly at Okami's wave, completely dispelling that small mask of an angry one. He wasn't angry and even if he tried to sound like it, it would only serve him the ridiculous face instead.

  262. "Then I must say it is a pleasure to meet you, Miss Okami, my name is Aisor and I'm an old friend - partner - of our common friendly troublemaker and professional escapist from reality, Sam." Aisor said with the very eloquence of someone who probably had that memorized. Except he didn't, he was just good with words. Being 'good' however something very subjective. "But I can see Booky weren't the only one to make new friends when the war was over. Me? I befriended a new clothes, thank you very much."

  264. He smirked, nodding to himself as he indeed was dressed in a more comfortable way. No longer a long coat, but a short dark laced shirt typical from the valmasian military or the nobility. Probably a point between both.

  266. "But of course, of course, mind you." he started, making quite an expression as he motioned towards the Ardent Square, more noticeably, to the tavern. "Paying you both a meal in exchange for the incredible story of how our magnificent Rusty Sam walked herself alive from the Gehennian War? A low price to pay, so much I feel like a scammer." his grin widened a little, only to be finished by a second nod. "This is just me agreeing on it, naturally."

  280. [18:58:33] Aisor actually walked inside the tavern removing his tall leather boots while doing so, leaving it at the corner side of the entrance, only to guide the small group to one of the booths to the side.

"Well, since I've been here for longer you, Rusty, I'm going to suggest the very typical rice with pork, but feel free to ask for anything." the young lad said as he made his way into the booth, settling down over a small cushion and gesturing to Samantha and the others to take their seats as well. "And definitely feel free to start your tale as soon as...Hm, as soon as you find your cue to be, naturally."

  284. [19:00:16] Samantha Montbell says, "Mmh. You can get whatever you want. As much of it as you want. My friend'll pay for all of us."

  286. [19:10:30] Having ordered a satisfying amount, Samantha nudges Aisor and eyed him up with a taunting glance. "Eat. Drink. We'll have a celebration in the name of our reunion, friends."

Samantha put down her tea cup, meeting the table with a satisfying 'clat'. "I had a great wanderlust that took me to lands far. I was offline for several days I was honing my abilities. Learning to better myself magically. Of course after the whole Gehennan kidnapping incident, Harper and I felt obliged to strength ourselves. When such an occasion were to arise once more, we'd be better prepared. You...Must understand. I didn't stop thinking of you all - even moreso when I came back to find my home gone."

  292. A forlorn Sam stared down at her cup. To have lost her home once, and then again. It took a terrible toll on her. Even if Aisor would never know the depths of her sorrow, as cliché as that might sound. It was arduous to keep it all in.

  302. [19:19:02] Aisor sat down with the very etiquette to be expected out of his. Except however, he had a very clear problem with sitting down over cushions, never making sure where to put his legs, or even how. He sat down over his own ankles however, kneeling over that small pillow as if he learned how to do so after observing others. Not that it was comfortable by any means.

  304. He smiled however, on a very familiar way as Samantha started to talk. He wouldn't say it out loud but he clearly missed the sound of her voice, among other things from the late Lost Heaven tavern.

  306. "Then you've missed the worst parts of the Avalon's Fall, I'm glad to hear that so." the lad said nodding as the food and drinks came. While Sam served herself with tea, Aisor opted for some wine instead, pouring it down a porcelain cup so he could drink. As for his food, the rice and pork indeed were the options. With forks and knife, definitely. He didn't know how to use those hashis just yet. "I've actually took place in the defensive lines when the whole city fell, but we managed to pull back before too late. I've actually searched for you and Booky among the refugees, but up to no luck."

  308. He sighed briefly, letting some of that fire die down so he could eat and drink - and talk - more properly.

  310. "That's when I found Booky up in the volcano with a new friend of hers, along the other survivors. Me, however? I'm down to the cliff as you can see." with a brief smirk, he couldn't help but to notice Samantha's kimono. "I can see you plan on making a life down here as well, hm?"

  312. [19:26:43] Velrona took her own seat among the cushions, her legs crossed up indian-style, back straightened. The small girl tried to keep any amount of etiquette among her actions as she could muster - there wasn't much, but the attempts were clear as she slowed her usual fidgeting to listen to the two's conversation and stories.

  314. The somewhat-graceful atmosphere surrounding the girl quickly melted away, though, as the food was laid down on the table. A full meal.. something she hadn't have for as long as she could remember. A warm, restaurant-cooked meal put off an irresistible aroma, one much more enticing than her usual simple meals of apples, rice and cheese.

  316. Her head flicked around in each of the three other diner's directions, checking to see if anybody was reaching in for her target. Everything was clear, it seemed, so she reached in to pull out a plate of fish and rice. Barely even bothering to remember to grab some chopsticks, Velroma started to dig into the cooked cod, shoveling small mouthfuls between her lips at a somewhat savage, possibly rude pace.

  318. "..Mmh, th-thank you for the food!" she'd mumble, words muffled through rice and cod.

  320. [19:31:50] Okami grabbed a plate of an unidentified dish cause fuck you. Letting the three others talk while she hungrily devoured the.. food.

  322. "A lot of people were lost due to the Siege of Avalon, a couple friends as well.."

  324. This would be interrupted by the girl grabbing a cup of tea, sipping quietly. Luckily the tea and food wasn't poisoned like it would have probably been in Valmasian lands. Never to trust a Valmasian is what they said. Heck off is what Okami would have thought.

  326. "The.. food is quite good, thank you for this."
  327. Okami said as she yet again stuffed her mouth, wondering what this meal could have been if her to be mother-in-law would have made it. She lost her train of thought and wondered where her boyfriend was.

[19:37:48] "Please don't mind, this is the least I can do for a dear missing friend such as Rusty over here." he said with a polite nod towards the others, entirely not minding how aggressively both the misses went to eat all that was over their table. Aisor could a low noble indeed, but he wouldn't be one to judge other people's behaviors.

  331. "But, we heard what happened in the past, as well as you now know how much we are acquaints." Aisor said moving the hand he held the cup as if to mention Sam besides him. His eyes, however, came to remain on the two younger ladies across the table. "But besides your name which you already gave me, and yours I never got." his smiling face motioned to Okami and Shao alike, only so he could finish his wine. "Who are you two, hm?"

  333. With a small thud noise, he rested his own cup at the table, taking his time before he started eating properly.

"Me, for instance, I'm recently a temporary resident of Ardent Cliff and a trainee under the Fourfold Army for reasons I'm certain Rusty will owe me a punch for; thought it remains the truth." side glancing the redhead, he nodded, finally reaching out for the food. "Though you both seem to be young, would I be right to assume you're already taking your places in the dangers of the modern life of Agartha?"

  337. [19:42:04] "Thought I already mentioned the one in red was Okami. Or were you so distracted by my blossoming beauty you forgot? Hohoho. It's good to be me." Samantha mused. "Right. While I don't mind the nickname Rusty, I wish you had picked something cuter."

  339. The lass would glean vicarious pleasure just from watching the two young'uns eat. It filled her stomach as well.
  340. "Moving that aside. I'm actually surprised you decided to live here. Figured you would've gone 'n stayed with Harper or something."

  342. Though our original plans were dashed, I don't see any more reason for you to stick around. she thought.

  344. "And you've got it all wrong. I don't plan to stay in one place. Though I would love to hear your reason behind joining the army."

  346. [19:46:20] Swallowing her last mouthful of food, her eyes would flick down to what remained on her plate. Nothing more than a skeletal fish, it'd seem, a few straggler grains of rice sprinkled around the dish. In a final attempt to save face for the greedy, messy consumption earlier, she'd pick up a cloth from the table to clear her lips of any scraps that were left over.

  348. The small girl's ears would flick around on the top of her head as the man motioned to her.. her name! She hadn't even thought to introduce herself, and they had already bought her food. How rude of her! "..I'm uhm.. I'm Velrona, p-pleased to meet you!" she'd squeak, the stutter in her voice quite apparent.

  350. Laying her dirtied chopsticks down on the emptied plate, she'd cross her hands and set them on her lap.

  352. [19:49:45] "Well, I'm aiming high and trying to become a part of the Illuminated one day. Been here for about four years, some of the best four years of my life."

  354. Okami said as she finished her not food. Emptying her cup of tea into her mouth, yet again thinking how good it was to not be poisoned.

  357. [19:59:08] Velrona continued after stating her name, because she's greedy and needs checks. "..I uh.. I'm not quite sure what I want to do yet. ..I want to be strong just like the Fourfold, or something like that, but I don't know if I want to join them!" she'd say, beaming towards the man who asked.

  359. It was true, she didn't have much of an objective when it came to her life in Agartha. The only thing she could think of was to be strong, but even that wasn't too satisfactory in even her own opinion. She needed some sort of purpose, but it'd seem she hadn't found it yet. No matter, she was perfectly happy to stay waiting, for now.

  361. [20:05:58] Sam crossed her arms and nodded thoughtfully, as if Velrona said something particularly resounding. "Yes, yes. It's difficult to choose. Though I know Aisor has some affinity with magic..." The lass a low rumbling sound, looking ever-so troubled.

  363. "Yeah...Hey, Aisor," she stops herself to stuff some dumplings in her mouth. "You think you could show me to the settlement later? Y'know after we eat and you tell me why you joined the army and why you think I'd punch you?"

  365. She thought about the prospect of being a part of an army. To be able to receive benefits for working. She weighed pros and cons, but mostly thought about her chances of being able to meet potential crafters that may assist her in her endeavor.
