Background:
   ↳ August's grew up the oldest of three, she always took care of her younger siblings and helped out around the hotel as much as she could. All her free time was taken up with reading and fencing. She soon became a youth fencing representative for America. Her life was practically perfect. As August got older the hotel began to lose traffic, less and less people were coming to stay and they could barely cover the bills. In order to keep the hotel afloat August's dad took out a loan from a loan-shark but was unable to pay it back. One night August's mother was tucking her in to bed, reading her a book about the pagan persecution in France, the hotel was set on fire. They didn't notice until the smoke started to filter under the door. August's mother picked her up and ran her downstairs and out of the burning house, burning herself and her daughter in the process. Once she made sure August was okay she ran back into the house in search of her her sons. She never came back out. At age 13 August became an orphan, this is when she got the sight.

     ↳ From that day August developed an all consuming obsession with the occult, wicca and paganism, the subjects of the book she had been reading and her only tie to her mother and family. Her psychologist said this was a result of the extreme trauma, her brain was clinging to the last moment she had a sense of security, reading that book. She was moved from France to America and was adopted by a couple - Dembe and Amandla Zuma. She became flueant in English and her new parents and sister supported her obsession with the occult, even taking her to see different experts on the subject so she could learn more. The first time she astral projected was when she was 14, it was her first time fencing since the fire and her opponent knocked her to the floor and held their foil to her neck, August freaked and suddenly wasn't in her body anymore.
