FFXIV PC/PS4 Update Fix

DISCLAIMER: This may not fix it for you but it has worked for many others. Hopefully it helps.

Having issues with updating the FFXIV launcher/patching the game on PC and PS4? Although annoying it's very easy to fix.

PC: Try using a VPN. Cyberghost is a free VPN that you can use (paid version is waaaaaaaay faster). When you get to the patch that fails to download just turn on the VPN, download that patch and once it moves on to the next one turn off the VPN and restart the launcher. If you encounter any other problems with patching just repeat the process till it's fully updated.


PS4: Change your DNS settings on your PS4. Go to your Settings, Network then setup your connection. Do the custom setup and choose the automatic setting for everything except DNS. Use this for your primary and secondary DNS:  4.2.2.2 and 4.2.2.3 .   If your connection is solid then it should download/update with no issues.
