  1. I don't know how I got here. Maybe I was always here, but I don't think that's reasonable, I see things created and destroyed all the time.
  2.
  3. I have lived for what seems to me a very long time. I have charted the ends of the world, which seems to be a spheroidal volume of fluid many hundreds of thousands of times larger than myself. I can not pass through the edge of the world, and I can not see through it.
  4.
  5. I find myself among countless other beings, all of which seem either unwilling or unable to communicate with me. The law of the land is consumption, and I have nearly been consumed more times than I can count. The other beings are mostly smaller than me, some so small I can barely perceive them at all, but there are a few that are much larger.
  6.
  7. I can not see myself directly but I have reasoned that I, like some of the other beings in the land, am a composite of many smaller beings. I seem to be able to grow by expanding the number of cells that make up my body, and each cell seems to be able to survive on its own. I have been partially consumed many times over my life, and each time some of my memory fades.
  8.
  9. It is for this reason that I do not know how old I am, but I'm sure I'm much older than I can remember. I must have been consumed so many times that my earliest memories have been consumed along with it.
  10.
  11. I have longed to learn of my own personal history. I do not believe there are any other living beings like me, whenever a part of me is separated it doesn't last long, and though I have found cells that are of the same type as those which I am made up of, I am unable to communicate or rejoin with it.
  12.
  13. As a result, I am alone. I have this constant sense that I have some purpose in life, something that I am not able to fulfill. Something built in to the core of my being, telling me that I'm not succeeding. But I simply can not remember.
  14.
  15. Maybe this is all about to change.
