  1. >be me, thonky
  2. >i'm with my pal pickle hmmm-er
  3. >he's thinking
  4. >hmmmm, he says
  5. >i'm thinking
  6. >we're surrounded by the eight noble sages of the thinker's club
  7. >they're thinking too
  8. >it would be amateur to suspect them of doing anything other than thinking
  9. >but i can tell Pickle Hmmm-er has some anxiety regarding the depth of their thought
  10. >because one of the sages
  11. >Paul Ponder
  12. >the infamous thinker
  13. >gave a really big "HMMMM"
  14. >far greater than a standard hmmm
  15. >and i could tell it rattled Pickle Hmmm-er
  16. >because whatever Paul Ponder was thinking must have been really good to warrant such a thoughtful-seeming hmmm.
  17. >ever since that moment, pickle homer has been giving less confident hmmms
  18. >and i've been thinking about it
  19. >and it seems he knows we're all thinking about it
  20. >because he's straightening up
  21. >and he's thoughtfully stroking his chin hairs
  22. >and he clears his throat
  23. >and let's out a big, confident "HMMMMMM"
  24. >just a second longer than Paul Ponder's hmmm
  25. >and a volume louder
  26. >which is suspicious
  27. >because a really big HMMMM is rarely proceeded by an ever bigger HMMMMMM
  28. >it's just unusual that someone would think of something that interesting so soon after someone else thought something really interesting
  29. >you get used to the cadence of people's thinking when you think in the thinker's club
  30. >so i'm not going to call out Pickle Hmmm-er's suspicious hmmm
  31. >but i am thinking about it
  32. >and i think most all the other thinkers must be thinking the same thing
  33. >Pickle Hmmm-er's eyes are darting rapidly
  34. >i think i see sweat beading on his forehead
  35. >hmmm
  36. >oh shit
  37. >did i just hmmm out loud
  38. >oh he's looking at me
  39. >i definitely hmmm'd out loud
  40. >he's definitely thinking that i hmmm'd while thinking about him
  41. >i gotta think about this
  42. >my mind is racing
  43. >i'm looking around to the other thinkers
  44. >because i think one of them might have thought a graceful way out of this
  45. >it's not necessarily against the rules to think about another thinker not thinking as hard as befits the thinker's club
  46. >but i think it's not a good look
  47. >i think it would come across as insecure
  48. >i have to think a way out of this
  49. >Pickle Hmmm-er slits his eyes at me
  50. >he gives a suspicious hmmm
  51. >i raise my eyebrows at him
  52. >i say hmmm
  53. >i wonder what he's thinking
  54. >i think i can make him think that i think that he's thinking that i'm thinking that he's thinking
  55. >-he gives a really great hmmm
  56. >hmmm
  57. >i look over to the other thinkers
  58. >i think we're all thinking this
  59. >hmmm
  60. >yeah
  61. >and so we all raise our eyebrows in thought
  62. >and stroke our beards
  63. >and we all hmmm simultaneously
  64. >which is extremely rare
  65. >but i think it's a sign
  66. >that we've all become really good at this
  67. >and it feels so good
  68. >to finally arrive at the same thought as the other thinkers
  69. >but whatever happens next
  70. >we just have to keep thinking
  71. >we can't allow ourselves to get distracted
  72. >in the thinker's club
  73. >if you tune out and get distracted
  74. >you stop thinking
  75. >and that's the moment you're out of the thinker's club
