✧ background: hayeon grew up in jeju with her parents and older sister for the first ten years of her life. from a young age, she was influenced by classical music, and learned how to play the piano, violin, and harp. her parents never approved of kpop and any other sorts of western influenced music, so hayeon never experienced anything other than beethoven, mozart, and chopin as well as other iconic composers for a long time. when she was eleven and her sister was fifteen, her father received a promotion and the family moved to seoul. through friends she made there, as well as jihye (who was going through a rebellious stage), hayeon began to be exposed to other types of music, and fell in love with kpop immediately. ever since then, she secretly wanted to audition for an entertainment company, but never worked up the courage to ask her parents if she could. she only managed to audition when she was seventeen with the help of her sister, and she discovered that her parents weren't all to disapproving towards her becoming a kpop idol.

✦ A B O U T ✦

✧ personality: hayeon is a timid and relatively serious girl who is often referred to as high strung, and gets stressed out over the smallest things. growing up with a very boisterous and expressive sister, she always felt the need to conform to the mold her parents held for her, and as a result has a bit of a confidence issue. she also cares too much about what others think of her, and believes that their opinions will determine her fate. almost everything she does is to live up to everyone's expectations, and if she does even one thing wrong, she'll end up scolding herself over it for days and days. to the public, hayeon doesn't seem like she would be fit as leader of the group because of her lack of confidence and shyness, but her softspoken empathy and endless patience are what make her such a good leader. keeping up with a bunch of hyper teenagers is a strenuous task, and while hayeon does get extreme bouts of stress because of her members, she loves them all and doesn't mind at all taking care of them. she is a bit of a contradiction, seeing as she is the one least likely to speak out, but if you observe carefully, you can see her doing small little actions to help her members, like whispering words of encouragement, and giving consoling hugs, as well as softly scolding them off when they do something wrong. her personality isn't very commanding, but she has a sort of ability to capture everyone's attention and silence them without even having to raise her voice.

✧ first meeting and initial reaction to each other: on the day of astro's first stage after their debut, aurora was holding a stage too or smth. one of the other members (maknae probs) needed to use the restroom, and hayeon being the loyal eomma she is walked her to the bathroom. the maknae went in, and while hayeon was waiting outside, the other girl went to join the other members, cluelessly passing the leader. hayeon stood there for a while longer, then went inside to check and found the restroom empty. scared that she had lost the maknae, she started panicking a bit (nothing new tbh) and walked out, trying to calm herself. she was muttering quietly under her breath, and wasn't looking where she was going when she bumped into mj. when she looked up to see who she had walked into, he was giving her a bright smile and asking if everything was okay. hayeon thought he was exceptionally hot, and started panicking even worse (because lets be honest, who acts normal around hot guys?) even more worried, mj asks whats wrong, and tried to help her, eventually leading her back to aurora's dressing room, where the other members thank him for bring their leader back to them safely. later, hayeon is extremely embarrassed when she learns it was his first stage ever, and he was calmer than she ever was.

✧ how your character acts around them: hayeon is extremely shy, more than she is around anyone else, and a bit put off by how happy and carefree he is. she feels a bit uncomfortable at first, because she's jealous of how he can live without any anxiety or stress, but later on she starts to open up to him and becomes a bit more relaxed (which makes her and her members happy.)

✧ how they act around your character: he's very smiley and happy, just like he always is, except he tries to tone it down because he doesn't want her to be uncomfortable. he's always making cheesy jokes and acting silly, basically anything to make her smile and feel at home and like herself around him.
