- War. War never changes.
- Bout' two hundred and thirty years back, humans decided it'd be a good idea to nuke themselves into oblivion.
- Course' a few people survived. Those that could got into underground shelters called vaults.
- Those that couldn't... Well, they made do, best they could anyhow.
- When the smoke cleared and those people came outta their vaults and shelters, they found a world in ruins.
- Course, humans don't give up that easy; if they did we'da never got to the stuff they used to blow up the world in the first place!
- Over the course of decades humanity rebuilt, forming tribes then entirely new cultures and factions until eventually life had clawed itself back from the brink.
- Some folk just realized that working together made surviving a hell of a lot easier than being a buncha braindead raiders knockin' each other down over and over.
- Some learned about their history all over again - just, seems they learned the wrong lessons.
- And some still sought to do some good out here, if you can believe it.
- End of the day, turns out that southern values of family, community, and that good old southern hospitality never really died. Just took a big nap.
- Course' there are still a few people out these ways that wanna make life miserable for everyone else. Just ask the moonshiners - if they don't shootcha first! [laugh]
- Course' with some folk from up north wanderin' into town, Nash is startin' to look a bit like a few other places I've been. Shady Sands. The NCR. The Capital Wasteland. The Mojave. The Commonwealth.
- Always ended in a fight those places. Wonder if this place is gonna wind up the same.
- Ah but enough of my ramblin'. Why don't you tell me a bit about yerselves?
