  2. 1:53:01 PM+CloverwindQuickdanceThis is interesting.
  3. 1:53:31 PM+CloverwindQuickdanceRand Paul seems like a vapid ideologue.
  4. 1:53:48 PM+CloverwindQuickdanceThis clip is a fair summary of everything I despise about libertarianism.
  5. 1:54:08 PM← MuslimMan has left
  6. 1:54:41 PM+CloverwindQuickdanceHis positions are demolished by Sanders and then he responds with his axioms.
  7. 1:55:10 PM+NoodlingUnderCoverNerd: Amazing how utterly two-faced the republican party is, isn't it?
  8. 1:55:33 PM Stopped ignoring UnderCoverNerd!*@*
  9. 1:55:42 PM← sardaukar has quit (Ping timeout)
  10. 1:55:54 PM+CloverwindQuickdanceNoodling: I think they're a better analysis than describing them as 'two-faced'.
  11. 1:56:32 PM+CloverwindQuickdanceNoodling: The dominant/powerful ideology in our culture is that truth and other values like accountability matter.
  12. 1:57:13 PM+CloverwindQuickdanceOnce a system is defined and rules are in place, there is always incentives to us mimicry to appear to have those values, while having other values or underspending resources for those values.
  13. 1:57:19 PM@UnderCoverNerdi like how rand paul goes on and on about how it would be slavery, then goes on to say the current situation is fine anyway cuz they are guaranteed access
  14. 1:57:26 PM+CloverwindQuickdanceI use the word mimicry because this strategy is a very ancient one in evolutionary systems.
  15. 1:57:27 PM@UnderCoverNerdbut that isn't slavery???
  16. 1:57:40 PM@UnderCoverNerdso his hospital forcing him to, not slavery. teh government paying for it, is slavery
  17. 1:57:41 PM@UnderCoverNerdo ok
  18. 1:57:42 PM+CloverwindQuickdanceWhy grow a huge claw that makes me move slowly and takes a lot of food to feed if I can just appear to have a huge claw.
  19. 1:57:54 PM+CloverwindQuickdanceUnderCoverNerd: I am glad you watched the video.
  20. 1:58:07 PM+CloverwindQuickdanceHis slavery argument is pure hyperbole designed to trigger emotions rather than discuss facts.
  21. 1:58:16 PM+CloverwindQuickdanceSanders model of healthcare is the same as mine, I believe.
  22. 1:58:21 PM+CloverwindQuickdanceSanders model is as follows:
  23. 1:58:36 PM+CloverwindQuickdance1. Say each person needs one unit of health services per year
  24. 1:58:48 PM+CloverwindQuickdance2. There are 10000 people in your system, so you need 10000 units of health services per year
  25. 1:59:06 PM+CloverwindQuickdance3. The system composed of people producing health services is generating 7000 units of health services per year
  26. 1:59:23 PM+CloverwindQuickdance4. Sanders would say something like each person should received 7/10 of a health service per year.
  27. 1:59:44 PM+CloverwindQuickdance5. The current system says each person is guaranteed something like 1/10 of a health service, but the rest, the 6000, can be purchased if you have more money.
  28. 2:00:04 PM+CloverwindQuickdance6. Democratic socialists like Sanders are not arguing for conscription of health service producers to get you to 10000 units per year
  29. 2:00:20 PM← Hedrin has quit (Client closed connection)
  30. 2:00:33 PM@UnderCoverNerdnot yet anyway
  31. 2:00:57 PM+CloverwindQuickdance7. Yes, you can imagine a system which advocates for the generation of 10000 units. Those systems have a likelihood of violating liberty/NAP
  32. 2:01:02 PMⓘ Debates set mode +l 51
  33. 2:02:10 PM+CloverwindQuickdance8. A system could try to mandate the production of 10000 units of healthcare services without violating NAP, potentially. The system would need to increase incentives for people to generate more health care services, or for more people to become producers, or for technology to multiply the current producers
  34. 2:02:47 PM+CloverwindQuickdance9. It appears governments can play an important role in moving markets like the above
  35. 2:03:14 PM@UnderCoverNerd7e: you're late, already discussed
  36. 2:03:30 PM@UnderCoverNerdwe call that pulling a mabus ;)
  37. 2:04:26 PM+CloverwindQuickdance10. If the government is currently spending 3 billion in a program to ensure everybody gets at least 1/10 of a healthcare service per year, acknowledged by Rand Paul in access to emergency rooms, the government can perhaps spend only 2 billion to modify existing healthcare service production to meet that same need. That would be a savings of 1 billion, *given you have the goal of ensuring everybody in your society has access to least 1/10 of a healthcare service per year*
  38. 2:04:33 PM+CloverwindQuickdanceWhich Rand Paul has
  39. 2:04:40 PMⓘ Mabus set mode +b *!*@192.241.168.26
