He grew up in the elven dwellings of Elcance. Where he was accepted as usual until he started growing a beard in true dwarven fashion and gained a sort of 'weirdo' status. Then when he was about fifteen or something he moved to live with the dwarves of Elcance and suddenly his beard was cool but he was too tall for everything. So to summarize, he spend most of his childhood feeling like an outcast.
