  1. Dsiware downgrade Information
  2.
  3. 1-This can only be done:
  4. O3ds-> O3DS/N3DS
  5. N3DS -> N3DS
  6. On the latest firmware
  7. This is because of console limitations, you cant transfer from a n3ds to a o3ds for nintendo reasons.
  8.
  9. 2-Formatting doesnt unlink the NNID, it simply "logs out" meaning the NNID is still linked to the 3ds and will be transfered in a system transfer even if the nnid is not logged in. NNID ARE LINKED TO THE CONSOLE SERIAL SO USING A EMUNAND IS NOT A WORKAROUND FOR THIS.
  10.
  11. 3-If you transfer from a source 3DS with NNID to a target 3DS without NNID but with a eshop account, the eshop accounts will merge,so bought content from both eshop accounts will be on the NNID on source 3ds nnid.
  12.
  13. 4-When you system transfer all the NNIDs (Nintendo network ID) linked to the source console are transfered to the target console.
  14. - That means if you transfer from 3ds #1 with nnid #1 to 3ds #2 with nnid #2 after the transfer, 3ds #2 will have nnid #1 and #2 linked and 3ds #1 with no nnnid linked to it, this will addup if you continue to use dsiware downgrade with 3ds #2 as source 3ds for another transfer, leading to a 3ds with lots of nnids linked to it.
  15.
  16. 5-Only ways to unlink a NNID is:
  17. a.call nintendo: they will ask you about the console serial,purchases, the credit card attached to the eshop.Phone method is recommended, the chat method only works if you have a credit card attached to the NNID or the security code from a prepaid card previously used with the NNID if you use the chat method and you dont have any of that info (because you dont have a credit card attached or you lost the prepiad card) they will redirect you to the phone method.
  18.
  19. b.Doing system transfer back to source: This can only be done in a O3DS->O3DS/N3DS->N3DS transfer, there is a 7 days limitation for system transfer and if you transfer back and the target console had a NNID linked, it will be transfered as well, this is not good method if you care about source and target NNIDs.
  20.
  21. c. Deleting it: If you dont care about the NNID you can simply delete it, by logging in then going to Nintendo Network Configuration in System Settings.
  22.
  23.
  24. 6-Different method for SD data: In my experience a O3ds-> O3DS transfer will give you different method to transfer SD data than a
  25. N3DS -> N3DS transfer
  26. For example a N3DS XL -> N3DS resulted in a SD transfer with no options, it forced me to move the microsd from source to target to transfer DSIWARE even though it transfered everything else wirelessly
