  1. >You wake up with Sunset in your arms.
  2. >You smile and gently kiss her head.
  3. "Good morning, love."
  4. >You sigh and get up, hating yourself for not being able to tell her that last night.
  5. >Not much to do this morning.
  6. >You have no spare clothes, so you can't shower.
  7. >Everything you had was probably burnt to a crisp.
  8. >You hear Sunset shift positions behind you.
  9. >She's still asleep.
  10. >You decide to head to the lobby for something hot.
  11. >This particular motel has free hot chocolate for about an hour in the mornings.
  12. >You open the door and step outside into the cold.
  13. >You only have a pair of jeans and a white tank top on.
  14. >You hate fires.
  15. >You walk to the lobby, stepping carefully on the cold pavement so your feet don't get punctured by a rock or something.
  16. >Stepping inside, you walk over to the counter and pour two cups of hot chocolate for you and your lovely Sunset Shimmer.
  17. >In and out, two minutes.
  18. >You walk back to your room and step inside.
  19. >Sunset is awake now, but she's still laying in bed.
  20. >Poor girl, she looks so sad.
  21. >You should've said you loved her last night, she probably really needed to hear that.
  22. "Hey, Sunny."
  23. >She looks up at you and gives a weak smile.
  24. >"Hey, Nonny."
  25. >You smile at her and set her cup down next to her.
  26. "Got you some hot chocolate."
  27. >She glances at it and sadly looks down again.
  28. >"Thanks."
  29. >Your smile fades and you sigh.
  30. >You sit down next to her, setting your cup next to hers, and rub her hair.
  31. >There's nothing that can really be said right now.
  32. >You're both homeless now, and you're too much of a wimp to tell her how much you love her.
  33. >You're just as sad as her, if not more so.
  34. >You both stay there in silence for a couple of minutes.
  35. >Neither of you does anything.
  36. >Finally she sits up and stretches.
  37. >She takes a sip of her hot chocolate and sets it down.
  38. >"I'm gonna go to the bathroom."
  39. >She walks in and shuts the door, leaving you alone.
  40. "Love you..."
  41. >...
  42. >After she comes back out, you figure it's time to get moving and start doing what you're supposed to do today.
  43. >You've got a plane to catch.
  44. >Once you both finish with your personal matters, you head outside and head across the street to the Walmart.
  45. >Sunset covers herself in the blanket she got last night and shivers violently the whole way.
  46. >The cold is coming early this year.
  47. >Poor thing.
  48. >You both walk inside and immediately head to the clothing department.
  49. >You walk past some heavy winter coats and pick a black one out for yourself.
  50. "You're going to need a coat. We're heading up north."
  51. >"What's up north?
  52. "In the middle of November? There's snow and ice up north. Lots of it."
  53. >"Oh."
  54. >She didn't sound too enthusiastic about it.
  55. >She picks a big green ski coat.
  56. >You both head out to the rest of the clothes and pick out a few shirts, pants, underwear, and shoes you both like.
  57. >You also pick up a backpack to put all your stuff in.
  58. >You both make your way to the toiletries section and grab toothbrushes.
  59. >As you both head toward the checkout, you pass the pink isle.
  60. >You see a bunch of fat guys in hats are crowded around the "Pretty, Pretty Pegasus" section and it looks like they're fighting over a stuffed horse.
  61. >What a bunch of manchildren.
  62. >You make your purchases then head into the store bathrooms to change and brush your teeth.
  63. >After a few minutes, you come back out in a regular black t shirt, new jeans, and shoes.
  64. >Everything you had before was now packed in your bag.
  65. >Sunset hadn't come out yet, so you call the taxi company and tell them where to pick you up.
  66. >Once you hang up, Sunset comes walking out.
  67. >You smile at her.
  68. "You look good."
  69. >She gives a little giggle and smiles at you.
  70. >"Thanks."
  71. >She's wearing a dark pink hoodie and with some new jeans, and violet shoes.
  72. >She looks adorable.
  73. >You take her stuff and put it in your bag, then you both head outside, your fingers locked between each others.
  74.
  75. ---
  76.
  77. >You are now Sunset Shimmer.
  78. >Your heart is threatening to burst from your chest.
  79. >You are terrified thanks to multiple contributing factors.
  80. >After a hectic taxi ride through traffic, and an hour of waiting in line to get through security at the airport, you finally make it aboard the plane.
  81. >You're also sitting in a first-class airplane seat next to Anon, so not only do you feel extremely out of place by being in first-class, but you're also sitting inside an airplane.
  82. >You've never flown before.
  83. >At all.
  84. >Not even when you were in Equestria.
  85. >If you needed to get somewhere fast, you either magic'd your way around, or you rode the train.
  86. >You didn't need to fly around, that was pegasi bullshit.
  87. >You grip latch onto the armrests with an iron grip, turning your knuckles white.
  88. >Anon is reading a magazine next to you.
  89. >He joked around about it earlier.
  90. >Apparently, this "Sky Mall" magazine sold some of the most expensive, and at the same time, useless things ever thought up.
  91. >But they were still cool to look at.
  92. >Regardless, you can't imagine how he could read at a time like this.
  93. >Looking to the seat behind you, you see some old fart sleeping.
  94. >Sleeping!
  95. >He's about to fly thousands of feet in the air and travel hundreds of miles per hour, and he's sleeping!
  96. >You face forward again and take another deep breath.
  97. "Anon?"
  98. >"Hmmm?"
  99. "These things are safe, right?"
  100. >"What, airplanes?"
  101. "Y- Yeah."
  102. >"Well sure they are. Statistically, it's the safest way to travel."
  103. >You gulp and take another deep breath.
  104. >Anon sets his hand on top of yours and rubs it gently.
  105. >"Hey. We're going to be fine. Don't worry, okay?"
  106. >You look at him and he smiles at you.
  107. >You smile back and hold his hand.
  108. >He's right, you need to calm down.
  109. >If he says you're going to be okay, then you're going to be okay.
  110. >The engine revs and the plane jolts.
  111. "GHAAAAAA FUCK!!"
  112. >You breathe in and out hard and grip your armrest again.
  113. >You take a quick look out the window and see you're slowly moving backwards.
  114. >Anon is staring at you, shocked.
  115. >You turn around and see that every other passenger is looking at you the same way.
  116. >Anon gives a nervous chuckle behind you.
  117. >"Sorry, everyone! It's her first time flying, and she's a little nervous."
  118. >Everyone slowly returns to their own business and you face forward again, embarrassed and scared.
  119. >"Sunset."
  120. >You take another gulp but don't face Anon.
  121. >"Sunset- Ow! Ease up a bit."
  122. >You look back at him.
  123. >He's wincing in pain.
  124. >You look down at your hands and realize you're holding his in an iron grip.
  125. >Oops.
  126. >You let it go.
  127. "S- Sorry! Sorry, Anon!"
  128. >He rubs his hand and nods.
  129. >"Its okay, it's fine. Look, you really need to calm down."
  130. >You take another breath and shut your eyes tight.
  131. "I know, I know, it's just..."
  132. >You breathe out and laugh.
  133. "It's just new and scary, you know? People aren't supposed to fly."
  134. >Anon chuckles and wraps his arm around you.
  135. >"Yeah, I know it's scary... Tell you what, once we get in the air, we can trade seats and you can look out the window."
  136. >You aren't sure about that.
  137. >You don't want to see how far up you will be, it would just terrify you more.
  138. >"Don't worry, Earth looks awesome from that high up. Kind of like a mini toy set. It's almost unreal."
  139. >You think about it for a moment.
  140. "Well, I'll think about it and let you know."
  141. >He shrugs.
  142. >"Alright."
  143. >As you continue down the runway, the flight attendant stands at the front of the isle and makes all sorts of gestures and explains the safety features.
  144. >You pay attention to every word she says.
  145. >You want to be sure you won't die if the plane crashes.
  146. >Finally, the pilot comes on, introduces herself as "Captain Spitfire" and says something garbled you can't understand.
  147. >You feel the plane come to a stop, and you tense up.
  148. >Anon holds your hand and bounces in his seat a little.
  149. >"Oooh, this is the best part! Here we go, Sunset!"
  150. >You gulp and take a few deep breaths.
  151. "Okay... Okay, okay, okay, okay..."
  152. >http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WS1EJiUM91s
  153. >You feel the seat vibrate as the engines roar to life.
  154. >You grab Anon's hand and hold it tight.
  155. >You take a quick glance out the window and see the world whoosh by.
  156. "Anon?"
  157. >He doesn't respond, he just gets a big smile on his face and starts laughing.
  158. "Anon, this isn't funny!"
  159. >He sinks back in his seats and laughs louder.
  160. >You feel yourself sink back in the seat and your stomach start to move around inside you.
  161. >You shut your eyes as the shaking intensifies and the engines get louder.
  162. >You're trying so hard not to scream.
  163. >Suddenly, you feel yourself lean backwards.
  164. >Not just your back, your entire body; the seat you're in, everything.
  165. >"Alright, we're airborne!"
  166. "What?!"
  167. >You open your eyes and look around.
  168. >It wasn't just you that leaned back, the entire plane leaned back.
  169. >You look out the window and see as the streets, cars, buildings and people get smaller and further away.
  170. >It's... Exhilarating.
  171. "Woah..."
  172. >You lean across Anon's lap and stare out the window.
  173. >You just watch as you get higher and higher in the air.
  174. >You can see everything from up here!
  175. "This is..."
  176. >You chuckle and a huge smile spreads across your face.
  177. "This is awesome!! Haha! We're flying!"
  178. >You just keep laughing like a little kid as you look around at everything.
  179. >You can see for miles!
  180. >You try counting all the houses you can see, but too many keep coming into view and they get too small.
  181. >Suddenly, the plane turns and you can see the ground directly below you.
  182. >It stays on its side for a few seconds before leveling out again.
  183. >You just keep staring outside at everything.
  184. >"See? Told you it wasn't so bad!"
  185. >You laugh and look back at Anon with a huge smile on your face.
  186. "Yeah, you were right! This is so cool!"
  187. >He laughs and you turn back to look outside, taking in the view.
  188.
  189. ---
  190.
  191. >You are Anon again.
  192. >Three hours, one bag of peanuts, and an in-flight meal later, you're sitting in your seat and Sunset is asleep on your shoulder.
  193. >After staring out the window for about 45 minutes, you got above the clouds and there wasn't anything else to see, so she got bored.
  194. >By then, it was time for the meal anyway.
  195. >After eating and chatting for a bit, she decided to take a nap.
  196. >The stewardess brought you a blanket and Sunset threw it over you both.
  197. >Which leads to where you are now.
  198. >She's softly snoring in your ear and holding you like a teddy bear.
  199. >All you can do is just smile at her.
  200. >She's so beautiful.
  201. >You lean back and try to get some sleep too.
  202. >Heaven knows you need one.
  203. >Other than Sunset being here with you, these past few days have pretty much sucked.
  204. >But at least you have a plan.
  205. >You told your work of your situation last night, and they reluctantly agreed to let you go for a little bit.
  206. >You're going to go home, just settle down there for a bit, maybe look for a new place around here, you might just start your life over again.
  207. >Wouldn't be so bad.
  208. >You'd be closer to your old friends Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Twilight.
  209. >A bunch of good girls, they were.
  210. >The intercom comes on and interrupts your train of thought.
  211. >You were beginning your descent.
  212. >You take a look outside and see the clouds gradually get closer.
  213. >It was also getting dark.
  214. >You look under the blanket and make sure Sunset still has her seatbelt on.
  215. >You gently nudge her shoulder.
  216. "Sunset. Sunset, hey."
  217. >She groans a little and looks up at you.
  218. "We're starting out descent. You need to be awake."
  219. >She groans a little again and closes her eyes.
  220. >"Mmmhh... Okay..."
  221. >She slowly wakes up and yawns.
  222. >She looks out the window again at the view.
  223. >A few minutes and a little turbulence passes by when you get below the clouds.
  224. >If it weren't for the lights in the buildings, you wouldn't be able to see anything due to the snow and fog.
  225. >You both stare out the window until you reach the runway.
  226. >Sunset had a lot more fun during this part.
  227. >You slow down and head to the terminal.
  228. >The captain tells you all that the temperature outside is a balmy -6 degrees fahrenheit.
  229. >As soon as the seatbelt sign goes off, you quickly grab your bag and take out your and Sunset's new coats.
  230. >You both put them on and get ready to get off.
  231. >The door opens and a gust of icy wind hits you both.
  232. >You both shiver and fold your arms.
  233. "Ah, home sweet home."
  234. >"Jeez Anon, how did you survive up here?!"
  235. >You both laugh and you wrap your arm around her.
  236. "Don't worry, Sunny. You'll get used to it."
  237. >You step into the warm terminal and head toward the exit.
  238. "Now, we should have a ride waiting for us."
  239. >"Like a limo?"
  240. "Maybe."
  241. >"Hmm. Never rode in a limo before."
  242. "Well, theres a first time for everything."
  243. >You head toward the escalators and head down to the lower level.
  244. >You see lots of drivers holding signs out in the cold.
  245. >You're looking around for the sign that says "Ymous", when...
  246. >"Well, well! If it isn't Anonymous!"
  247. >You stop dead in your tracks as that voice hits your ears.
  248. "Oh hell no..."
  249. >Not now, not her.
  250. >Anyone, just please not her.
  251. >Sunset looks behind you.
  252. >You slowly turn around to scowl at the supermodel trophy woman you once called your girlfriend standing behind you, with a shit-eating grin spread across her Botoxed face, looking just as expensive as ever.
  253. >This is the girl you now hate more than anyone or anything else in this world.
  254. β€œHello, Fleur…”
