I dream of beauty.

I was nothing; a whim of the world not yet given form. And then a light fell upon me, and there I was. In front of my were two young humans; one cowering, one with a sword. I knew only one thing: attack the boy with the sword.

But the world twitched, and there were three: a girl and a sprite. The boy swung his sword, and I returned to darkness.

But then light fell again. I stood upon the surface of the world, and chaos reigned.

Strange blocks burst from man and beast alike, all was destruction and disaster and fear. Explosions of impossible color appeared from nothing. But I did not fear. This was not my task.

I only barely heard the sliding sound behind me and caught a glimpse of a silvery oval before the colors burst in front of me.

I saw the world as it was meant to be. I saw the boy pull the sword from the spring. I gloried as the boy and his friends revived the Seeds, and seethed when the Empire razed the Tree. I saw the boy, a knight in truth, face the lich himself, and win. I saw magic fade from the world, and return but slowly.

In that one moment, I knew I had witnessed all of creation.

It was beautiful. When the portal closed, I grieved that I would never witness such glory again.

And then I awake.
