  3. >Cherry is quiet as she leads you toward the Merchant quarter
  4. >You can see it at some distance, as it seems to be the only place that is lit up, and it is lit up rather brilliantly
  5. >You and Cherry come upon a barricade, manned by, sure enough, griffins. Griffins in heavy armor and carrying long polearms.
  6. >"Halt!" one of them shouts out as you approach.
  7. >You both stop where you are.
  8. "Is this normal?"
  9. >"Yeah, they don't let most ponies in, and they check everyone for weapons."
  10. >Two of them come out to meet you
  11. >As they approach, their eyes widen slightly at the sight of you.
  12. >The guard on the right speaks.
  13. >"What the fuck are you supposed to be?"
  14. "This how you treat all traveling dignitaries?"
  15. >you ask, feigning insult.
  16. >"Sorry about any insult, sir," the guard on the left interjected, "we've just never seen anything like you before."
  17. "Don't worry about it. I am Lord Anonymous, representative of the United States of America. I am here to trade, and I have heard that this is the best place to do so in the area."
  18. >"You've got that right," the guard on the left sighed.

  20. >He looked down to see Cherry hiding behind your leg.
  21. >"Oh, it's Cherry."
  22. "You know each other?"
  23. >you ask the griffin.
  24. >"Yeah, she comes around here every so often. Seems to be one of the few ponies left around here with brains and money. She's free to go on in. We'll have to scan you for weapons and magical artifacts since you are clothed."
  25. "That's fine. I am unarmed."
  26. >They both set their polearms and activate some sort of mechanism on the handles before a sheet of green light appears between them.
  27. >"Just walk through it. The light will turn red if it detects anything that can be used as a weapon. We will keep any such item for you under lock and key, and you may retrieve it when you leave the quarter."
  28. >You nod curtly, then step forward through the magical light. A strange feeling, like walking through a mist that dispels as you try to touch it, or perhaps like walking through water only to come out dry on the other side.
  29. >You turn back to see the two guards gawking at a you-shaped hole in the light that is slowly starting to fill back in.
  30. >"Well that's never happened before."
  31. "That's not supposed to happen, I presume?"
  32. >He looks at you, annoyed, then deactivates the device, leveling the spear at you.
  33. >"No, it isn't."
  34. >"Glenn, go get the captain and another set of scanners."
  35.  
  36. >The other guard jogs back behind the barricade, while you stare somewhat cross-eyed at the razor sharp tip of the polearm a few inches in front of your face.
  37. >This is not what you expected to happen.
  38. >You look away from the tip of the spear to the eyes of the guard holding it. You notice that he is shaking slightly. The look in his eyes wasn't annoyance, but rather something more along the lines of worry and fear, hidden behind a facade of annoyance.
  39. >The giant eagle/lion combination was afraid of you.
  40. >Interesting.
  41. >Momentarily, the other guard returned with another set of polearm scanners, behind him, a smaller female griffin, apparently their captain, walked hurriedly out, a look of horror spreading across her face when she saw the guard holding his weapon inches from your face.
  42. >"Private, explain what is going on here." she demands, firmly, but calmly.
  43. >"Sir! This creature has some sort of magical artifact that defeated the scanner, sir!"
  44. >She facepalms. Or faceclaws? Facetalons?
  45. "Private, stand down and put that weapon on the deck. I don't need this shit today."
  46. >He steps back and puts the spear down, looking a bit sheepish.
  47. >She turns towards you.
  48. >"Ah, you must be the "hugh man" I heard about this morning."
  49. >She smirked at you.
  50. >What is going on here?
  51. "I see my reputation precedes me."
  52. >"It sure as fuck does. HA HA! Fucked both of the princesses in their own dining room! I'd have given anything to see that!"
  53. >She turns to the two guards.
  54. >"Privates, you are dismissed. The only weapon we need to worry about on this one is the one between his legs."

  56. >She turned back towards you, smiling.
  57. >"So, Lord Anonymous, was it? I should introduce myself. I am Captain Godiva Wartalon. I'm in charge of our little enclave here. Would you care for a tour?"
  58. "That would be wonderful. I appreciate your hospitality."
  59. >"HA HA! Anything for you!" she laughed, leading you through a gap that appeared in the barricade.
  60. >This one was much better built than the ones guarding the "palace", all metal, and purpose made with spikes and retractable gates.
  61. >Once inside, you saw that there were several griffons with crossbows and what looked like a siege crossbow.
  62. >Noticing your confusion, Godiva spoke up.
  63. >"With the ponies being down and out militarily, sometimes we get monsters that come into town. They are especially attracted to the light from this area, so we've got some heavy artillery stationed here and there, just in case."
  64. >You nod your head approvingly.
  65. "Very prudent. You see Cherry, this is how a good leader acts."
  66. >Godiva looks down to see Cherry sort of hiding behind your legs.
  67. >"Didn't realize you had a little pony follower. She your slave or something? Pretty much all they're good for these days."
  68. >Cherry looked down. You couldn't see her face to read it. She certainly seems intimidated by the fearsome looking creature.
  69. "That is yet to be seen, but for now, let us say that she is my friend".
  70. >She looks up at you, confused, maybe a little offended that you didn't introduce her as your "fillyfriend".
  71. >"Whatever, you keep weird company, but I still like you."
  72. >You are now passing a fairly large fortified structure with no apparent method of entry.
  73. >"This is our headquarters. You can't get in from the ground. Visitors have to be carried in by a griffon if they can't fly themselves."
  74. "Very intelligent. Is that a common theme in griffon fortifications?"
  75. >"Yup, been that way ever since Gawt, the first griffon, was created from the vital clay by mountain god Grom."

  78. >She sees your confusion.
  79. >"That's our creation myth. I don't believe it for a second, but that's what we learn in school."
  80. "Interesting. I'll have to have you tell me more about it some time."
  81. >She gives you a sly smirk, eyes half lidded.
  82. >"Any time."
  83. >She's coming on to you, but she's being pretty subtle about it.
  84. >There will be a time and a place for that later, however. You need to get some local currency, and soon.
  85. >You have obligations to fulfill, and you might not have enough time to fulfill them without looking like a fool.
  86. "Tell me, Godiva, is there anyone around here who sells magical items?"
  87. >"Of course, there're dozens of shops with all kinds of things for sale, and there's the market, and then there's the "other" market. What are you looking for?"
  88. "I need some form of charm that will bind or drain the wearer's magic, specifically if they should fail to obey an order."
  89. >"For a unicorn?"
  90. "Or an alicorn."
  91. >"HA! What, are you plotting to enslave the princesses or something?"
  92. >You look her straight in the eyes without showing any emotion.
  93. "Yes."
  94. >Her jaw drops, and she stops dead in her tracks. It takes her a moment to recover from that.
  95. >"Just how the fuck do you plan on doing that?"
  96. "I'm going to pay to have their alicorn magic returned, with some conditions. I need a way to enforce the contract."
  97. >"No fucking way. No fucking way you have that kind of money. Unless…"
  98. "Hmm?"
  99. >"You must have the backing of a large organization or a major government. So what's your game? You want to use the sun and the moon as weapons, like the fucking Minotaurs?"
  100. >That explains a lot. The sun and moon haven't just been moving at random, they are moving with a purpose.
  101. "Nothing like that, I assure you. The truth is, I just wanted to have a couple of royal sex slaves. When I make my purchase, the sun and moon will return to their regular schedules."

  103. >"Well, it doesn't matter to me either way. The use of the sun and moon to create favorable tides or inundate cities works along the coast, but it does exactly jack shit against the mountainous griffin kingdoms or inland areas like this."
  104. "Indeed, but for now, I need to exchange a copper coin for bits. Where can I do that?"
  105. >"Gawt, a fucking copper? I doubt you could do that anywhere in Equestria. There aren't any Minotaur money changers here."
  106. >She thinks for a second.
  107. >"Well, there may be one way.."
  108. "And that would be..?"
  109. >"Well, the largest market here is the slave market, run by the moose, Gigas Ponegeld. You could probably trade your coin for his entire inventory plus all his cash. Hell, just buy out the whole operation. You'd probably come out on the worse side of the deal, but that's about the closest you could get to a fair trade."
  110. "How many ponies are we talking about here?"
  111. >"Normal day, I think he has about 2-300 on hand, but it's a pretty high turnover. Wouldn't be a bad source of bits on an ongoing basis, to tell the truth."
  112. >You hadn't really planned on going into business. Maybe you could just invest and let this Ponegeld person.
  113. >"You'd best be careful with him though. He's a fucking giant, and can be EXTREMELY violent if you make him mad. Even we tread lightly around him. But he pays his taxes. Without him, this quarter would be a quarter the size it is."
  114. >Funny. Sort of. She seems proud of the pun. You allow her a small smirk.
  115. >"But seriously, don't piss him off. Moose have been known to kill Ursa Minors with just swords, spears, and axes, and he's particularly large."
  116. "I see, thank you for the warning. Let's go see him."
  117. >She leads on, pointing out various landmarks as you go.
  118. >The sun is starting to rise again.
  119.  
  120. >You pass the end of a row of shops and come to what must have once been a park, which was now dominated by a massive tent, at least five stories tall.
  121. >You see a line of ponies standing around in the front. As you near the tent entrance you see a cart TAKE OFF INTO THE AIR AND FLY OFF. It's being pulled by two griffons. The back is a cage, in which you can see several ponies. A foal looks at you with a sad look in her eyes. Within moments, they pass out of view.
  122. >As you near the front of the tent, Godiva stops you.
  123. >"This is as far as I go. We have an agreement in place, and our officials aren't allowed in unless summoned. One last piece of advice. If he does get angry and charge you, just run away. He won't chase you outside of the tent."
  124. "I see, thank you for the advice. Hopefully I won't need it."
  125. >"Good luck."
  126. >You turn to enter the tent, with Cherry following behind you.
  127. "You ever been in here before Cherry?"
  128. >"Yeah, a couple of times. That moose is HUUUUGE."
  129. >She makes a "this big" motion with her hooves.
  130. >So cute.
  131. >You enter the tent to find yourself in a sort of reception area, with a large sign pointing buyers of slaves to the left, and sellers to the right. The line of ponies extends into the the door at the right. Mostly empty looking adults and a few crying foals.
  132. >You and Cherry go through the passage to the left.
  133. >"Hello, can I help you?" said the huge bitch sitting behind a desk.
  134. >No really, a literal bitch, as in female dog.
  135. >And from her seated height, she's probably about as tall as you are.
  136. "My name is Lord Anonymous. I'd like to speak with Mr. Ponegeld."
  137. >"Do you have an appointment?"
  138. "I don't, but I do have a great deal of money, and I am interested in purchasing this establishment."
  139. >"Oh I see. Let me see if he's busy."
  140. >She rises from the chair, and goes through a tent flap next to her desk. She isn't as tall as you thought. Must be a mutant corgy.
  141. >A few moments later, she returned.
  142.  
  143. >"Mr. Ponegeld will see you now." She flashed you a bright smile. Too bad she's butt ugly.
  144. >You and Cherry go through the same flap the nice bitch had just come out of to find yourselves in a vast chamber, which extended up to the top of the tent, perhaps 70 feet above your head.
  145. >To the left, you can see what you presume is the front of the line, where a number of diamond dogs, griffons, and a gigantic god damn moose are examining ponies, doing paperwork, and paying out money to those who are selling family members.
  146. >You walk confidently toward the creature.
  147. >He is holding an unprotesting earth pony upside down in one hoof, looking closely at him.
  148. >"This one will be good for minings. Sends her with others to Minos for rehabilitations. Mark final destinations as for crystal mines in north."
  149. >He turns to you and looks you up and down.
  150. >"Lady tells me you are wantings to buy my business, yes?"
  151. "Straight to the point. I like that. Yes, I do."
  152. >He turns back to his crew
  153. >"Yous guys takes breaks. Tell Grimm next shipment leave thirty minutes late."
  154. >He turns back toward you and Cherry.
  155. >"Comes with me into my office."
  156. >He turns back to facing forward and slowly, ponderously shifts his weight and stands.
  157. >You don't even come up to his shoulder.
  158. >He must weight ten times as much as you, and it's all muscle and horns.
  159. >You imagine how Cherry must feel around this beast.
  160. >Gigas slowly makes his way toward a large permanent structure on the other side of the main floor.
  161. >He opens the 12 foot tall, 8 foot wide door and motions you through.
  162. >Inside is a lavishly appointed hall, with rich decorations lining the walls, and a great tablerunning down the center.
  163. >He closes the door behind him and started ambling for the far side of the room, toward the fireplace, which had a roaring fire going.

  165. >"WENCH! BRINGS MEAD!" he yelled suddenly, with such a violent force that you flinched, and Cherry dove under the table.
  166. >Luckily, he didn't seem to notice.
  167. >As you reached the far side of the hall, you notice an enormous translucent rug with a star pattern
  168. >Jesus Christ is that some kind of giant bear?
  169. >The head is still attached, looks to be about 6 feet tall. You can't imagine how large the thing must have been in life.
  170. >There is a massive chair on the rug, which Gigas sits on, amazingly growing even taller when he sits upright
  171. >There are also smaller chairs appropriately sized for you or male griffons. You select one and sit down as a winged pony enters pulling a cart with a (very) large flagon and two smaller smaller ones. Cherry takes a seat at your feet, too small to easily get into one of the tall chairs.
  172. >Gigas takes the large flagon, perhaps three gallons worth, and downs it in a shot, and sets it back in the cart.
  173. >The pony rolls the cart over to you. You notice that she has a tattoo on her flank, a bee buzzing around and a glass of beer. Or maybe it's mead? Is this the "cutie mark" that Winter had told you about? Her wings are also bound at the base with a black leather strap.
  174. >You take the flagon in your hand. It's pretty big. You take an experimental sip.
  175. "It's sweet…"
  176. >you say, almost to yourself. It's also strong enough to knock you on your ass pretty damn quick.
  177. >"Yes, it's fermented honey. I make it myself."
  178. "You're not…"
  179. >"Stupid? No, the master bought my magic back, and smuggled it here for me, at great expense. Serving him as a slave is the least I can do in return. He truly is a great person. You should treat him with respect."
  180. >"Enough of yours blathers, wench. Fetch more mead, and some foods for me and my guests."
  181. >"Yes, master."
  182. >She bows and leaves with the cart.
  183.  
  184. >"You knows, I was planning on killings both of yous when I heard you had come to try to takes my business," the beast said.
  185. "Really."
  186. >you said, your tone sheer ice, hiding the terror you felt. He could easily kill you with just a kick or a stomp.
  187. >"Yes, buts when I sees you, I sees somethings very interestings. Tells me, does you knows about moose magics? Wes are very rare this far south. Most here don't know about us."
  188. "I can't say that I do. I didn't even know that you had magic."
  189. >"Of course. All creatures with horns haves magics. Magics powers depends on size and density of horns. Takes mines for examples."
  190. >A mighty glow erupts from his antlers, nearly as bright as the sun. Your eyes slam shut against the brightness as you feel yourself being lifted from your chair.
  191. >"Thinks you that you are immunes to magics? Nos, yours enchantments only separates you forms this world by a great distance, like Ursa. I needs only follows you backs to your real self to strikes you."
  192. >He sets you down, and the blinding light disappears. You note that a bead of sweat dribbling down from his brow. He actually seems a bit worried.
  193. >"Yous are the first ones I have seen with such enchantments other than an Ursa, and I can sees it is much more powerful than theirs. Tells me, where did you comes across it? Or is it natural to your kinds?"
  194. "To tell you the truth, I have no idea what you're talking about. I only learned perhaps thirty minutes ago that there might be some strange interaction between magic and my body. I only arrived in this world this morning."
  195. >"You are not from this world? That would explains that, I suppose."
  196. >He goes quiet, contemplative, leaning back in his chair, flexing his forehooves against one another. In the meantime, the pony slave returns again, this time hauling a wide assortment of foods, some of which it looks like you can actually eat.

  198. >Without moving or looking, a slight glow appears around Gigas' antlers and a small table materializes beside you, and a larger one beside him, and most of the food from the cart floats up onto it and arranges itself.
  199. >The pony rolls her cart over to you.
  200. >"I didn't know what you eat, so I brought a little bit of everything we had."
  201. "Thank you. That is lovely. I'll take the nuts and berries. You can take everything else back."
  202. >As she sets a place for you, you can't help but notice how attractive she is. She has a light orange coat with a long blond mane which is styled attractively. You also notice her tail has been tied up with black leather straps matching those binding her wings such that her plot is always visible.

  204. >You wonder to yourself if he uses her the way you have been using the ponies.
  205. >You look over to him, and in his reclined position, you can see the sheath of his cock.

  208. >"Yous haves no magics of your own," he stated bluntly.

Yous don'ts haves the structures or cirulations systems to to channels magics, evens though those longs fleshys claws you haves would be perfects for short range channellings, betweens the levels of an earth pony and a pegasus. Yous would haves to be from another world to haves a body like that but no magics."

  219. >You pull out a penny from your pocket and snap it down onto the table.
  220. >That got his attention.
  221. "Let's get down to business, shall we? You said you didn't want me to take away your business. That is absolutely the last thing I want to do. I can see that your talents are vital to the success of this endeavor."
  222. "The fact is that I have need of cash flow, and a I have a great deal of capital."
  223. >You indicate the coin on the table.
  224. "With this, you should be set for life. But I am even more generous than that. I would keep you on, in the same role you occupy now. We simply split the profits, 90/10, and I will cover any capital costs going forward."
  225. >You give him a minute to absorb all that. Shortly after, he spoke up again.
  226. >"What is your game? You come here waving that kind of wealth around like its nothing. That would be enough for a business ten times the size of mines."

  228. "And it will be. I expect to expand significantly, and to improve the value of the slaves exponentially."
  229. >"And how are you going to does that? Smuggle magics? Worth it for personal servants, but not for sales, especially when value goes down outside of district, where ponies with magics still exists."
  230. "I propose that you begin hoarding slaves. Stop all outgoing shipments. Cancel any contracts you have. Once we reach capacity, and perhaps more, I will travel to Minos and negotiate the bulk purchase of all remaining pony magic. Once that is returned, the value of the ponies we have contracted will increase exponentially."
  231. >He thinks for a moment.
  232. >"That is well and good, but if pony magics returns, princesses power will return. They won't stand for the enslavements of their ponies. Even I couldn't face booths of themes at once."
  233. "I am in the process of negotiating personal immunity to Equestrian law. I will have their answer by morning."
  234. >He goes quiet again, thinking. He absentmindedly levitates various leaves and berries off of his table and into his mouth. You take this as a cue, and start eating some of the food on your own plate. You are absolutely starving!
  235. >There are some cherries on one of the plates. You take a few of those and pass them down to Cherry, who gobbles them down quickly.

  237. >You will be a good master for her and her mother.
  238. >At least that is what you want her to think.
  239. >"Very wells."
  240. >Your attention returns to the moose.
  241. "So you are willing to sell?"
  242. >"Yes, I sees that you will takes on all the risk in this proposal. Ifs things go wrong, I will simply walk away with my new fortune, or buys it backs from you for nexts to nothings."
  243. >The coin on the table vanishes, and in it's place, a bill of sale and some other paperwork, already signed, and a quill pen with an inkwell.
  244. "I'm going to need access to the the all the cash you have as well."
  245. >Another flash, and a bag full of gold coins appeared next to you. It's pretty heavy. You will have to cart it out of here. No problem now that you have small change, and staff.
  246. >You smile, and sign the bill of sale, the deed, and the concession transfer, blow them dry, then carefully fold and pocket them.
  247. "I am looking forward to working with you Gigas."
  248. >"As ams I. You are either a savvy businessman, or a complete idiot. Times will tell. For now, let us celebrates! WENCH! Brings meads! The goods stuffs!"
  249. >His antlers flare again and a griffon is standing near his chair, looking somewhat surprised.
  250. >"W.what can I do for you, Master Ponegeld?"
  251. >"Tells Grimms to eats shit. Wes ain't selling no more ponies. I wants you to take over inspections of new ponies. Just accepts them all at minimum price. Yous can lets them talks you up 50 wood bits if its not a pony sellings. Also makes arrangements to buys enoughs feeds for the slaves for the nexts fews months, and gets an orders puts in for mores cages. Or betters, takes aparts our currents cages and combines them all into one big one."
  252. >"Y-yes sir!" he salutes, then vanishes in a flash of light.

  254. "Well, Gigas, I would love to stay, but I have business I really need to attend to."
  255. >You rise from your chair.
  256. >"Now holds on a minutes. You must stay and haves at least one drinks with me. It's tradition."
  257. "Well, one drink won't hurt."
  258. >The pretty orange pegasus returns with the cart, this time loaded with an extremely large barrel, along with some ornate flagons, covered with gold and sparkling with gems.
  259. >You reach down into the bag of bits and fish a few out, and hand them to Cherry.
  260. "Cherry, run out to the market and buy a cart. Also find Godiva and ask her if she can arrange an armed escort for us back to your house."
  261. >"Sure thing, Anon!"
  262. >She takes off running.
  263. >Then she lifts off the floor, surrounded by a gentle glow.
  264. >"Not so fast, little one."
  265. >"Yous have been generous with me, so I wills be generous with yous in return."
  266. >The bits disappear from her mouth and reappear on your table, and she floats over in front of Gigas' face.
  267. >"You know, I can sees the magics buildings up insides of you. Yous are abouts to gets your cutie mark."
  268. >The fear on her face vanishes, replaced with hopeful joy.
  269. >"Really?"
  270. >"Yes, little one. In fact, if you would care to helps me in a tasks I have been unables to do in the three years since I have arrived here, I can guarantees that you will leave this tent with your cutie mark, that is, if your "friend" doesn't mind. If we don't, it may be a longs times before you gets it on your own."
  271. >He turns her and his own face to look at me, with an exaggerated pout on his face.
  272. >Cherry is still smiling widely. "Can I Anon!?"

  283. >She quickly scrambled up onto the seat of his chair, where she immediately began playing with his sheath, which showed a quick reaction.

  286. >Cherry floats from where she was hovering further down the hall, back toward the scene on the great Ursa-skin rug.
  287. >You look on in horror as he floats her directly in front of his face
