- Doing Things for Your Waifu, Maud – Part 4
- >The day has gone by quite slowly.
- >You decided it’d be best to stay at home and relax.
- >Not how you expected to spend your Saturday.
- >A few ponies did come by and say hello, as they usually do.
- >While you were friendly and courteous, their presence frustrated you.
- >Out of all the ponies coming, the only one that you wanted to see didn’t show up.
- >C’est la vie.
- >Night falls.
- >Your energy depleted, you lay in bed reading a book Twilight lent you on beginner magic spells.
- >… though you aren’t a magical being, it is still quite interesting.
- >You turn the pages gently, absorbing all you can.
- >Your eyes slowly begin to shut, and you read less and less every second….
- >The cute drawings of fillies casting spells begin to blur….
- >You flip to a random page…
- >Symbols… arcane drawings….
- >You feel light-headed.
- >You shut your eyes, just for a second….
- >Only a moment…
- >And…
- >…
- ~
- >”Maud. I’ve got to tell you something.”
- “What is it, Flint?”
- >”I haven’t been… I haven’t been entirely honest to you.”
- “…”
- >”Eh… I’m sorry, babe. You just… you just don’t do everything I need you to.”
- “…”
- “What do you mean?”
- >”I mean you don’t satisfy me like I’d like you to.”
- “…”
- “I do a lot for you. I cook for you, I clean up after you, I-“
- >”You and I don’t have sex.”
- “…”
- >”Every night that I’ve gone out this week, I’ve been… I’ve been seeing someone else.”
- “…”
- >”I came home late every night… because I was with-“
- “Flint.”
- >”DON’T interrupt me, Maud.”
- “Flint, you… you…”
- >”I’m trying to tell you this stuff because I want us to work out.”
- “…”
- >”I want you to be able to make me happy.”
- “…”
- >”Don’t you want to make me happy?”
- “…”
- >”Answer me, Maud.”
- “…”
- >”Don’t just sit there! Look at me and answer me!”
- >Flint gets up and towers over you.
- >You simply stare at the ground.
- “Why would you do this to me?“
- >”To you!? I didn’t do ANYTHING to you! I did it all for ME.”
- “…”
- >”You don’t give me the kind of pleasure I want, Maud.”
- “I… I can not-“
- “What the fuck do you mean ‘you can not’?”
- “…”
- >”Well?!?”
- “I-“
- >”ANSWER ME!”
- “…”
- >He kicks his chair across the room, causing it to hit a wall and shatter.
- >You flinch, pushing your own chair back.
- “I would like to leave now.”
- >”Leave? Excuse me? LEAVE!?”
- “…”
- >”You aren’t LEAVING anywhere!”
- “…”
- >You slowly get up from your chair, keeping your head down.
- >Flint grabs you by your mane and pulls you to him.
- >”You aren’t going anywhere! You are MINE. You will do as I SAY!”
- “…”
- >Now… I’ll ask this again.”
- “…”
- >”Are you going to make me happy or not?”
- “…”
- >”…”
- “…”
- >”…”
- “No.”
- >You are hit across your face with a mighty force.
- >”You dumb BITCH!”
- >Flint yells in anger and hits you once more.
- >You don’t yell in pain.
- >You dare not move.
- >You just shut your eyes and hold back the tears.
- >He beats you a few more times.
- >You feel the pain overtake your body.
- >You just want it to end.
- >Flint throws you on the ground, breathing heavily.
- >You don’t move.
- >”You’re going to make me happy.”
- “…”
- >”Whether you like it or not.”
- >You don’t know what to say.
- >You don’t know what to think or do.
- >But you love Flint.
- >He didn’t mean to do this….
- >He is just… stressed.
- >That has to be it.
- >He promised he would always take care of and protect you.
- >He did what he had to… to keep you safe.
- >You love him….
- >It will all work out….
- >…
- ~
- >You open your eyes and sit up quickly.
- >Your heart feels as if it would beat out of your chest.
- >You’re sweating profusely.
- >That, and your stomach hurts.
- >Really badly.
- >You run into your bathroom, and puke into the toilet.
- >After you release some bad demons, you flush the toilet.
- >You turn the shower on, and climb in.
- “F-fuck….”
- >The hot water soothing your body.
- >What the hell was that?
- >Was that a dream?
- >It couldn’t be.
- >It felt too… real.
- >Your body is shaking.
- >You just want to forget all of those bad thoughts.
- >You wash and rinse off your body as best you can, forgetting the evil thoughts that flow through your mind.
- >Your heart continues to pound like mad.
- >No matter what you do, you can’t seem to calm yourself down.
- >After what seems like ages, you exit your shower.
- >Hot and pruned, you dry yourself off.
- >You body was still a shaky mess.
- >You stand over your sink, feeling sickness return.
- “Fuck, man. Fuck!”
- >You look into the mirror.
- >You wipe the condensation off and look at your reflection.
- >The color in your face is gone.
- >Your eyes are incredibly bloodshot.
- >You shake your head.
- >You must be imagining things.
- >You stumble back into your bedroom and throw on some clothes.
- >Your head begins to pound, and your vision blurs.
- >You fall to the ground.
- >The book you read earlier lays open next to your head.
- >Though it looks different.
- >You can’t really tell.
- >The book appears blackened.
- >As if it had been lit on fire.
- >You reach for it.
- >The lightheadedness returns.
- >You run out of energy.
- >You close your eyes….
- >…
- >You black out.
- ~
- >”Is he alright, Twilight?”
- >”I… I don’t know. There was some powerfully dark magic in that book....”
- >”…”
- >”I’m not sure how he even got a hold of it….”
- >”…”
- >”…”
- >”Is what you are saying the truth?”
- >”About?”
- >”About Anonymous seeing my past?”
- >”Yes, Maud. The dark magic in this book links the minds of two whom are close, if only for a moment, before destroying one of them.”
- >”…”
- >”It’s amazing that he AND you are still with us.”
- >”…”
- >”I don’t know what he saw, but whatever it was….”
- >”…”
- >”It was bad enough to put him in this state.”
- >”…”
- >”Maud?”
- >”I know we are not the closest friends, Twilight. But please. Do whatever you can to save him.”
- >”I… I’ll try my best. I promise.”
- >”…”
- >”…”
- >”Thank you.”
- >Maud leans over you and kisses your cheek gently.
- >She whispers in your ear:
- >”I am so sorry, Anonymous.”
- >She sighs and heads for the exit.
- >”Maud! You just….”
- >”…”
- >”…”
- >”I need to leave now.”
- >”Maud, wait! Don’t leave!”
- >The door shuts.
- >All is quiet.
- >Twilight sighs and begins to draw a healing circle around you.
- >”She cares so much about you, Anon.”
- >”*Sigh*”
- >”But… why did she leave?”
- ~
- >You are Maud.
- >It is the middle of the night.
- >You would like to be by Anonymous.
- >It is for the best that you leave him alone.
- >You continue to walk towards Sugarcube Corner.
- >You decided that you were going to leave in the morning.
- >It was for the best.
- >You were to move to Vanhoover.
- >And begin working at the Institute up there, like you originally planned.
- >You were going to move on from this painful life.
- >And start fresh.
- >But it does not feel that easy.
- >You feel alone.
- >Why do you want Anonymous to be around you right now?
- >You stop walking for a bit.
- >You sigh.
- >You cannot be here and have Anonymous be hurt anymore.
- >You just need to leave.
- ~
- >You are Anonymous, and you are healthy once more.
- >Rather, you are healing.
- >”And getting better every minute! I’m so glad this healing spell worked on you!”
- >Twilight squees and bounces around you.
- >You smile at her.
- “W-w-w-… wh-where….”
- >You cough loudly.
- >Speaking hurts your throat.
- >Twilight stops bouncing around and soothes you.
- >”Take it easy, pal. You need to rest.”
- >You weakly nod and shut your eyes.
- >You aren’t even sure what quite happened.
- >”Let me bring you some water to drink, okay?”
- >You give her another smile as she trots away.
- >You try and move your fingers.
- >So far so good.
- >Now your hands.
- >Yup, yup.
- >Arms?
- >Close, but painful.
- >Eventually, you get them to move.
- >Twilight enters with a glass of cold water.
- >”Here, drink this.”
- >Using her magic, she moves the glass over to you, carefully pouring it into your mouth.
- >You drink quite a bit of it.
- >”There we go…. How do you feel now?”
- >You cough loudly and sit up.
- “Wow, I feel way better!”
- >You stretch your arms and your body.
- >Twilight trots happily to your side.
- >”Yes, this is a nice little potion I learned how to make when I had those CRAZY days of intensive studying. Works every time.”
- >You nod and crack your fingers.
- “No joke! That stuff is great.”
- >You slowly move to the edge of the bed.
- “What… what exactly happened?”
- >Twilight frowns and levitates the remains of what looks like a charred book.
- >”How did you get a hold of this?”
- >You look at the book.
- >It doesn’t look familiar.
- “I… I don’t know. I’ve never seen that before.”
- >Twilight moves it closer to you.
- >”Look at it closely, Anon! Are you sure?”
- >You squint and examine the book.
- >You sigh and shake your head.
- “I don’t remember reading it.”
- >”Are you POSITIVE?”
- >You inspect the book once more.
- >Suddenly, a slew of thoughts return to your mind.
- >Last night, reading, passing out, the dream…
- >It all comes back to you!
- >You feel yourself begin to sweat again.
- “That… that was the book you lent me! The one on beginner magic use.”
- >Twilight frowns and takes the book back.
- >”Are… are you sure?”
- >You nod solemnly.
- >”Wow… alright, Anon. If you’re positive….
- >”It appears that this book was hexed with dark magic.”
- “That’s… odd.”
- >”It is. For the time being, I think it will be better for you not to read these kinds of books.”
- >You nod.
- >”If not for you, but for the ones that are close to you as well.”
- >You stare blankly at her.
- “What… exactly does that mean?”
- >Twilight shakes her head.
- >”Well-“
- >A loud knock on your door interrupts Twilight.
- >You door slams open, with Pinkie running inside.
- >”Helllooooooooo?”
- >You wave to Pinkie, with a big smile on your face.
- >You expect Maud to be with her, but you find yourself disappointed when she isn’t.
- >”Hello, Pinkie.”
- “Hey, Pinks…. What’s up?”
- >”Deliverrryyy!!!”
- >Pinkie pulls out a small piece of paper and hands it to you.
- >”It’s for you, Anon!”
- “Oh, really? Say, where is Maud? Is she doing, okay?”
- >Pinkie laughs nervously.
- >”Well, that’s all I wanted! Twilight could you walk me out?”
- >She nervously bounces.
- >Twilight rolls her eyes and nods.
- >”Anon, take it easy, okay? Let me know if anything weird happens, please?”
- “S-sure…. See you guys.”
- >Pinkie and Twilight leave your home.
- >And once again, you are left alone.
- >Alone, except for this note.
- >You carefully open it.
- >Very square handwriting meets your eyes:
- Anonymous.
- I left for Vanhoover earlier this morning. I did not want to disturb you.
- I shall keep in touch with you and Pinkie throughout my time here. I hope everything is all right with you. I now realize that you would never hurt me. I thank you for putting up with me during my time in Ponyville. I hope that you never abandon me as a close friend.
- Take care of yourself.
- Maud Pie.
- >You turn the letter over.
- >A bit more is written on the bottom:
- I am truly sorry. I hope that you will forgive me, Anonymous.
- >You close the letter and throw it on your end table.
- >You feel like crying, but you understand where Maud is coming from.
- >This is what is best for the two of you.
- >You are happy that you will be able to keep in contact with Maud.
- >That is better than nothing.
- >You lie back in your bed and sigh.
- >You shut your eyes and breathe easy.
- >Maybe a nice change of scenery would be good for you….
- ~
- >You are Maud.
- >It has been seven months since you left Ponyville.
- >Your life is back under your control, and everything is wonderful.
- >Your job is going great.
- >You talk to Anon all the time.
- >You are a happy.
- >Happier than you’ve been in a long time.
- >You sit on your couch, writing your next letter to Anonymous.
- >You take your time writing this one.
- >It is very important to you.
- >It is the last one Anon will get before he comes to visit you.
- >You feel elated knowing that he is coming.
- >These months apart have brought the two of you closer.
- >And it is quite something.
- >As you write, you hear a knock on your door.
- >You do not get visitors often.
- >You gently place your pencil down and head to the door.
- “Coming.”
- >You trot over to your door, wondering who it could be.
- “Who is it?
- >No answer.
- >You slowly unlock your door, and pull it open.
- >The door is pushed open with a mighty force.
- >”Hey there, Maud….”
- >You step backwards slowly.
- >Your eyes fixated on your unwelcome guest.
- “…Fl-“
- >”Long time, no see, huh?”
- >Your guest laughs as he enters and shuts the door behind him.
- >You shake your head, moving backwards still.
- >And all you can think about is Anonymous.
- >You want him at your side.
- >You feel your life returns to darkness.
- >”Did you miss me, Maud?”
