- Delinquent angles usually flop big time. The reason is it framed the protagonist as a bad guy and the plot has to work the entire movie to paint an intricate, compelling web of experiences and emotions about why you as a viewer should see him or her as something extraordinary. Often, the reasons are scanty and what little is said leaves you more confused while you still try understanding why you should prefer the hero over the guy. Now, I could see this working for Shadow who has so much to build from but Sonic’s entire story arc in all his universes pivots on his good guy image. He is the cool guy who saves the day and he doesn’t hold back on principle to suit his own personal needs.
