Why make this? Pokémon is not the only monster collecting game out there, and with the outrage at Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, it's more important than ever to make people aware of this.

This is by no means a full masterlist, I'm not a 100% expert and have surely missed a few monster collecting games/Pokémon alternatives. The idea is to get people to share this and expand on it. Feel free to copy and alter this as you see fit.

Also, let's make "monster collecting" and "monster collection" an actual tag on Steam.
