- It was midday in the tech store Jason was confused. Usually, that came when whatever machine project had malfunctioned, or when somebody had managed to break something in a way he didn’t consider. Today was a bit different and had him staring at the object of his confusion for some time.
- “Brian?” He asked his employee.
- Brian didn’t look up from the watch he was fiddling with a screwdriver but hummed in acknowledgement.
- “Why's there a bird on your workbench?” He asked. The bird in question turned its head to and chirped as if greeting him. It was some form of a bird of prey, and it was quite large. Not the best description but he was never really that good with animals.
- “Oh, her? This is Shippu, she’s a zipangese messenger falcon.” He said as he stopped to pet the bird, which looked quite pleased with the attention.
- Jason rubbed his forehead “I was asking why it was here?”
- “So I can send messages to my girlfriend. Don’t worry about it making a mess, she told me these birds are trained to go outside.” Brian said as he got back to work like it was a normal answer.
- Jason’s questioning frown deepened. “Making a mess isn’t what I’m having a problem with. Why, in this day and age, do you’re girlfriend need a freaking falcon to deliver messages?” Brian had mentioned he had a girlfriend and he knew women would be quirky at the best of times. `Sends messages via bird` was pretty out there.
- Brian put down his screwdriver and sighed. “Okay, so you how I told she was I bit odd, right? Well... actually she’s actually a kunoichi from the roulette.”
- “Kunoichi? ... hang on, isn’t that more a title?” Jason questioned.
- “Their kunoichi are actually succubi due to some long-term integration thing or something like that. The Amazons are something like that too, according to her.” Brian shrugged. “Anyway, she can’t seem to get her head around some tech and that goes double for phones, so she decides to use her messenger falcon to deliver messages.”
- “So let me get this straight, you’re girlfriend is a demon ninja that can’t use a phone?” Brian asked as he chuckled. “Never thought I’d say something like that, regarding real life.”
- Brian laughed. “Even now, with all the time I’ve had with Homura it still feels surreal, doesn’t help with all the other monsters about.” he picked back up the screwdriver and started tinkering with the watch again. “Say... have you got the roulette yourself?”
- “I did, but with the workload and other stuff I just haven’t gotten round to it.” He shrugged, he had gotten both the books and read them, then he had gotten distracted and forgot about it. “I’ll use it now before the lunch break is over, see what happens. Say, do you know when she’ll turn up?”
- “It’s usually same day, although it does vary,” Brian said thinking and then frown. “Not so sure when exactly Homura turned up…” he muttered.
- “Hold up, what do you mean?” Jason questioned.
- Brian sighed and rubbed his nose. “Long story short, ninjas like to observe their targets before they strike and let’s leave it at that.”
- “…Fine” Jason made a note to get that story out of him later, but for now, he when into his email on his phone. He considered what Brian had said about his girlfriend being inept with tech, hopefully, whatever monster came to him wouldn’t have the same problem. With a shrug, he clicked the button.
- “That’s it?” Jason asked. “I was thinking there would be some bells and whistles or something.”
- “Yeah for all the excitement of the video, the actual roulette part’s kinda simple. So… what did you get?” Brian asked.
- “It says gremlin,” Jason said as he grinned. If he remembered right the book mentioned gremlins being tech heads that built machines and other things, it sounded perfect for him. “She’s going to show up at my house right?”
- Brian shrugged. “Possibly, I know a guy, who used it and the girl showed up at his work, almost got the police involved. I can’t say I blame them when you have what looks like a shark in a public pool.”
- “Yeah that does sound-” Jason was cut off was a dull busting sound, followed by a yelp coming from in the storeroom. Jason immediately ran to the storeroom and paused at what he saw. He assumed the radio currently smoking was what caused part of the noise, but the other part had him lost for words.
- There was a short woman struggling on the floor being held down by what mechanical hands connected to a sort of metal backpack. She was rolling around trying to get them off her when she noticed Jason staring at her in confusion.
- “Please… the red button on the back under a flap, press it!” she huffed out, getting to her knees as it looked the hands were starting to get frisky. Shaking his head to focus, Jason got round to her back and pushed the button. With a steam hiss, the robo-arms released her and fell limp. Shuffling the pack off herself as she got to her feet she gave Jason a grateful smile. “Thanks for that, I would have been there for a while without your help.”
- “It’s happened before?” Jason asked
- “Yeah, sometimes there’s this weird surge of lighting and it makes my inventions all haywire, like when I was using my tools to look at that thing.” She thumbed behind her to the busted radio. “I think I toasted it, sorry ‘bout that.”
- Jason picked it up and examined it. “Batteries fried but it’s nothing I can’t fix, no harm done.” He said as he put it back down. “So… Welcome to earth I guess? ‘Names Jason, what’s yours?”
- She let out a grim. “Who am I? I am Tessa, magitech mechanic and Inventor!” She stuck posed with her hands on her hips and Jason took her whole appearance in. The woman in front of him was defiantly a still short but curvier version of the gremlin like the profile had shown; only her hair was a darker green then the example and was in a long bob style. She was wearing a blue version of a mechanic’s jumpsuit with goggles on her forehead. Tessa then looked around the storeroom with interest. “So what is this place?”
- “It’s the storeroom to my shop, we sell gadgets and stuff, like that radio,” Jason explained. At the word `gadget`, Tessa’s eyes began to sparkle.
- “Gadgets? You mean you deal with this world’s technology?” Jason nodded and she began to shake with excitement. “Great! I’ve been hearing about what’s over here from the wizard, you’ve got to show me around!.” Before Jason can say anything, the gremlin grabbed him by the arm and pulled him out the room.
- ~X~ (4 hours later.)
- Jason let Brian run the store as he got to know Tessa better. The two spent the afternoon talking about machines and magitech. It turned out that the gremlin made a living by selling the things she made and maintaining other tech. It was not long after she appeared that some of Tessa’s projects were warped though to the shop (Not that much of an issue as the store was below Jason’s house). By the time the store had closed and Brian had gone home, they were still discussing mechanics while she was rummaging through her stuff.
- “There’s a whole bunch of things from the old civilisation that I would love to get my hands on. I’ve been able to get hold of a few things but I still don’t really know what some of them do. Once I find out, I could see if I can reverse engineer it.” She said as she
- “Sounds like a tough project,” Jason commented.
- Tessa laughed. “It is, but it’s also fun, plus I want to see just how many things I can make with my own skills, plus the old civ’ tech can be funny sometimes, I once found this thing that appeared to have the only purpose of getting hot on the inside. Talking to the blue sage, it turns out I had found an old magitech version of what he calls a `toaster`.
- Jason laughed. “Really? A toaster?”
- Tessa shrugged. “I traded a few notes with the wizard, there is a lot that the old civ made with magitech that’s apparently mundane over here. It’s part of why I wanted to check this world out; see what I could re-create with magitech and send back.
- Jason whistled, impressed at her work drive. “So, what have you made so far?”
- The gremlin’s ears twitched as she blushed and looked away. “Oh, um… it’s nothing special, really.” She chuckled nervously.
- “I can’t believe that. With all these boxes, there has to be something here, that’s really good.” He said, getting up and looking through one of the boxes, he lifted up a grey, cubelike box that had blue lines running along it. “Like this thing, what does it do?”
- Tessa looked up at the thing he was holding hand her eyes widened in panic. “Wait! That one unfinished! Put it down before it-“A clicking sound and the box started to beep. Making Tessa’s ears droop as she muttered with a resigned sigh “…Aw crap.”
- “What was the-“ Before he could finish his question, the box opened up and black cables launch out and tied around his arms and mouth. Jason started to panic as the box started to unfold itself into a more sinister looking machine.
- Tessa palmed her face. “This is gonna take a while, at least it'll go faster with me out of it.” She said pulling out a screwdriver and a wrench as she approached the machine to save Jason.
- ~X~ (2 months later)
- Jason had girlfriends in the past. He had never really gotten too far with them and had broken up for various reasons. The fact that monsters were known for whirlwind romances helped calmed his nerves about moving too fast. Though with Tessa, it was the first time he could call a relationship `kinky`.
- Just as the gremlin had ambitions to ambitions to improve the quality of life in her world, she had just as many projects for a more personal use. After the incident with the box, Jason found out that she could be quite aggressively curious, wanting to see what her machines could to improve the romance. Being a mechanic himself, he started working on projects with her, both to spend time with her and to find out more about magitech.
- Tessa’s (and eventually Jason’s as well) inventions were added to the tech store, bringing him business as one the first, magitech store in London. Jason did, however, keep the more intimate creations to himself as he was too embarrassed to sell them. Brian had laughed at him when he said that, but his only response where. “You’d be embarrassed too if you knew half of what her machines could do.”
- The only real downside was her `malfunction` power. Ture to the encyclopedia, whenever ever her negativity reached certain peaks, anything with magitech in it would go haywire leading to a couple of hours of chaos. Jason followed the book’s advice and kept to cheering her up with sweets, but he ended up having to limit that, as sometimes she went into `overdrive` and soon a mundane lamp was rebuilt into a multi-spectrum lightshow monstrosity that flew around the house and could carry drinks.
- While had never considered using machinery in the bedroom he wasn’t complaining. The sex was great, and there was something about knowing that something you built works no matter what the thing was. Though it did have its problems as he had to admit that one time the magna-cuffs was not something to retry, and then there was that incident with the dynamo… Still, no great inventor had a perfect record when it came to making stuff, and part of the fun was testing things, even if Tessa’s stuff was less `bedroom pleasure booster, and more `perverted diabolical trap`. The fact that she has full-blown mad scientist laugh didn’t help the matter, not that it was a bad thing, everything she did to him was all out of weird romance and if anything recently hearing that laugh triggered a response downstairs like it was kind of doing now…
- “What you thinking about?” The teasing voice of his monster girlfriend almost made him jump out of his skin. Jason’s brain was brought back to earth as Tessa giggled at him trying to collect his thoughts. He had spent the Sunday morning relaxing in the living room with his own thoughts as the store was closed.
- “Not much honestly.” He said trying to will his lingering arousal away. “’Been kind of a slow morning. What do you want to show me?” he asked as the gremlin was clearly bubbling with excitement, more than she ever had before as her ears were doing that twitching thing. He knew she was trying to keep something a surprise for the last week or so, so with her acting like this it must be done.
- “Come to the workshop and I’ll show you!” she said eagerly pulling him out of his chair and all but dragging him how to the workshop. Usually, the workshop was a cluttered mess as projects and broken scrapheaps were all over the place. Today, that had been loosely cleared up so that she had clearing big enough for a couple of cars.
- In the middle of this clearing was a mechanical lounge chair that if he didn’t know any better was ripped from a sci-fi movie. It was silver with gold and black high lights along with the glowing blue lines along the machine typical of magitech. It was also had what two canisters filled with an ominous purple liquid.
- “Tadaa!” Tessa shouted with jazz hands. “This is my masterpiece! The combination of magitech and alt world human electronics!”
- “It certainly looks impressive, what does it do?” He asked. With Tessa working on it for over a week, there were so many possibilities to what it could do it scared him a little.
- Tessa’s grin almost stretched of her face. “I thought you’d never ask,” she said before sprinting over to the chair, sitting down and pushing a button on the armrest. In an instant, the chair had shifted to some form of hover seat, with small purple jets keeping it afloat.
- Jason stared in amazement “Woah… a jet chair?” he said as she made the chair move around the clearing “What else could it do? He asked as the chair drifted right in front of him.
- Tess’s grin turned sinister “Oh, it can do all kinds of things, Jason. I just have to push this button here and…” the familiar sound of shifting metal came from the back and two robot it tentacles emerged both dripping with the same purple liquid in the canisters. Jason was sure that they were going to lunge forward and inject him with whatever it was before the chair made a dying sound and the tentacles go limp. The gremlin blinked and pushed the button again, then a few more times in frustration. “What in the- these were working fine yesterday? I was in a good mood so I didn’t break it… what could of-ah! The power!” hopping out of the chair, she ran over to the shelves and brought back jump cables. “This should do the trick, nice and quickly.”
- Jason realised what she was doing and almost panicked when he saw a flaw “Wait! Tessa those are the wrong-” Jason tried to warn her, but she had already got the back panel of the chair off and with her science laugh, shoved the cable clips in there. The glow along of the chair brighter and the tentacles came back to life.
- “Yeeeesss” Tessa gleefully cheered …until the blue glow turned red and the chair started to shake. “Huh?”
- The hover chair made all manner of sounds that Jason assumed was powering up something as Tessa started to back away in fear. The machine lurched as it shifted part of itself to produce two huge metal hands that grabbed Tessa by the arms and held her up.
- “Hey! Stop that! Let me go!” Tessa shouted as she kicked and scream as the chair rearranged itself into some form of bed. By the time it was done, she was strapped to the bed naked save for her goggles and held in an embarrassing position. The tentacles still waving about.
- Jason stared at the rear end of his naked girlfriend in shock and a tad bit of arousal as she still struggled to free herself, ‘till a thought occurred. “Tessa? Where you going to use this on me?” he asked slowly.
- “That doesn't matter right now, you need to help me shut this thing down before it- ah!” Tessa yelped as one of the tentacles inserted its needle into her arm, then let out a weird moan as it injected the purple stuff. That feels nice. She was then lost to the world as the machine to all kinds of groping and feeling her up along with what Jason assumed was the most erotic machine massage possible. By the time three minutes had passed Tessa’s breath was ragged, and her ass waving from before was now to entice Jason.
- “J- Jason… P-please, I want you! Please take me! I need more than the Machine!” She begged. Her pleas were enough to get Jason’s brain in gear. He ran forward to save his girlfriend from the machine bed. As soon as he got close one of the tentacles tried to get him but he managed to slap it away and held it down with one hand as he got the straps holding Tessa’s arms down free.
- Before he could get her legs free, Tessa grabbed him and deep kissed him. So caught off guard by the action he almost didn’t feel the needle enter his arm.
- ~X~ (hours later)
- Despite being a metal bed, Jason found whatever the `mattress` was made out of to be surprisingly comfy, he guessed it was just the joys of magitech
- Everything had finally wound down as both he and Tessa basked in the afterglow of their sex, simply lying awake on the bed while his gremlin girlfriend snuggled his chest. “Well…” that was a thing.” He chuckled. “I just gotta ask though, what is that purple stuff?”
- Tessa giggled. “A mix of thing things I got from a mage friend of mine it was part of mine. It worked a little too well I guess.” She said. “I really need to work out the kinks of thing if I’m going to upgrade it.”
- “Upgrade it?” Jason parroted.
- “Think about it, we could do so much more! If I mix it right we could make the jets work in bed mode, or maybe adding small plasma currents for stimulation, or maybe if I add to the number of haaannmm~” Tessa cut herself off as he stroked her head behind her ears, a sweet spot that he used to derail any thought she had.
- “That’s great and all, but why don’t we just relax for now?” Jason said as he had no strength left to do anything like that.
- Tessa, thought for a second before and then shrugged and got off the bed. “Sure, I’m hungry anyway. Oh! Maybe I can try out our new blender!” she said as she ran out the door to the workshop.
- Jason sighed, sometimes he just couldn't keep up with her.
