Turnabout Storm

Day 1

- Twilight knew Phoenix Wright's name before he introduced himself.
- Princess Celestia prepared the badge for Phoenix earlier.
- Twilight claimed that she couldn't enter the Detention Center because she lacked an attorney's badge, but she had one prepared all along (or could have prepared it in 20 minutes supposedly).
- Twilight has been trying to convince various lawyers to take the case, but they all refused when they learned that it involved murder. Could she have been summoning them from other worlds too?
- TS: She did not seem to know that the victim was Ace Swift until Phoenix mentioned it to her.

- Spike is not in the library.
- TS: Spike was with her all night.
- TS: has an extra bed for Phoenix.

- Rainbow Dash was not surprised that Phoenix Wright was a human. Neither were the detention center guards.
- Rainbow Dash did not appear to be familiar with Phoenix's name (neither was Fluttershy).

- RD: Ace Swift, killed (at Night 0) in a clearing in the Everfree Forest (15 mins from Fluttershy's house).
- RD: (Ace Swift) Hot shot racer expected to win Equestrian 500 (500 mile journey). TS: He won every race he ever competed in, to the extent that many thought he was cheating somehow.
- RD: "Everyone" thinks I did it (probably an exaggeration).
- RD and the guards both commented that Phoenix looks a little too old to be playing with toys.
- RD said she didn't kill anypony. No Magatama reaction.

Psyche Lock: What was RD doing in the Everfree Forest? She claimed she was practicing for the Equestrian 500.
- The Everfree Forest is filled with deadly creatures so ponies don't enter it.

- FS: Suits and ties intimidate her (relayed to Twilight)
- FS: She has seen one other phoenix in her life.

Crime Scene
- No blood found.
- Grass around the body is black; probably charred from a small fire.

Inventory
- Charred Grass around the body
- Metal Object severely burnt
- Left of crime scene: Imprint of something long. Seems like some pony was kicking dirt around it.
- Right of crime scene: Tree knocked out; the trunk seems burnt (similar to the charred grass)
- Brown feather on a tree that was behind the fallen one.

- Channeling is brought up


Theories:
- Celestia gave the badge to Twilight so that Twilight can give it to a defense attorney that she finds. She's been summoning defense attorneys over and over again and they all said no, except Phoenix. She likely summoned them by name (so she knew she summoned Phoenix Wright). So Twilight has access to some list of attorneys?
- Could RD and the detention center guards have been aware that TS was summoning human attorneys?
- WHERE THE HELL IS SPIKE??? Twilight claimed Spike was with her all night (previous night) but she has an extra bed for Phoenix tonight.
- At least one pony was uninformed or misinformed about the victim. RD said it was Ace Swift, Twilight didn't know who it was.

- nvm, Spike served breakfast to Phoenix on Day 2.
- RD did not know what "dozen" is, until Phoenix explained it to her in Day 2.
- Magatama flashed when TS picked it up.

- Day 0 = June 8th. Murder at around 2000 according to Trixie. Time 2030 to 2100 according to autopsy. Burn mark on back of neck.
- AS was electrocuted and killed instantly (according to autopsy).

- When a pegasus sets off a cloud, the first bolt will always strike directly under it.
- This particular cloud bore hoof marks of RD.
- After the first strike, the cloud fires randomly, but never in the same place twice. It struck three times in total.
- First strike (2040) was on the spot where Ace was found, second (2050) fired but the target is unknown and not found anywhere, third (2335) hit the tree.
- AS was wearing a lightningproof suit, standard issue for participants of Equestria 500. TS: It covers most of the body, but some parts of the head and neck are exposed. Still needs to be precise.
- Conjecture by Trixie: it was aimed with precision at one of his exposed parts.

- Investigation team left the cloud there, and observed it firing at the tree, east of the clearing.

- Only one way in or out of the forest, which is the pathway. Unless you're a pegasus, then you can fly out.

AB has never seen a human before.
- AB testimony:
* AB was visiting Zecora in the forest, helping her brew potions. Pick up flowers and plants near her house. She wasn't supposed to be out so late, and was grounded. She left Zecora's place at 2035 and "heard" the lighting strike about five minutes later. She freaked out and ran off the path, deeper into the forest, and got lost. She got out of the forest at around 2100 by her estimation. It's about ten minutes from her house, and her family confirmed her arrival at 2110. She was literally lost and had no idea where she was going.
* She was especially scared when she bumped into *something*. Trixie never heard anything of this. Twilight: "Did Trixie just-"
* She felt fur when she bumped into it, and could hear it breathing heavy like it was really tired. When she bumped into it, it jumped a bit. Almost right after, there was a second bolt of lightning. She didn't feel scared this time; after it struck, her eyes flashed for a bit. She stumbled for a minute or two with her eyes shut and then she found herself outside the forest when she came out.

AB:

- According to the weather schedule, RB was scheduled to make several lightning storms at the eastern end of Ponyville (from 1500); this is where she got the cloud from.

AS
- Found "embarrassing photos of RD" in AS's bag on the crime scene. A little burnt. RD recognizes it and really doesn't want it exposed.

FS
- Night hours: went outside to feed the chickens and "the other ones". She's taking care of a lot of exotic animals, since a zoo in Fillydelphia is renovating and they needed a place for the animals to stay. **She had them for three days now.** She doesn't let them into the forest.
- Near chicken coop: heard lightning bolt. Time: 2040, on the dot. It's the time she feeds her chickens every night. She is sure it was lightning, because the sound really frightens her. She nearly dropped all her chicken feed.
- After she finished feeding chickens: she saw RD leaving the forest, flying out like something was chasing her. She called out but RD didn't respond. It takes her about 15 minutes to feed the chickens.
- Nothing was following RD. She didn't see anything come out after it.
- Police ponies arrived at the time.
- She went to bed at 2230

WHAT THE HELL WAS TWILIGHT REACTING TO WHEN TRIXIE GETS ANGRY???

Theories:
* Lightning Bolt striking locations
Assumptions
L1: The target for the second and third bolts are truly random and cannot be manipulated or predicted in any way. The range should be restricted to a broad area (e.g. the bolt wouldn't extend outside the forest), but this should be a broad enough area that manipulation is impossible while prediction is irrelevant.
L2: Once a cloud fires its first bolt, it cannot be moved. The location of the first bolt can always be pinpointed directly from the location of the cloud (note: this may require skill or expertise, but the results are accurate).
L3: Lightning is the only source of electrocution in this setting.
L4: Lightning is the only method to cause something to burn in this setting.
L5: When lightning hits the ground, it makes a sound. The loudness of the sound is relative only to the location in which lightning struck, and does not vary across different strikes. Note that the converse does not imply (a sound does not indicate that lightning hit the ground).
L6: The only way to prevent lightning from hitting the ground is by absorbing it with a lightningproof vest. Note that the converse does not apply (the presence of a lightningproof vest does not necessarily prevent lightning from hitting the ground).
L7: The strike observed at 2335 was truly the final bolt on the cloud, and it definitely occurred at 2335 and it hit the tree, which was not moved afterwards.
L8: The location of the cloud observed by the police was over the spot with Ace's body. This was observed at a time in which the cloud could not have been moved in the period between its first strike and the observation time.
L9: If the police did not observe signs of burning on the ground at any location, then lightning did not strike the ground this location.

Theories
- By L2 and L8, the first strike of the cloud must have landed at the spot with Ace's body. This spot was found to be burned, so by L4, this spot on the ground was struck successfully. By L5, this must have caused a sound. By L6, this first strike was *not* absorbed by a lightningroof vest (but it may have still hit such a vest anyway).
- By L7, the third strike hit the tree. It was not absorbed.
- The second strike is less definite. If we assume that the police were thorough and did not find any burn marks, then by L9, we can conclude that the second bolt did not strike any locations. By L6, this means the second strike was absorbed by a lightningproof vest. This may or may not have made a sound.

Mia flashback - foreshadowing the reality or just building up doubts for him to resolve with conviction

PP: Using a new shampoo on Day 2. She was planning to come to the trial and cheer for RD but she missed the trial (why was she late?????).

Day 0: RS saw the letter at her doorstep, with blackmail contents. Meet at 2035

RS: This is her first time in the Equestrian 500. She didn't want to drop out, even if her pictures would be leaked. She's not used to flying too long, and tires out fast.

She messes with ponies all the time, and she brought an extra big one to scare Ace Swift, to make the sound as loud as possible. It made him scream like a little girl. Then she claimed to have left as fast as possible.

E500: Some checkpoints along the track.

Lightning makes a sound when it touches the ground, or anything attached to the ground (like a tree). If it hits something small in the air that was close enough to the cloud, it wouldn't a sound [DEFINITE L6 VIOLATION]

Lightning Proof Vest covers up all exposed parts when flying out. They're only exposed when the pegasus is grounded on all fours.

RS has the key to Ace's hotel room. She snuck onto the room to get dirt on him (presumably before the murder). It was "hidden" under the mat. He was staying in the Hay and Stay Hotel while he was at Ponyville. It's a little past Sugar Cube Corner.

PP was looking for Feenie in Day 2, to help her find something she lost about a week ago.

Attorney's badge is the girliest thing PP has ever seen. Did Celestia really intend for Phoenix to be the attorney?

Hay and Stay: There's a ladder there, even though Ace is a pegasus. There was also a ripped up piece of paper about a permanent Leave of Absence (for something) after the E500 is over. "We made quite the team, but I-". There also seems to be an advanced spell book. Not in English, it's in the weird hieroglyphs that TS was reading earlier. "Continue from here, third line." PP doesn't recognize any of the other names.

Sonata showed up and claimed it was her room, and that her key was stolen two days ago. She used to be Ace's manager. She wanted to prosecute the case, but Trixie became the prosecutor. Both she and Ace are from Canterlot. Sonata and Trixie were classmates in magic classes. She only consults with those worth her time. Trixie has always been arrogant, and she was better than Sonata at magic despite being younger.
Sonata reacted badly to Pinkie's "AND AGAIN! AND AGAIN! AND AGAIN!" and "special talent is poking ponies' eyes out with that horn!" She closes her left eye.
Sonata's talent: rolling natural 20s on Perception.
PP kept looking at the ladder.
"What's your relationship?" seems to have triggered Sonata. She ejected Phoenix and PP out immediately after that, despite having pushed them for breaking and entering.

PP claims she slept in.

Creepy Eye Pegasus (named Derpy Hooves) asking about whether they received a letter not posted to them. She also said there is some unicorn calling ponies terrible names (Phoenix thinks it's Trixie).

Somebody is impersonating Rarity and is doing a REALLY terrible job of it. THIS IS NOT RARITY!!! "Rarity" doesn't know much about Phoenix's world and was surprised that ponies don't talk or fly or use magic. "Rarity" was expecting to get a package today and missed the trial. Supposedly a shipment of imported perfume (across the sea), but it didn't arrive. She waited in line for a long time, and then they told her they didn't receive her perfume. It never made it to Ponyville. They said they'd put in another shipment for her, but it would take a whole week. Phoenix got the invoice. The perfume is a "morning dew on a blooming rose". She was only getting one bottle. It lasts for a long time. It's also really expensive.

Sweet Apple Acres is ten minutes due south of Fluttershy's cottage.
AppleBloom was supposed to meet Applejack but she left asap after the trial.

PP has never seen a phone before. Phoenix got a call from a "concerned friend" who told him to meet at the clearing for some evidence that can save RD. Of course it was a trap, and Phoenix got knocked out. Cutscene showed a dark pony. Phoenix woke up lost in the dark (with an empty Court Record) when Fluttershy saved him from a pair of wolves.

The police apparently let Fluttershy go. Maybe the feather didn't match any of her animals. Twilight told Fluttershy that she'll be defending RD herself tomorrow.

TS has been seeing a bunch of Psyche-Locks all day. Apparently she even saw a black one. Twilight revealed that Celestia asked her to summon Phoenix Wright specifically. Apparently Celestia knew about him somehow.

Twilight had the other half of the letter! "We made quite the team, but I can't live with the guilt any longer. I can't keep helping you ruin others' lives. It saddens me beyond belief that we must part ways, but I must say farewell. Goodbye Ace, may our paths cross in the future."

Sonata pretty much admitted that she was blackmailing RD with Ace (she took the pictures!).

Why does Sonata resemble Mia?????

Gilda was flying over the forest when she saw RD with another pony

- Gilda was hiding in the tree where the feather was found. She heard the lightning strike. She dropped the bag. She searched and couldn't find it. She returned to the clearing. Found dead Ace next to the golf club. She moved Ace's corpse to the spot under the cloud.

- A dud bolt could happen when the lightning bolt doesn't leave the cloud and strikes inside the cloud where it doesn't make sense.

- CC was reporting the crime from 8:30 to 9 pm.
- Police station is 10 minutes away from the forest.

- When Fluttershy saw RD fly away, she saw a pony trotting (not flying) towards Ponyville, a little ways from her house, in the corner of her vision.
