   So because the minecraft thread is pretty general and weighty at this point, I figured there wouldn't be too much harm in my creating my own thread specifically to dicuss issues that occur on the dedicated minecraft server that stew is hosting for me. Any notifications, rule changes, etc will be posted here, as well as a list of the current admins on the server.

   Before we begin with the actual content, everyone make sure to [b]thank stew for hosting this server for us[/b]. He is doing it for free, and for the enjoyment of the community, and he deserves any gratitude you may be feeling.

[*]Don't be an asshole. Don't purposely sabotage other peoples' creations.
[*]Don't be an idiot. For instance, don't use flint and steel to ignite a tree that's only a few units away from someone's wooden house.
[*]Clean up your shit. I'm tired of seeing random burning trees and houses laying around that you accidently fucked up, but didn't have the decency to clean up. If you accidently burn down your house and there's still floating glass pieces in the air, build a temporary dirt tower to clean up the glass and then clean up the dirt tower.
[*]Stop making huge craters with tnt. It's fucking retarded, is a bitch to clean up, and ruins the spot for people who would want to build there in the future.
[*]Don't make ugly shit. As cool as you think a floating house made of diamond is, it's just an eyesore and requires no real skill to create. Now if you actually put in effort, and the house is still ugly as shit, that's fine. I'm just sick of seeing people with solid gold houses.
[*]No duping. [b]NOTE[/b]: This rule is not currently in effect. So many people have used the duplication bug to create their stuff, that'd it be unfair to start enforcing this rule now. However, in the future, when we do a map reset, this rule will start being enforced.
[*]Administrators have the final word. With the people I've given admin to, I realize that at times, they may seem completely retarded. If you have a valid argument with an admin, do not argue it with them. PM me on IRC or on the forums (though I might not respond for days/weeks if you use the forum), and let me know. I'll get your side and theirs, comb the logs for anything I need, and render a decision. Arguing with them will probably only get you banned, and coming to me after the fact might annoy me to the point where I'll just ignore you.
[*]Be considerate. The community chests that I'm going to try to make a staple of each map are for everyone. Feel free to take what you need, but don't take more for the sake of having. If you have a lot of something, feel free to donate some stuff to the chest. I'd rather the admins not have to constantly create shit out of thin air to fill the chest. I'd like it to be community-driven entity.
[*]Reuse existing stuff. For instance, if there's four mines already near the spawn point, there's really no need to create a new one, especially if the creators of the original mine have given permission to everyone to mine their stuff. (as if you could actually claim mines) I may be being a bit anal with this, especially since the game is called [i]Minecraft[/i], but it's just annoying to have so many random holes/openings into the ground when that space could be used for someone's house. In the future, I'd like the spawn point to be a nice heavy saturation of buildings, etc to give the server a community feel. Whether that happens or not is up to you guys.
[*]Put a sign in front of your work. This helps us to identify not only problems, but also good work and commend you on it. The administrators and myself are always happy to see talented builders, so if I notice you doing good work and not being an idiot, I may even grant you administrator privileges.
[*]Store any TNT or non-craftable objects on your character, not in chests. We've had problems with idiots getting their hands on TNT and griefing. If you happened across a dungeon and got your hands on gunpowder/tnt, or if you were given some by an administrator, we expect you to show a little responsibility and not use it inappropriately, or allow it into the hands of someone who would. We don't mind you having TNT on your person, but if you want to use it, please tell an op or admin before doing so. You need supervision to use TNT from this point forward, due to the problems we've had. Lying about posession of TNT will net you a three day ban, no questions asked.

[*]If you have been banned and you feel it was without reason, feel free to PM me. However, if you decided to duplicate 64 units of TNT, and then went to town putting holes down to bedrock near the spawn, and burning down FNugget's treefarm, don't bother. I'll ignore your PM, or call you an idiot, and then get your IP from the forums to IP ban you, as well. Keep in mind that I have quite a few friends among the SMods, Administrators, and Nabi Staff, so if you prove yourself stupid enough, I may even attempt to use my influence to ruin your shit on Toribash, too.
[*]I will try to let you guys know at least a day ahead of time before I do map resets or anything major, but situations do arise where things need to be done. If we do a map reset and you had no warning, I'm sorry, but those are the breaks. I'm starting to write a wrapper for the server so that it saves the map hourly, and makes a backup. If you desperately want an older copy of a particular map, let me know, and we'll see what we can work out. While I am a bit of an asshole, I'm not heartless, and I understand that you may want to continue with something that you spent hours, even days working on.
[*]Unless otherwise stated, you can consider a ban from my server a permanent exile. I'm not really one for much forgiveness, unfortunately. For the most part, the administrators I've picked are pretty lenient, and might allow you to bend the rules, so if you got banned, it's most likely for a big reason. I'll reference you to the first point I made in this list for any other occasion.
[*]When the October 31st update comes out, I'm going to evaluate how it changes the gameplay aspect of multiplayer. Some of these rules may change, and I may take up a policy of 'everyone for themselves' if enough bugs have been addressed to make a competitive game possible. We'll see.
[*]I would appreciate it if you guys would be helpful to newer players who might not know how to do things. This game is a bit difficult to get into if it's your first time playing, as there's no real guide, other than the minecraft wiki. (which not everyone reads) For those new to the game, I've linked some references you should probably check out at the end of this post. If you have any questions in-game, feel free to ask some of the regulars or our administrators. I don't know that they will be helpful, but I certainly hope so.
[*]If you have any issue with another player in game, immediately alert an admin in game. If there's none online, there may some on IRC in either [url=http://forum.toribash.com/chat_view.php?channel=toribash]#toribash[/url] or [url=http://forum.toribash.com/chat_view.php?channel=minecraft]#minecraft[/url]. If you still cant get anyone to help you with the issue, and [b]only if[/b] you can't, then PM me on IRC and I'll do what I can to handle the situation.
