Scroll-less cloud is a frame-perfect trick that works on both USA and JAP ROMs to prevent the crash during the Yoshi chuck eat.

To get scroll-less cloud, make sure Yoshi is standing no farther right than 0x07FB on the frame that Yoshi eats the chuck, position pictured here:

Leading up to the chuck eat, hold down the L shoulder pad, and on the frame that Yoshi eats the chuck, press the R shoulder pad. The game will not crash.

You can press any other buttons you'd like during the eat, which means you can get a head start on running, unlike with the scrolling strat, where you can't press any buttons but R leading up to the eat. In my testing it works 100% of the time, as long as you hit the right frame, and saves roughly 36 frames on the USA cart, with 32 frames of extra savings from message boxes by switching to the JAP cart, for a total of 68 frames, or 1.133 seconds.
